Have you ever achieved a long-held goal and felt empty rather than full of pride? Do you spend so much time looking at the mountaintop that you never notice the view? Dr Jessamy Hibberd did just that, but then went on a personal quest to find a better alternative. From her research and experience, she highlights three simple changes anyone can make to feel happier, more content, and live a daily life that fulfils you. Dr Jessamy Hibberd (BSc, MSc, DClinPsy, PgDip) is a London-based Clinical Psychologist. She works one-to-one with adults experiencing common mental health problems like anxiety, depression or low self-esteem. She gained her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Royal Holloway, University of London, and completed her accreditation in CBT at the world-renowned Institute of Psychology, Kings College. She has been on a mission to make psychology more accessible ever since.
Dr Jessamy believes we should be thinking and caring for our minds in the same way we do for our bodies. Her motto is: “What you do every day is what makes the biggest difference to how you feel”, accompanied by the understanding that small steps lead to the biggest changes.
Dr Jessamy is co-author of the bestselling “THIS BOOK WILL…” series (sold in 14 countries, including Greece), which aims to help people understand themselves better and to gain more from their life. She also works as a media psychologist, regularly contributing content to popular newspapers and magazines. Dr Jessamy’s latest venture is online - she is a leading blogger and uses social media to promote her message.

A really powerful personal account that will resonate with so many. I realise now it’s so easy to get obsessed with your end goals without enjoying or appreciating what gets you to reach them. I have really taken on board the need to slow down, have empty time and focus on the small steps to make the biggest changes.

What a fantastic talk... we are huge fans of the This Book Will series too. It's such an important concept that we talk about all the time in Step Up: it's the little every day things that count. Insightful, intelligent and meaningful: we would recommend Dr Jessamy's advice to everyone.

Thank you for sharing this Jessamy; such important realisations that it's the everyday moments and the journey we're on that matter. It's so easy to forget this and get wrapped up in focussing on the future and goals and missing what's in front of us!

Really enjoyed the video, and it left me with a number of things to mull over - deserves to be enormously successful. Have shared it on my blog, and my thoughts, there, but won't link to it - not saying it to self-promote, but just to say that's how much impact it had on my thought process. There's a lot to learn and it's all been quite well said.

As I watched & listened i found the theme really resonated with me, and left me reflecting on not so much of the ‘what’ I have achieved but what I have learnt along the way. Really inspiring to listen to.
