"Bleeding Love" was written by Jesse McCartney and Ryan Tedder, the leadsinger of OneRepublic. This song was released as the second single of Leona Lewis in 2007.
Jesus. I still can't get over the fact that he wrote it. When I heard of that, I fell in love with him all over again. No, I'm not a crazy obsessive fangirl... just someone who respects a boy for having the emotional depth to write something like this. He needs more credit.
@@ameliastefani Jesse McCartney did not write the song bleeding love. He was doing a cover song, sung by another artist. Ms. Leona Lewis is the artist that wrote the song.
@@pixierain8722 Jesse McCartney and Ryan Tedder wrote the song, it was originally going to go on Jesse's album but it didn't make the cut so Leona Lewis was given it and she recorded it. She recorded and sang it but she did not write the song.
I love Jesse and I was shocked that his label didn't let him release this song but I think it was good decision because if he released this song, it might not be No.1 in all around the world (I love his version so much). By giving this song to Leona, he was able to show how talented Jesse is to the world.
The “bleeding” in the background of the chorus is just….😍😍😍 *chef’s kiss* love both versions-but Jesse’s gives it an entirely different feeling. I love it.
Same here. I was reading Leona Lewis' Wikipedia, then I checked the record of Bleeding Love and that's how I leaned that it was written by him for his Departure album.
I learned that he wrote this song from The Masked Singer. I was so surprised because it was like the only Leona Lewis song that I really liked, and to know that he is why was amazing. Well done, Jesse McCartney.
@@gyounce1 If that's the only song from her you like, you really don't know her music. You seriously don't like "Run," Better in Time," "Happy," "Breathe?" Seriously? Breathe is vocally one of the hardest songs to sing.
Just discovered this version of this song in 2022 and I am simply obsessed, and can’t stop listening to it😍 Jesse is such a underrated singer that it pains me he has one of the most beautiful voices I ever heard.
JESSE WROTE THIS SONG?? Omg I just watched Zack’s podcast.. I had no idea Jesse, my 1st Disney crush, wrote bleeding love?? One of the biggest hits ever?? I am so sad he didn’t release it but had to give it away >< his career would skyrocket for sure.. what a talented guy he is ❤
It was his, his recordlabel rejected it, tedder decided to give it to leona. But darn! What kind of ears does those recordlabel people have??? His version is soooooooooo GREAT! HandsDownJesse!
@@xww6849 first of all, this was 8 years ago. second of all, me saying that i think jesse's version is more romantic to me is not sexist but nice try though
This is amazing. I didn't think Jesse McCartney could steal my heart again with his music, but he has! That man is seriously talented! My lover and I listen to this song from time-to-time. He dedicated this song to me and asks me to remember him when times get tough. Funny how a person will love you regardless of your background, because my hubby wants to be a part of my life until we're both in Heaven.
@@kayleighteston6143 the clues! If u watch the first clue package the biggest clues I noticed that tells me its him is when he is drawing on the chalk board it says Don't Rave Ever At My School - Turtle. It doesn't really make sense but if u take the first letter of each word it spells out Dream St. Which is a boy band he was in when he was like 12 or something. Then the surf boad hes wiping down reminds of of the TV show he was on with Zac Efron called Summerland and he lives on a beach and works in a surf shop or he knows someone who works in a surf shop. Then there is a lunch menu and is says something about beets and ginger snaps. He sang with a group called sugar beats I believe and his moms name is ginger (that one may be a stretch). Plus his voice. The way he pronouces his words when he sings. Its pretty distinct. He was my Justin Bieber back in the day so I know a lot about this man. Lol. 💖
Closed off from love I didn't need the pain Once or twice was enough And it was all in vain Time starts to pass Before you know It you're frozen But something happened For the very first time With you My heart melts Into the ground Found something true And everyone's Looking round Thinking I'm going crazy But I don't care What they say I'm in love with you They try to pull me away But they don't know The truth My heart's crippled By the vein That I keep on closing You cut me open and I Keep bleeding Keep, keep bleeding love I keep bleeding I keep, keep bleeding love Keep bleeding Keep, keep bleeding love You cut me open Trying hard not to hear But they talk so loud Their piercing sounds Fill my ears Try to fill me with doubt Yet I know that the goal Is to keep me from falling But nothings greater Than the rush that comes With your embrace And in this World of loneliness I see your face Yet everyone around me Thinks That I'm going crazy Maybe, maybe But I don't care What they say I'm in love with you They try to pull me away But they don't know The truth My heart's crippled By the vein That I keep on closing You cut me open and I And it's draining all of me Oh, they find it Hard to believe I'll be wearing these scars For everyone to see But I don't care What they say I'm in love with you They try to pull me away But they don't know The truth My heart's crippled By the vein That I keep on closing You cut me open and I
Never heard this version until now. I definitely like it better than Leona's. You can always tell people sing their own songs so much better than someone else's. Talented man.
I love him still. I was like the only black girl in my school that listened to him and jonas brothers and all that. I know he wrote the song, I think it fits him more, but Leona's version is good too for her voice. She sounds real whiny and he sounds, like Jesse. -^.^-
I went to one of his concerts and my mom was shocked when he sang this, so I explained how he was the one who wrote this song. It made me fall in love with him more when I found out and he was my first crush.
No he didn't. He and Ryan Tedder wrote it for Departure. Hollywood records didn't like it. It was after Simon Cowell said that he was looking for songs for Lewis' debut album after the The X Factor that Tedder changed the key. The point being that this song was written (and I think recorded) before Leona Lewis was on The X Factor. After that version's success, McCarthy re-recorded his original
Actually, he wrote it for his own album and later gave it away to Leona... He said in an interview that "if he knew it was going to be such a monster he would've kept it for himself"... haha oh well!
Till this day i argue/ say to people that leona did not write nor this was her own song that Jesse Mccarthney did and when show them this their face is priceless lol... 🤘2018
Different sounding if a male sings it...someone said it sounds like raw emotion; I have to agree with that one! I really like the vocal runs he starts doing at 3:10 with the chorus onward.
I can relate. Ignoring my user photo and name, I feel like I'm sinking into someone else's shoes when listening to his version. Don't get me wrong, Leona's is good too, but the emotional work for Jesse's is higher. I love the bridge after the 2nd chorus. It lifted me up :3
Jesse McCartney was my hero when I was a kid he was the reason I started singing I wanted to be him I remember singing his songs on the radio when I was like 4-5 years old
Im not suprised Hollywood Records didnt like it but it was a blessing really. Tedder and McCartney are rich off Leonas version it was number one in 35 countries they must be so chuffed
I mean I think with how big he was at the time the song would have been just as successful... but hollwood records was pretty much controlling him and only wanted him singing a certain style and way and woildnt accept him singing anything outside of that (I mean hollwood records was/is owned by disney so go figure)
I like both versions, but I definitely prefer Jesse's. Leona's version sounds like she is trying to make sure the whole world hears her declare her love and defend it, but Jesse's version feels more intimate. His sounds more like him reassuring and comforting his partner directly in a quiet spot. He doesn't care if anyone else hears, he doesn't care about anyone else in the slightest, all he needs is the love they share. I'm glad Leona made the song as popular as she did since it deserved the love, but I wish Jesse would record and release his version officially.
I love both versions. Leona’s version has more of a powerful vocal range that just captivates every listener and emotion. Jesse’s version is more pop. The chorus he showed the most emotion that changed the mood of the song. I enjoy both versions of the song. Do I have a favorite? No, because I think both versions have a lot of strengths.
TWO OF MY FREAKING MOST FAVORITE SINGERS WROTE ONE OF MY FAVORITE SONGS AND I HAD NO CLUE. And I was obsessed with Jesse McCartney and this song for like the longest time a long time ago. I especially liked Jesse's Beautiful Soul album. :)
And people actually think that he's not talented? He wrote this song with Ryan Tedder but his label didn't like the song and didn't want to put it in the album. Imagine if they did release the song. He'd be massive! He deserve it so much...
This would be a really great song for Roxas and Ventus, since Jesse voiced them both. Just imagine Roxas singing this while Xion died and fought with Axel and, when Ven lost Aqua and Terra.
Dude is just one of those guys that comes out their moms womb with big blue eyes serenading every nurse in the room. Music like this is so natural he literally makes another timeless never die hit and just hands it away to someone and says best wishes. That chorus of keep keep bleeding love is so iconic. I thought he made the sone but Leona mixed her own melodies. This guy wrote the entire blueprint
