I love how this dude just wandered around stonetalon mountains looking at random npcs and mobs, and managed to conjure up such a cool story out of it-- where even if it's dubious at times before the reveal, you **want** to suspend your disbelief because of how well it's being executed. Definitely super talented, that's for sure
@laurenhawes7201
@laurenhawes7201 2 года назад
Yeah, among other details that I thought were suspicious that he left out (not recording his death at stonetalon peak, the names of the dead people being far too interesting, and the 'areas' of death looking to be conpletely different locations which is typically way out of the serial killer m.o....) Not a WoW player but was willing to go along with the story.
@Outwardpd
@Outwardpd Год назад
One problem a lot of people are forgetting is that his story does actually have a lot of plot holes, it only really works if you watched it back when it was released (a common wow storytelling issue also), and unfortunately in today's political climate there are multiple problems with the story that would make the eggheads in PR, marketing, and legal lose their minds.
@kmcd6140
@kmcd6140 2 года назад
The thing that got me about this is how it started out so familiar to me. I tend to play at night AND I have had a couple of weird deaths in Stonetalon, on Classic. I didn't note the time, but I happened to be questing or passing through on 3 separate occasions and just died. Horde and Alliance. I look around, and notice a mob way off and think, "Did that catch me?" Then I'd rez and move on. There was once that I just died, and someone in my guild chat said, "The Vale Ghost got you." They explained it was a bug that had been there since original release. They said you'd catch agro from some mob on the other side of the zone, and it would pop back when it killed you. I'd seen this happen in a similar fashion in EQ, so I believed them. So this farce actually had me buying in, because I had personal experience with a very real phenomenon. Grrr.

The thing that is pretty interesting for me is that of how I found Jesse. I didn't find him through any games at all... actually, I found him through Schmoyoho. Let me explain: The Double Rainbow song video and the Hide Yo Kids, Hide Yo Wives song video had covers on their end slates. Both of them prominently featured a cover by RoomieOffical. Joel from RoomieOfficial wrote a song to commemorate Jesse's 100th video. And then I binged on about 100 OMFGcata videos.

Not a comment on this video per say, but to me this is a classic "Jesse" video. I was first introduced to Jesse videos in 2012 when my son showed me a video of Jesse's bad time in Farcry 3. I was looking for something new to play and my son suggested Farcry 3, which I immediately declined because I did not think I could play it. So my son showed me Jesse laughing hysterically at himself as he set himself on fire, was killed by birds and and crash landed in water with much screaming because of crocodiles. Since then, watching a "Jesse video" together is something we still do and I completely blame Jesse for my addiction to Farcry games. lol Thank you Jesse for being Jesse.

First of all, this was amazing and I was drawn in hook line and sinker. I've thought for a long time that somewhere out there in gaming this type of thing, serial killers using games to hide their trophies to disseminate evidence while not having something easily noticed, had to exist so evidence of it was mind-blowing all to end up as a spitball to the face - probably uncomfortably close to the mouth. This was a 20 minute troll. That said though I've always said that Beorn from the Hobbit had it right: "A very good tale. The best I've heard for a long while. If all beggars could tell such a good one they might find me kinder. You may be making it all up of course but you deserve a supper for the story all the same." The art of storytelling has been mostly lost and I am happy to have the lively little embers that remain in my hearth. Also, before I leave you to it, have a happy and safe 4th. May your feasting be bountiful and full of antics that border on the edge of no longer being, "acceptable behavior."

I don't even play WoW and I was pissed for about 30 second before bursting into laughter at the punchline. Bravo.

What tipped me off was him connecting Socal Peak with Stonetalon Peak, had a moment of "Hang on wait, Stontalon Peak has been a thing since Warcraft 3" Still, pretty damn good story.

I'm a Warcraft purist, and WoW together with Blizzard died for me way back in WotLK. I love this video.

This guy made a whole damn Seven/Zodiac-esque murder mystery just to make a fucking point. I don't know if I should feel relieved, impressed, or blue-balled by the ending.
