Back when Jesse was our governer of Minnesota, I saw him on the highway in his Big red Lincoln Navigator. He had no security detail, by himself head bobbing to his music and puffing on a big ole stogie. Just looking badass and grooving. I will never forget that.
He won the jury trial. However, that judge made multiple egregious mistakes - botched jury instructions, prejudicial cross examination by the plaintiffs, and a "erroneous" failure to address questions of law. By the end of it, Kyle's lawyers were demanding a mistrial. It went to the appeals court where they struck down the $1.35 million for unfair-enrichment because it has no legal basis for this case - there needs to be a contract of some sort between both parties. The damages ruling was vacated and remanded for a new trial. The publishing company and Ventura settled a few months after. I doubt he got more than $500k. Probably less after attorney fees.
The raw emotion Jesse expresses here is on such a level that if he’s lying to Joe thru this interview then he’s an even better actor than Marlon Brando was. I believe him 100%.
I just want to put this out there once again - I'm a huge fan of Jesse. Seriously, he's like a prime example of what a good human should be, and in a time like this, we really need more honorable folks like him. He's like a beacon of hope that there's still kindness out there. Just take a look at the kind of role models that are getting attention nowadays. It's all about music lyrics and trends, and honestly, Jesse's the kind of influence we could use more of for the younger generation.
I used to like him, but more recently he has lost his mind. The government shouldn't decide how much you can earn, income caps are insane. Historically a free and unhampert marketplace, ie capitalism, has been the least worst system for eliminating poverty. AND he was a Covidiot.
Mark Twain once wrote, "A lie can travel the world before the truth has a chance to put it's shoes on" I'm sorry for that character assassination Mr. Ventura. God bless you & yours

I dunno about this one. I was believing his story until he from “yes I did hit you” to “I sure did hit you” if your telling your side of a story that helps clear your name your gonna keep your facts aligned pretty well
And justified. The whole thing (based on an event that didn't happen) ruined Ventura's career and reputation. Some men would kill the man who did that to them.
Nothing is more infuriating and maddening to have lies spread about you and ruin your reputation. For jesse this had to be bad because it just came out of nowhere for him. I hope he can be cleared of all this mess and his reputation and career can go back to normal.
This man is trembling with rage! You cannot fake that. Mr Ventura comes across as a very honest man who loves his country and thanks to Joe Rogan he gets his say. 👋
Here's the difference between an honest person and a liar. An honest person will tell you the same story every time. A liar (Chris Kyle) will tell you the same story every time but every time he tells it a few more details will come out.
@@tophr2710 I dont think he's lying. Its a fact Chris Kyle lied a lot. Rest in peace but he did. He said he did things he just did not do; Like shooting 2 guys who tried to rob him. Chris Kyle the author is a public character, a personae, much like Jesse Ventura in younger days when did actions flicks and kept that bad ass attitude in public. The law can get really iffy as long as specifics aren't varified by these guys, and many of them work sectors that are in full view of the news media anyway, so you notice the only verifiable information is what is in the news. Half the rest of it is made up to make a dollar. DoD would be all over their asses and have them in federal court otherwise, and it happens. You just don't hear about it, except for the scandals. Many SFOD-D operators are career, hand selected, and work in areas or on missions where the strictest of security clearances are held. There have been a few SFOD-D indie authors, but they're are rare and tend to publish in the indie conspiracy markets the general public doesn't want anything to do with; super advanced security systems that verge on science fiction, alien warfare, and alternate history pieces that can't be proven. I used to read stuff from one when I was younger. He may have been the guy that exposed the SFOD-D. That stands for Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta.
I dont care about the book, the fact that he was an obvious sociopath or how much he lied. Although The movie was terrible. The sad fact is he was sick. But he was talking to me about his new solar panels he had installed 😂 you can’t not love this guy! Very good guy!
Ventura makes a great point. Media and social platforms can make claims against someone, profit from clicks and / or views with no substantial evidence whatsoever. If the claims turn out to be false, there is literally no punishment dished to the ones making the false claims. I believe legislation should be passed to prevent this. I'm surprised it hasn't been done yet.
agreed. There should be a liable aspect should a media outlet offer an accusation that is proven false...wait...there is! The problem is it gets expensive for the victim. What there needs to be is a liable aspect tht allows the victim to go to court initially on the accused dime and if proven, free, if it shows truth to the accusation, then be billed. You now have a person that will think twice before they either falsely accuse or litigate. Ignorance would not be allowed as the accuser has to show concrete proof.
There is though- defamation. You can sue everyone involved. You're talking about criminal charges? For words? How long before that can be abused? I have no intrest turning into Scotland where they incarcerated a man for making a comedy video of his wife's dog- who she adored, and sat him in front of the TV and played Hier speeches until the pug became a "nazi" and his wife would have to come to terns with the fact that her cute little snookums was a K9 Nazi. Funny video. Funny premise. And he did time in prison. That's the world you advocate if we start policing words. Leave it in the Civil courts.

I do feel strongly that they were trying to keep Jesse Ventura from ever running for president I really do ...what he did in Minnesota as an independent was very impressive and I think it scared the hell out of both parties..
The MSM are war salesman and will do anything they can to prevent a anti-war candidate from being president. They are doing the same thing to Tulsi Gabbard, the only anti-war candidate running. She's also the only one who actually served.
What are you talking about? He was sick of politics, it's easy to do when you don't use politics for personal gain. Chris Kyle was a liar about sniping people from the dome in New Orleans, about killing two people in Texas and about Jesse--but hey it sells books and makes people feel patriotic so it's all OK.
Jesse said he thinks Kyle is a sociopath. A very close friend of mine has a lot to say about Kyle and what he did in Iraq. A friend who was in Iraq and Afghanistan for multiple tours. He wont talk specifics, but in his words Kyle nowhere near a hero, and from what he told me, Jesse is spot on
Great book, great movie, Chris Kyle was a great sniper. However, I do believe with this story, the Texas story, and the NO story, it's pretty clear Kyle was a pathological liar.
He was a liar and a publicity hound. Real honorable warriors don't glorify the horrors of war and their individual achievements and on top of it lie about other warriors. They honor their comrades and live their lives in quiet solitude. Others are free to celebrate them, but they realize duty doesn't require acknowledgement. In fact its contradictory.
Good stuff. It’s hard for people, hard for me, to come to terms with the fact that both are true. Chris Kyle, great sniper, but still a human who made mistakes.
I mean he had a lot of deaths on his conscious. I’m no veteran or anything but I’m thinking he had a switch get flipped over seas and it for a lack of better words scared him. So he fabricated stories and stuff to alter his reality so it kept his kind busy. Telling stories that are false maybe took his mind off of everything that he did and saw. Not justifying lying ever but I mean he was liked by all the teams and stuff for as far as I can find. Idk deep thoughts
All I can say is. If a self proclaimed hero claims he punched out a man over twice his age. He's no hero. Honesty, Integrity and Self Sacrifice are the marks of a true hero. Much respect Mr. Ventura.
That's exactly what I said years ago. Even if the story was true there's nothing to admire about it. You punched a senior citizen and ran away? Another battle star for you.
@@sleazyfellow It was just a ploy for the publishers to sell more books. They made their money, Kyle never lived to spend it and Mr. Ventura is paying the cost. I guess that's why I only read fiction.
It's not the punch that is the issue. It's the lie he made about, about Jesse saying "they deserved to lose a few" talking about the SEALS in Iraq. It's messed up. You don't do that. The only thing that I can think of to why he chose to do this, is to cause a stir and get people talking about his book. Everyone knows Jesse and he is a controversial figure. It's an easy grab to make, Kyle tarnished his legacy with his lies and there are more than 2, that he has made.
I’m an Iraq war army vet and I didn’t like the movie for numerous reasons so I read the book and didn’t finish it because a lot of was obviously not true. IMO the only people that hold him in this high regard weren’t there in Iraq and did do any kind of research about his claims.
It makes sense when you find out all the other huge lies Chris Kyle's told. Then lying about punching someone isn't such a big deal compared to lying about sniping people from the dome during hurricane Katrina, quickdrawing and killing two attempted car jackers and lying about a bunch of medals he never earned. Compared to all that, what's lying about punching a guy?
SEALs are involved in top secret shady shit right.. they work closely with intelligence agencies.. many of them are spooks and have been trained by the CIA like the guys at Black Rifle Coffee.. I think everything they do has a bigger purpose like writing a book could be an intelligence operation itself to disseminate a certain narrative or message.. opening a coffee shop network like Black rifle coffee might be a larger intelligence operation in a cultural war. Imagine how much influence you have over millions of people after you write a book or open up a coffee network.

Jesse Ventura is a rare breed, a man who stands up for what’s right, speaks the truth and doesn’t give a damn what anyone thinks. He wouldn’t even have to be a former Navy Seal to be considered a hero
I’m hoping he was lying about picking off looters after Hurricane Katrina, that’s straight up murder. Could have been some poor guy who just wanted a bottle of water.
Xor rd unequivocally without a doubt he was lying about sniping looters. I think once he decided write his memoirs he went to a publishing company to pitch his idea on the book. That publishing company probably teamed him up with an actual author to who help Chris write the book. Saying all that, I wonder if after they turned in their second or third draft and the publishing company said this isn’t enough ‘badass firefights and sniping’ and that it’s too boring. So they spiced it up to make it more dramatic exciting.
Jesse is the only guy I would be glad to volunteer if we would ever run for President. As you can see in the interview, he even says te guy is a hero and did his job, but didn’t have the courage to admit he lied. God bless Jesse. He has my support no matter what.
Same, although at this point it won’t happen. Between age and health, etc. I met him some years ago when I was a young sailor, he was in town to speak to the seals graduating from buds and was stationed across the street. He saw a few of us looking at him and he broke away from his PR people to come and say hello and talk with us. He could not have been a nicer guy. Pr lady was urging him to leave and he made the suits wait to talk with us personally about our upcoming deployments. He a LARGE human being btw…Or was until he got older.

Jesse is telling the truth. I think he’s right, Chris was a sociopath and lied regularly. It also could be what made him such a efficient and successful soldier. Lack of emotion & nervousness made him perhaps one of the greatest snipers in history. Crazy story
His New Orleans Superdome story is either two things. 1- He's a serial killer, and he enjoys murder so much that he went to New Orleans to shoot (we know that it was primarily black) people for stealing a TV that was going to get damaged anyway. 2- He told a lie about being a serial killer. He's a maniac either way. But I think we all know he didn't go to New Orleans.
You must be new here. Ventura has been talking about running for president for like 2 decades, he's not serious about it, that line just generates publicity for him.
@@murraylindsay6880 Because he tells the truth about the corrupt system, so getting a decorated and hyped up veteran (Chris Kyle) to lie about Jesse would benefit the government when it comes to discrediting him or just making him look weak.
Jesse is a little crazy but he is a man of deep patriotism and honor. Like you, I never doubted him. Jesse shitting on the Seals is as likely as the moon is made of cheese.
As a follow up.....lots of people saying they believe Jessie from his words here. To reinforce your trust, let's remember that not one single person in a crowded, staffed bar saw a punch being thrown. No security footage. No crowd reaction. No shouting. Jessie never had any kind of injury or facial marks. That evening, and the next day, Jessie met with dozens of people. The evening after the supposed punch, same day, Kyle and his friends asked to take some pictures with Jessie. This is a fact. In those pictures, Jessie had no injuries. And if Kyle had punched him out that day, why would he be asking for friendly pictures later. And why would Jessie agree to it, happily?

Very true. The truth is an inconvenient roadblock for those who submerge themselves in a world of make believe, especially when that world of make believe has been created by other’s fabricated stories. There is a demographic of people who fell in love with pages of the book “American Sniper” (as well as the Warner Brothers movie) who now feel that Chris Kyle’s stories are exempt from any type of fact-checking. The idea being that any story told by Chris Kyle should be taken at face value without any further questions asked. If Chris Kyle had punched out anyone in front of the Coronado Police, he would immediately have been taken into custody….and taken down and booked on assault charges. There also would have been a preliminary hearing in front of a magistrate or judge. Since Jesse Ventura was a well known former Minnesota governor, any assault on him would at the very least have ended up in section A of the Coronado newspaper, with the possibility of it being on the front page. With Ventura being a national figure, the story also would have trickled down into Newsweek, Time and U.S. News & World Report. As it was, there was nothing. Not even a minor blurb. Several years ago, a Coatesville man punched out another at a 7/11….and it was all over the news. And yet, Chris Kyle wanted people to believe that he punched out a well known former Minnesota governor in full of view of the police…..and there wasn’t even a minor blurb in any newspaper anywhere. Several months after telling his “Ventura story”, Chris Kyle told Michael Mooney of D Magazine that he had shot and killed two would be car jackers at a gas station on Highway 67 outside of Dallas TX. Kyle claimed the police were on the scene….and that the entire incident was caught on security camera video tape. When the story went through a fact check, it was found there were no police reports, no coroner’s report, no coroner’s inquest, no record from any district attorney in Texas, no surveillance camera tape….and absolutely no newspaper coverage that this incident ever happened. Chris Kyle was a serial fabulist, just like Jussie Smollett, Stephen Glass and Alicia ‘Tania’ Head. Chris Kyle never punched Jesse Ventura, he never killed any car jackers in Texas, he was never on top of the New Orleans Superdome in the Hurricane Katrina aftermath, he never earned 2 Silver Medals & 5 Bronze stars…….and he never gave away 100% of his book money royalties to charity. (He gave 2%) It’s amazing how many people can be “duped” by serial fabulists like Chris Kyle and Jussie Smollett.

@@vegetathesaiyanprince4724 It's pretty simple actually. Ventura was a Seal and then became very prolific in show bizz as a wrestler, actor and eventual governor. He just happened to be a retired Seal before all of that happened.
It’s a good point and it very well might be true, I just personally can’t believe that Chris Kyle would completely fabricate a story for his own personal gain. There definitely has been history of navy seals being mentally unstable. It’s hard to take the word of either of them considering that they’re both navy seals and that they have both defended everything that the United States believes in. My point of view comes from the fact that navy seals are trained mentally more so than physically. They are trained to not only trust, but love their fellow navy seals and trust them with their lives. A real navy seal not only lives for themselves, but live for their brothers. A real navy seal defends their brothers at all costs and to me, (personally) Chris Kyle seems more mentally stable and noble to his cause than Ventura. From what I have read and seen, Chris Kyle was a humble man who wanted nothing but peace for his country and I find the accusations of lying for personal gain to be absurd. I see this video more so as Ventura trying to defend his name and win over the hearts of his fellow Americans while Kyle is in his grave and has no means of defence. The real story may never come out but I believe in Chris Kyle, I will always believe in Chris Kyle and my brothers who have actually seen what happens in Afghanistan, and seen just what it takes to survive will know that you will not survive without your team, and they will not survive without you. To me, Chris Kyle is the hero and ventura is the liar with mental instabilities trying to defend his own name.
@@ajattwood6329 I'm a retired noncommissioned officer and Kyle was a retired petty officer (the same enlisted structure). As an NCO/PO, your word is your bond. So, if he lied about the number of medals he was awarded, then it speaks directly to the reliability of HIS word. Therefore, I cannot trust his account and must judge for myself that he lied about Ventura as well.
As of right now, February 14, 2021 I think almost every intelligent person knows that Chris Kyle was mostly full of himself. He may have been great in the military capacity but in a moral capacity he was a compulsive liar.
@@kyleinwood284 oh he has my respect! After the military though he is blatantly lying about Jesse and shooting looters. I respect the service to my country but God respect the truth....
Yeah, watching these types of videos and seeing his lies. I’m sad he got killed cause he is a veteran. But this dude had a problem and loved the fame. Sad very sad.
What a very important and impactful video. I can’t speak to all Jesse’s opinions on life but in this instance I believe him and I feel for him on his reputation being hurt. Joe does such a great service of long interviews with no intent..
I don’t know if that makes them an honest person but I believe that any military veteran or active military personnel deserves respect and love they LITERALLY put their lives at risk for all of us
@@everythingshih-tzu3146 he was in Vietnam and was in operations in the Philippines. Also who cares even if he wasn't in a war he was still a UDT/SEAL that's impressive enough.
Chris Kyle lied, period. The truth always comes out. I think the seal community oues him a big apology. I feel bad for Kyle's kids, instead of having a memory of a badass sniper dad, he will be forever remembered as a liar.
Chris Kyle was a psychopath. I say that as a veteran-he had courage and great abilities and skills but that does not give him the right to boast (falsely) about killing poor Americans and assaulting truly great men like Jesse Ventura. I can’t forgive Eastwood for immortalizing Kyle with such a simplistic, xenophobic portrayal with “American Sniper”.

During the trial Ventura had three former UDT/ SEALs testify on his behalf saying that the confrontation never happened and Ventura had photos taken the night of the alleged punch and the next day that showed no marks or bruises on his face to back it up.The SEALs and other witnesses that testified on Kyles behalf admitted that they had been drinking heavily and gave different accounts as to where the punch took place.Kyle himself in video tapped depositions taken before his death and played during the trial changed his story several times.Ventura and his brother both served in the UDT/SEAL community. Why would Ventura go into a bar filled with Navy SEALs and badmouth them ?Why was Chris Kyle the only SEAL in that bar who had the courage to confront and punch Ventura ? The so called fight happened in 2006. No one heard anything about this until Kyle's book came out in 2012. Why did it take so long for the story to get out ? The story never got to the media or the tabloids or onto the internet before Kyle went public with it. Harper Collins emails that were shown during the trial said that the punch story was hot, hot, hot. It was giving Kyles book publicity.Add the fact that Kyle had a history of telling tall tales like his gas station carjacking story and his story about shooting looters from atop the Superdome in New Orleans after Katrina. Kyle also lied about his medal count and the Navy had to correct him on it.Kyle was making money off of this story and defamed and slandered a man who served his country and comes from a family with a history of military service. If you look at the evidence and facts that came out during the trial it was all in Ventura’s favor despite the verdict being overturned...
I agree with everything you said here but NOT ONE person much less a seal testified that they saw Kyle punch Ventura in the trial. Thats the only thing you got wrong.
I don't think that the authorities call it murder when there is civil unrest/natural disasters, etc. Looters are often rightfully shot during huge losses of services when police aren't available and people/property owners have to fend for themselves. If you have looters stealing food/medicine/etc. that can put you or your family's lives in danger; that's not murder at all. Oftentimes during emegency situations like this, civil rights/constitutional rights are suspended and are right the hell out of the window. Certainly scary crap. You ought to read some of the stuff that FEMA and/or the federal/state government is authorized to do under such circumstances. As far as Kyle shooting looters from the roof of the superdome? Uhh....I'm gonna have to guess that was bullshit.
But apart from the heorism side of the story, the movie reflects a tangible understanding what soldiers mentally go through.. All those poor veterans who are forgotten and will never be the same humans before they see war and destruction..
I didnt read the book either. I've read almost every Navy SEAL book out there except his. My radar went off when I saw that he was bragging about the number of people he killed on the cover. Something very wrong with that guy.
@@seanbonella nope. But I also don't go around calling people saints when I know nothing of them or they have not shown actions to prove they are a good person
Dude, Mike Murphy was a beast, they all were and are. Marcus, when he returned home, had a few guys shoot his dog, and he grabbed his guns and chased them through multiple county’s while on the phone with the police, telling the police their location.
