Love the complete lack of hesitation when answering that it's because Vince isn't there. 😂 Hopefully soon, with his influence, we can finally see wrestlers get unionized!
I’m glad to see Jesse has calmed down……. He’s actually able to have a conversation!!! Or maybe Chris is just that good of an interviewer!!!! Good job!!
Oh my God...imagine if they familiarize Jesse Ventura with a few wrestlers and have him call their match at a Live Event for their match. I mean seriously...printing money right there.
With how Vince started to oversee everything and constantly changed his mind making things become incredibly cartoonish. I wouldn't have been surprised given that scripts were written right up to the last minute under him
Jesse: please make a deal that finally the WWE Network releases the old "Superstars of Wrestling" episodes from 86-92 ( i know not all are commentated by you, and I know there is a copyright thing with the name of the show itself).
LMAO just ask UFC fighters about pay, things in WWE might be different. But it has nothing to do with the merger; it's just that there's far more people in charge and just not one guy ruling with an iron fist.
So, I guess WWE is bringing back Saturday Night's Main Event in December on NBC. The rumored pairing on commentary is Cole and Ventura. Michael Cole has gotten much better as a play by play without Vince in his ear, telling him what to say. Ventura is now in his 70s, and he hasn't followed the product on a regular basis in many years. He would need to start watching again to see who's there now and what it is they're doing. I just don't believe that in 2024 he can re-create the same magic with Cole that he had with Vince and Monsoon
Jesse Ventura left the world of wrestling because it was too toxic and had too many oppressive power structures. He left and went to the warm and welcoming world of politics.
Vince was a Wrestling 🤼♂️ Genius 🧠 & was Smart 🤓 Enough at a point to give the Fans what they wanted even if it was making amends with people he had problems with & bringing them back so the Audience can enjoy them 👍. His down 👎 fall was that he became too much of a Control 🎮 Freak 🤪 & was stuck in the Old School 🏫 ways which was starting to stunt the growth of the Modern age WWE. That's the talent, the product, & the connection with the Audience
He has to have a serious condition. The Body for the past 40 years Corporations can go to He// now WWE is great now that it's under big Corporation??? Call it the Conspiracy Theorist in me but he was the Pioneer of Conspiracy and I learned it from him
Jessie is one of the smartest wrestlers ever since buddy Rogers ( the original nature boy for all you young marks) And this is why all those idiots with blind loyalty to Vince hate warrior because warrior owned his own brand those other idiots were owned by Vince! Because he has to control people like a dog to make himself feel better!
I agree with jesse on a lot but do not compare it to slavery, you chose to get a job in wrestling, you agreed when the contract was offered and you knew there was no union, a slave has no choice in anything ever. However I am looking forward to his return but just because you're not part of a union, it does not make you a slave.
I agree. I think surf would be a better comparison. Surfs can live on the owner’s land sure. But that comes with rules which includes taking care of the land. So the owner of the land is basically your employer in a sense and they weren’t always very fair. I think that sort of relationship between employer and employee is far more on the nose than a slave. At least surfs had some choice
I've always admired Jessie's intelligence and not being a pushover but I'm not sure what type of position they give him now... he's getting up there lol
I understand that wrestlers contracts were probably shit compared to modern times. Especially under Vince who didn’t care for the well being of the talent. But slavery? I don’t know that’s a bit much. Surfs would probably be closer because you’re not a slave. But you did have to work on the land for the owner in exchange for living on it. Not always the best set up. I don’t think he’s suggesting that a wrestler is the equivalent to a slave point for point. I would argue k pop idols have it worse. A lot of them don’t get paid and their companies can be very horrible
Drawing a comparison is something he can do to show how the wrestling industry treated them. What would you compare it to from your vast experience in the 70s80s90s wwf/wwe?
