Most of those features are found on germanic people or northern slavic who lived in northern areas like Nordic countries or Germany and England. They are not like many Central Americans & South Americans, most of which are mixtures of Spaniards/Portuguese with Native Americans (Aztecs, Mayans, Incas, et cetera) and black (Sub-Saharan Africans, as in Congo, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, etc.). These Central & South Americans only adopted Spanish & Portuguese last names from those that converted them to Catholicism. Try traveling to Spain and Portugal and you will see that 99% of the people there are white. @oohkillertofu It is a bit complicated. Spanish people tend to have arab genes probably from the time when arabs conquered Europe. Arab genes are also a complicated mixture, which could include some european and east asian genes. Also, the heritage depends not only on the group that your genes came from, but what actual genes actually remain in your DNA. Latinos are very european, but still they have less of a tendency to be blond than one would expect.
Maybe if people knew more about genetics then they would'nt be surprised about the result. If your dad is let's say 50% native american and 50% black and your mother is 100% danish (scandinavian) then you yourself will inherent 50% danish from you mother but you will not just simply get 25% black and 25% native american from your dad. you could get 40% black and 10% native, or the other way around. And thus when you have children you will have 50% danish, 40% black and 10% native american. that technically means that your child might not (genetically) get ANY of your danish genes, any of your black or any of your native american. Basically Alba might very well have had ancestors that were native americans and and "latinos" etc. but she just happend to get most european dna, since Spain is European. Her brother might, genetically, just be 60% european and 40 percent native american. Or he might even be 100% european. DNA Is a lottery, basically.

Even though the people come from that group, they actually descend from a very small percentage of families that actually emigrated there, so Costaricans tend to have particular features that end up not looking totally spanish. Salvadorans for example tend to have fuller eyebrows and blacker hair, althought it's a subtle difference.

Here we go with the misconceptions about Spain. Spain IS considered white, or as he wants to call it, "oh my gawd". Spaniards are made up of Mediterranean groups and Nordic types, so northern Europe. There is some Middle Eastern in Southern Spain, but in the race chart that is still considered of the caucasian race, just a different sub group. Go to Spain and Portugal and tell me where the white skin and all of the European features come from; it certainly does not come from Native Americans. As Latinos, you also have to do your research and know who is who. It is like saying that Italian, French, Greeks and Romanians are not white.
spaniards are definitely white though you spaniards tend to overstate the racial influence of northern races and while you've got blond spaniards they clearly are a minority. Most of you are dark haired. Im not denying your diversity, just you arent as white as you'd like to pretend you're. And you like to pretend you're whiter than you really are because tou're a tad racist, particularly with latinamericans, who are in no small percentage coming from spaniard DNA

@ninja886 i happen to be a spanish national and have lived in the states. im just surprised that in a country where people put such a premium on ancestry, she wouldn't realise that spaniards are europeans
People on this thread act like they know about race and genetics. They tell people that Hispanic isn't a race, yet refer to "white" as being a race, when that isn't a race either. There's Caucasian, Mongolian, and Negroid. This whole fixation on white is because most Americans of European ancestry are German, English, Irish, or Scottish and all those are white(blonde, blue eyes, white skin) but they don't realize that not all Caucasians are white. "Race" doesn't exist. It's just a made up concept used to group people together who share similarities. Spaniards aren't white. They are European, but that doesn't make them white. Mexican can be a race, since we're already saying that white and black and asian are race's.
@JOKAWILD26 They're not Hispanic if that's what you're thinking, and a lot of them are mixed with Arabs, who are technically also white. Your two examples could also pass for Italian, but would you also say that Italians look Mexican?
