Jessie J sings the cover as she feels and hears it in her unique Jessie J style. This was an unrehearsed performance. I just found out something you should know. Her doctors advised her not to fly back to China. She felt something inside telling her to go back. She arrived after the rehearsal. She arrived just in time to sing the song, no preparation or anything. It is absolutely her own Jessie J stamp and cover of the song. And she was not feeling well. She said she her whole body was shaking and she said to herself, don't faint. With all of that going on, she fought through and gave an incredibly stellar Jessie J performance.

i saw her live in 2011 in a small club before she became really big and i remember saying - she is the single best singer ive seen live since celine dion, and as good as...i was blown away

Thanks so much for reacting so quickly. Jessie J has a heart condition called Wolf Parkinson-White Syndrome. She is an extraordinary person, so genuinely kind. She was diagnosed at 9 years old. She suffered a major stroke at about 16/17 years old. She was told that she would never walk or speak again. Look at God! This is a very special young lady, a rare talent. The gift is rare. She possesses one of the greatest gifts/voices of our life time (perhaps any lifetime), and she cannot be categorized. Her runs flow as effortless and naturally as a flowing river. It was a stunning performance. The passion and emotion comes from a very real place. When her heart took her out of the competition, they made an allowance for her, and she came back saying that her Heart will and is going on. Her fans are much aware of how determined and committed she is. No complaints or excuses. She always gives it her all. YOU MUST REACT TO Purple Rain, Killing Me Softly, and Earth Song. We would love to see that. Your reactions are respectful, thought provoking, informative and wonderful. I loved your reaction. You should check out some of her interviews to see the genuine, honorable, truthful, sensitive person that she is. Her friends describe her as one of the nicest most wonderful people they know. No they can't be compared cause they are different people who sang this song for different intentions. However in my humble opinion I have never heard a version or this song as powerful and tenderly emotional as this one. She basically nailed masterfully.
@@pwpg06 in my opinion, this version is more powerful and harder to sing than the original. I think it's actually harder since Jessie J added lots of higher notes and longer notes.
This song has different meaning to Céline and Jessie. Since I don't want to betray Céine, as a die-heart Céline fan, I would say they both did a tremendous job that no one can compare😆😆
I've always really liked *Jessie's* voice but I think I'm in love with it now. Not only did she deliver the song vocally with incredible technique; it was unbelievably emotive plus she showed restraint! *Definitely on par with Celine's* (lowkey surpassed it, but you didn't hear it from me). It would be blissful if they sang this together. *P.S. I truly hope Jessie heals. Have faith and pray for her, my brothers and sisters.* As two wise women once sang: "There can be miracles, when you believe."
there wasnt much restraint at the start - she did go full pelt at the first chorus when it really needs to be breathy there still but it was beautiful not matter

She is amazing! She drags you into the song. Her emotions when singing are excellent. And her voice is one of the best. Powerhouse, range, control. I've gotten so more respect for her now than earlier. She kinda went too far with hitting high notes/belting earlier. Not saying she has been bad, but I felt it went at bit far at times. Now she is pure quality. I hope she will get the recognition she deserves. She is one of my favorite artists now. And to add - almost all of her performances on this show made me cry. Not many artists do that to me.
I had never felt emotions while listening My Heart Will Go On till this performance. And to be honest I was a little disappointed when I heard she was going to sing this, but Jessie, I’m sorry for ever doubting your ability to make me fall in love with any song you sing, please forgive me! The simplicity of the arrangement with a slight little difference here and there was to emphasis Jessie J's riffs and runs were indeed 'magical.' and add to that the 'clarity' of her voice with each and every word perfect. I myself have heart problems so this song really does take on a new meaning. Thank you so much for that Jessie...we truly are kindred spirits. She suffers from Wolff Parkinson White syndrome, we don't have exactly the same problem but we have many of the same symptoms which includes many operations on my part and we both had a stroke at age 17. It's one thing to know that you're not alone but so much more to hear and see it, I've been dealing with this for so long I think maybe I've become a bit numb, I'm no longer numb I'm in tears, just beautiful! My prayers and HEART are with you Jessie!
I literally screen recorded the youtube video, scared it would be tooken down like the rest. I just can't stop watching it in awe. Jessie J was never known for the lower notes she was always fast, high and complex but girl... she will be after this performance. ❤
This totally shoooked me to the core. I knew Jessie could sing but I didn't know she posessed those kind of notes in her and when she sustained that belt at the end I was like...Right I'm done I can go home! but than she took it a level up with the run and I almost fell out my seat, it was that good! I watched her performance earlier and I was shaken up a bit. She gave me goosebumps on top of goosebumps and made me tear up. I am super proud of Jessie J. She wasn't even 100% during this performance. She had to sit down for the results later on. And she mostly stayed sitting down except for when she hugged the other contestants, especially KZ when she was booted off the show. Jessie is a fantastic vocalist. So underrated. Well, that was Celine Dion’s song... I love Celine, very much. But- Jessie J did everything with this song that I’ve ever wanted. Brilliant voice, and brilliant placement of runs.
She's proved she's one of the best singers of this generation to me--arguably maybe even the best. This perfect balance where she has great technique but doesn't let it bleach out emotion. And yes. That key element that she has the rare wisdom among power singers of restraint and proper placement for tricks and runs. The older I get, the sicker I get of otherwise mediocre performances boosted by tricks. Jessie isn't that person. I've always liked her, but her performances on this show have put me over into ardent fandom. Maybe Pink is up there too, for slightly different reasons. The two of them are battling for that top spot with me.

She has really worked on her technique,used to strain a lot previously, and her runs have also become very tasteful. Without a doubt one of the best currently.

I can’t believe she did so well because she wasn’t 100%, she couldn’t even stand by the end of the episode when they were announcing the results. She’s such a vocal powerhouse and I’ve known about her but it’s this rendition of a classic that she took it and made it her own! Such an emotional performance! Something so mature in her performance here! She dug deep to bring the feelings into this song and I have gotta believe she really was personally touched this song; did they release this version as a single because I want it!
