The questions were geared toward a really young audience, who would think they were interesting. (Since I was initially intrigued, I also read another review of this Bible. They listed even more questions that seemed too silly for me.) An orange-letter Bible didn't appeal to me, either. You did a very fair review. I much prefer the Jesus Bible by Zondervan.
Well you know what I feel about the font and the print size! I'm trying to rethink some of these questions and it certainly is weird in one aspect. But if you're very much into pop culture, these questions can get you thinking how Jesus is above pop culture and I think they're trying to get people to realize the same. Our younger generation has trouble with reading skills and maybe needs these more blunt questions to get them to realize what they're reading; that Jesus is God.
I was very interested until I found out it was NLT. I love that translation but I don’t want too many bibles in that translation. It being a Jesus centered, pink cover, and the blue letters drew me in. I didn’t care for the “voting off Jesus in survivor”. I’m a pretty silly girl who doesn’t take life that seriously, but this is God. He deserves that respect and I don’t think it should be in a bible when you are learning the good news. I had thoughts like I wonder what Jesus’ favorite food was when he was on earth but I can’t imagine putting that in a bible. Anyway it has more positive than negatives for me, but I can’t buy another NLT bible. Can’t wait to see your comparing this and the Jesus Bible.
