my mom asked me to get baingan to make bharta and I kept lying on the bed. I am a bad person because I am doing harm to myself as my action made my mom beat me with chappal. I think I discovered a god today, I call the religion Momism.

It is painful to watch the reasoning of "Silver" and "Golden" given by the caller just so he can establish the 'Superiority' of his beliefs and God...while forgetting the fact that 'Doing Good' has never been an invention of religion but an idea hijacked by it.

Religion is just human understanding of moral values in organized form. And by your logic, if humans are the source of moral values then a organizing set of beliefs in moral values is not hijacking, just codifying.

@@avinashshinde1635 If you don't need religion to be Moral but Morality is something thats already present in human nature, then preaching any bullshit religion in a name of Morality is Hijacking. Consider this analogy If i steal your TV, wrap it up in my packaging and sell it back to you. Would you buy it? If your answer is No...then thats exactly what i meant about religion and morality it tries to sell. If your answer is Yes...well then there is no bigger fool in the world than you.

I would raise C.S. Lewis one more option to make it a quadralemma (or a tetralemma) instead. He could've been a 'Legend', an existent or non-existent human being, whose life's story has been embellished to mythological proportions.

The conversation was at cross purposes. Vimoh was not replying to the caller's queries. He was generalizing his responses. The golden rule can be argued as something that Immanuel Kant's refers to as the categorical imperative. When the caller asked about examples where this was used other than the bible, Vimoh s reply was that communities survived using that principle. That's a form of generalization rather than pointedly referring to any particular text, like Kant's principle, as a meaningful reply.

How does it matter? It's irrelevant. Vedas have so many golden rules, probably nowhere written before, also much older than cute little Bible. How does that enforced "originality" (cause we don't know who said them first ) makes the person God ?

huh?! Come on man, just because of the fact that this "Yeshua" was a "moral" teacher, doesnt mean they can't be mentally abnormal. Its like saying "Good people (whatever they are) can never be mentally ill(or have tendencies of those kinds)" when in fact they are unrelated

If each 'sentence' is taken on its own, sure... not every sentence have exactly same meaning as the others. But there is always implications among different sentences. For example, If your mom says "Don't go to school" ...the direct implication of that sentence is "Stay at home" even though your mom didn't explicitly stated that. Similarity, When it is stated "don't do harm"...the implication there is "do all those things that doesn't bring harm to others"... implying "all good things" Suggestion: Don't play idiotic word games just to satisfy your religious ego. Have some common sense, if it hasn't lost yet being a blind believer.

@@SUNDERTHOMAS1 If you remove all "Bad" Apples from the basket, all that remains are "Good" apples. Religion/Religious Books determining whats "Good" has always been a tactic to hijack human morality. And no wonder Jesus didn't understand 'Slavery' was a Bad thing. Probably if he went by the idea 'don't do harm' i am pretty sure he would have seen slavery is bad thing as it brings Harm. But because Bible defines 'Good' differently...the 'Bad Apple' what slavery is... went unnoticed. 😏 So how about that?

These so called rules were written by men ( not recordings ) who attributed it to Jesus teachings many and many years after his death. Thereby can not be proved the exact phrases that Jesus uttered. The same logical meaning phrases could be found in other texts. Many societies practice it due to its implications ( bartering, altruism ) without belonging to any particular religion It is like similar to saying 2+2=4 is the only golden rule not 1+3=4
