Jesús Armando Linares Pinto was born in Venezuela in the city of Valencia, capital of the Carabobo state, on August 4, 1971... His father (Armando Linares) is of Caracas origin and his mother (Sara Pinto) was born in the high valleys of Carabobo... His first year of life takes place in the mountains surrounding his mother's hometown (Montalbán) where his father worked as manager of a telecommunications station. Later the family moved to the mountains of Barquisimeto (Edo. Lara) also to a mountainous area, where the Father was assigned until 1980, the year in which they returned to Montalbán where he studied primary and secondary school, going to live in his hometown (Valencia) in 1987, at the age of 16, to begin his studies in Computer Science... In 1990 he began working in a private company, in 2004 having reached managerial positions within a local corporation, he suffered an episode of stress work, which ends up taking him directly to the couch of a psychologist assigned by the same company where he works... They recommend "doing something other than just working" and the only thing that occurs to him is to take a small 5MP Olimpus camera (which he had given his wife a few months before) and start taking photos while walking on weekends through the same mountains where he spent his first year of life... From 2004 to 2012 his love for photography only grew. er exponentially, during those first years his photographs tend to be of a naturalist theme... In 2012 he decided to leave his career and resigned from the company where he worked for more than two decades, he began to work for himself selling electronic parts and in that same year he makes his first forays into street photography, which over time, will end up becoming his true passion... Between 2014 and 2015 he tries to commercially exploit his photographic work, but after a couple of exhibitions and some events, he begins to feel an aversion to the simple fact of taking photos and also an absolute contempt for commercializing them... Such was the dimension of that depressive episode, that he was about to get rid of all his photographic equipment and return to the chair of some well-known psychologist, to try to start again... So It is how he comes to the conclusion that what he appreciates about photography is not the photography itself, but the way in which it is This activity allows you to unload yourself and be "just nobody"... Weird, right?... Well... And this is only a summary written in a way that is presumably suitable for the general public, since "raw" reality can sound even more Kafkaesque!

Gorgeous! He clearly has a great gift. And such diversity of tiny creatures! I wonder if all have been categorized.

Thanks for introducing me to this photographer's work. Great portraits and evocative scenery - looks simple but there lies a great skill in recognising and capturing images with such flair, great sense of feeling and warmth.
