There is no evidence that Jesus was seen by others before he descended into Heaven, just people saying other people had told them they had heard other people had seen him. Paul, the first to 'see' the risen Jesus does not describe a physical body or Earthly crucifixion.

He's that type of guy that wants to go on living a self-centered life based on pleasure seeking. No meaning, no objective standards to act upon or be judged by. Yeah, I remember ages ago an ex-bf of mine, who was a Christian before, came up to me with all this stuff and tried to say I was dumb for still being a Christian. The thing is though, at that point I was in my 3rd year of an archaeology degree and had studied ancient Greek, Roman, and Near Eastern religions at a university level. So I knew right away he was wrong in all his points; similar to how Maher is wrong here. And I told him so... At which point he said I was being arrogant and trying to lord my education over him as if it meant I was automatically right. Some people, there's just no winning with them.

I've only seen it once and tried to erase it from memory, but I just thought his constant mockery (combined with being high constantly) felt like desperate attempts for cheap laughs. I was in my mid 20s at the time and came from the era of reading books. So we didn't have RU-vid then and the small doses of Sam Harris and Hitchens etc were probably from shows like Maher. They at least seemed serious during those appearances. Felt like Maher really mailed it in with that documentary. Just felt like a turning point of sorts regarding the cool atheist kid vibe I was kinda putting out. Dropped my guard A LOT following.

The prophets including Daniel spoke of the time where several world empires would arise and fall including the Babylonian kingdom, Medes and Persians, Roman Empire, and Saladin and the Muslims which went in consecutive order for the past few millennia. The question begs how did two genders evolve from a common ancestor with a perfectly hospitable and sustainable environment with breathable oxygen and resources to survive on inexplicably? Atheists have the burden of proof to explain how everything came to be and why our existence is possible without the Existence of God from an godless perspective just as Christians have to provide evidence of God's Existence and the validity of His Word. Evolution requires life to already exist in order to take any effect in living organisms so it doesn't account for the existence of Life and reality. Also evolution is impossible because it goes against The Law of entropy and the second Law of thermodynamics because evolution makes things better whereas nothing continues to get better but decays and turns to absolute destruction in the end. Mark Ridley an Evolutionist said "No evolutionist whether gradualist or punctuationist uses the fossil record as evidence in favor of The Theory of Darwinian Evolution as opposed to special Creation". God's Existence is made perfectly known and observable in the universe as demonstrated in His Handiwork in the intelligently designed manner that Creation was made, human consciences and consciousness historical and archaeological evidence of God's Word being valid history, fulfillment of Bible Prophecies God in His Holiness and Righteousness could give us what we deserve in Hell for our since but He's merciful to give us free will to choose to accept or reject His gift of salvation by grace through faith in His Son Jesus. @@차강성 I’d be happy to answer. While I can’t give a super in depth answer in the comments section, I can definitely hit the highlights. First, if you read the Bible book by book just like how the books were written, instead of the whole Bible as one book there are a lot of contradictions. For example, Genesis chapter 1 and 2 if you read them separately tell two different creation narratives. In Genesis 1, God creates plants and animals and then creates man. However, in Genesis 2 it clearly states God creates man before he creates the plants. There’s also the notion of reading Old Testament passages that are used by Christian’s to claim prophecy of Jesus’ coming. For example, Isaiah 53 is a commonly used, however, if you read the chapter before Isaiah 52 you’ll see it’s clearly referring to Israel who was in Babylonian captivity. It doesn’t even mention anything about a coming messiah. There’s also the case that God is supposedly against human sacrifice, but then uses human sacrifice (Jesus) to start Christianity. There’s a difference between “forgiveness” and “atonement.” Forgiveness requires no further action, just repentance. Atonement requires a payment. If we as humans can freely forgive each other without human sacrifice, then why can’t an almighty God? Why does he require pain, torture, blood, and death to forgive us of our sins? He’s the one who makes the rules, so why did he require such a gruesome payment? Numbers 5 talks about how priests are to create a concoction and force a woman to drink it to see if she was unfaithful to her husband. If she was faithful then nothing happened to her, if she was supposedly unfaithful then her stomach would swell and she would miscarry if she was with child. God allows Job’s children to be killed to test his faith, and then blesses him with many more children after his test his complete. Children aren’t meant to be replaced but God treats them as pawns in Job’s story. Then there are all the stories of God allowing innocent children to die such as in the stories of Noah and Jericho. Judges 21 tells the story of how Israelite tribes killed nearby villages and kidnapped virgins to give to the tribe of Benjamin. There’s a ton more examples I could give, but when I read the Bible through a critical lens and not a filtered lens like I had all my life it was just hard to see that the God of the Bible was something I could believe in and devout my life to.
