I just stumbled across your channel. Someone put a link to your video for Pulk sled attachment points. Though I'd check it out. I plan on getting a Shappell Sled for some winter camping. Looked at your other videos and saw Kensington Park. Small world I used to live in Milford for about 3 years on Cooley Lake Road I remember the Blizzard of 78. I was 23 when when I lived there and am now 66. My Dad work at Ford. I now live in Eastern Oregon. Great sled mods.

I've built 3 different sleds now , all of which I have made with ideas from you-tube. It is always great to have more ideas. Thanks for posting yours. It gives me some options to try if my most recent one needs tweaking. : )

Thanks for watching and commenting. I watched plenty of videos before I built my pulk. Got a bit from each one. Cheers!

Maybe alternate the straps? One mounted on the inside the next mounted on the top extening horizontally? My thought is for the lower-height load, the horizontal would be less torque. Just a thought.

Hey excellent video, this is very inspiring. How are the PVC pipes holding up in the cold?? I was thinking about making this but with PEX pipes. Much thanks for the excellent content

Glad you found the video helpful. The RU-vid videos I watched prior to my build helped me a lot too. Thanks for watching, and no, I don't mind a shout-out, if you're so inclined.

They make clips for the molle webbing. Try that less movement.

Hello, I totally enjoyed your video you did a great job explains things. Two things, one a suggestion and the other a question. First, i was thinking about a small drill hole (1/16”) about 1/3 the way away from the final end cap to be assembled. This would allow for the pressure to be released and not having to hold while the adhesive sets up. What’s your thoughts???? Last, I’m sorry and not sure why but I didn’t capture nor understand why you used two different sized eye bolts for he pole ends. Please explain again and also give me he size info for each end (sled end, waist end). I know you stated it but for some reason I just didn’t follow it. You da man, thanks.

How strong is that strapping material? That's a great idea. Have you tried it through a single loop of webbing? Maybe it would move less.
@markhosbach9420
@markhosbach9420 4 года назад
Hi Johnny - Thanks for watching. The webbing I used is milspec, from a surplus USMC ILBE pack, which I modded. I'm sure it's way stronger than necessary for any load I'd be capable of pulling.

I just built my Jet Sled tonight. I did not have the hinge hardware so I just drilled holes and ran rope around the whole sled. I cut 7 inch pieces of pvc to run the rope through to use as handles. Got it all setup and said well I could just grab the lip! Each design is different and has advantages and disadvantages. I like your use of straps it’s very clean looking. Great job. Here’s to 40 more instead of 20 more winter adventures! Thanks for sharing! How is the glue holding up in the cold weather? Does it hold or did it crack on you?

Surf Earth - Thanks for watching, and the kind wishes. The glue Held fine for the one outing I was able to do with my sled at the very end of last winter. Have not been out with it yet this year. Weather has not been cooperative - lack of snow.

That attachment placement for the poles doesn't work if you have the cover. I found that out the hard way and had to move them to just underneath the lip.

Thanks for watching. I did not know there was a cover available. My plan was to use a tarp, if necessary.

@surfearth1 4 года назад
I didn’t know there were covers either! They have them on Amazon and elsewhere Shappell JS1-ATC-CV Jet Sled Camo Cover www.amazon.com/dp/B0075JN9WU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_gy9eEb152TGXX is I was building mine I was thinking a tarp won’t do any good if it’s edges a go to the inside of the tub and flush the water to the bottom of your gear....

@@surfearth1 The cover really does work well and it has enough space to cover a standing 5 gallon bucket.
