Funny how people would Google/RU-vid search JetBlue and he begins his with ’JetBlue’ he knows exactly what he’s doing. Hey, I’m just said that JetBlue is the best airline ever in New York. It’s my favorite I don’t know what happened with your flight but everyone’s flight is amazing. To be honest I’m just saying if it’s bad or something don’t go on it look at the reviews before but I am just saying to be respectful it’s my favorite and I everyone’s have a good day. to their airline it’s not the worst spirit is.

I watched until the end, very entertaining, then you said you were going to Mansfield I lived in Bellamy road estate back in the late 60's and worked at Rufford colliery, I believe the place would be unrecognisable to me now. Hi Lee, I have experienced arriving at Gatwick and find the Gatwick Express not to be running. After a long flight, it was horrendous having to get to London bridge and then home, although I live in London. The worst was returning from Mexico after a red eye flight. Suffering from the worst jet lag and having to sit on the floor to Victoria.

At least the train was empty lol. I have only ever met one other person from Mansfield it was when both of us where serving with BAOR. He was a Lbdr in the RA. Anyway we went to see Jaws but where a bit late so could only sit in row twi so virtually head back looking at the screen we where so close. Anyway this guy loves his sweets and would buy loads to go to the cinema with so we where just getting into the film, he being long legged had put his legs over the row in front, there was a part where a head fell out of the bottom of the boat, we all jumped with shock but of course he having a armful of sweets through his hands up showering the rows behind with sweets. We got a ticking off from the cinema manager for that lol

So far (2022), JetBlue only flies from JFK to Heathrow and Gatwick. Boston to both airports is coming later, but beyond that who knows...would love to see MAN added!

Airlines have been for several years...and with the A321XLRs (extra long range) coming soon, expect to see them on longer routes. They are perfect for long, thin routes! Airlines have been flying the single aisle Boeing 757 across the Atlantic for donkey's years, the seats are usually the same as in the widebody planes, so the differences are really not very substantial in Economy. Not to mention, a transcontinental USA flight is about the same as some Transatlantic flights, and they are almost the exclusive domain of single aisle aircraft these days. (I once flew JFK-San Francisco on a single aisle Airbus that took 6 hours 15 minutes, and two weeks later flew JFK-Manchester on a Boeing 767 that took 5 hours 25 minutes.)

The rubbish alongside the railways going into London from Gatwick is disgusting. Goodness knows what visitors think. If you don't need to be in London better off driving and leaving car in off airport parking. At least in control of your life.

You must have been lagged as hell. We once did an overnight from LAX to LHR and our lift never turned up. Ended up hiring a car to do the 250 mile journey to the wirral. Bad decision. Had to stop several times for a sleep.

It is 180 minutes ETOPS certified, so can fly single engine for 3 hours (no different to twin engine widebodies) and has enough range to fly another 1600 miles from JFK - LH

Airbus A321neo LRs (the more lengthy name for this plane type) are perfectly safe for flights from New York to London and beyond. Aer Lingus has been flying them to Ireland for years and TAP Air Portugal flies them to Lisbon from various northeast US airports. SAS recently started flying them from Scandinavia across the pond. As for a single aisle plane across the Atlantic, airlines have been flying the Boeing 757 for years! Prior to its major issues, the B737MAX also flew routes from Europe to North America (and I'm sure it will return to such duty.) I recently flew on a TAP A321LR from Newark to Lisbon and it was a perfectly acceptable plane for the purpose. From a comfort perspective, honestly the seat was the same as the seat on their A330neo widebody, which I flew home. It appeared to be the same seat made by the same manufacturer, and offered the same IFE. Assuming seat pitch was the same, nothing much separated the experiences, in my opinion. I guess the lines for the lavatories can be longer on the single aisle plane but the appeal of a twin aisle is lost a little if seated in the middle seats of economy as I was on the A330. What it comes down to is for a 6-8 hour flight, I don't have an issue with any narrowbody aircraft per se, of much more importance to me is seat comfort and service, etc. To each their own.

If you want JetBlue to comp you a mint trip you might want to avoid titling the video "The WORST Journey of my ENTIRE LIFE"!!! LOL!!! You gave them high marks but you would never know it from the video title.

In reality, while the A321LR may not be the best for long haul, it is still better than a 747, 787, or 10-abreast 777. The A321 has wider seats than any of these.

Loved the video. Food looked great. JFK experience less so. I'm flying the exact same flight this weekend back to the UK and have already pre-ordered the extra room - maybe a waste after watching your experience although I'm a little shorter. Just one observation - when I read the title of the video, I thought to myself, oh no what I have done booking Jet Blue. I've only ever flown transatlantic using BA or Virgin and thought 'the worst journey of your entire life' referred to the Jet Blue experience. Of course that turned out not to be the case, good old British trains being the offender. Might be worth changing the title though especially if you want Jet Blue to give that you that free Mint experience!

Didn't look so bad except for a lack of wingspan. You pay Economy you get Economy, (don't you own an electric Porsche?). Most of the US carriers give no amenity kits on international flights and definitely no the food choices. Looks like a good deal for the low budget traveller.

I work for JetBlue but sorry don’t have the clout to get you free passes on Mint; it’s a very different experience than Core (Economy) as you would expect from any airline’s business class. Glad you had two good flights on JetBlue, this is the first review I’ve seen to Gatwick! I think we offer a competitive product versus DL, UA, BA, AA and VS, but yes I agree £120 for a couple of inches of extra legroom isn’t a great perk considering our regular legroom isn’t too bad (in my humble opinion anyway.) I’ve flown Transatlantic economy on several different airlines in the past few years for reference, and only minor things separate the top carriers, which I feel include JetBlue, British, Delta and Virgin, and even those experiences can vary a lot by fleet type. Some people don’t like narrowbody planes across the Atlantic, but they are very common on transcontinental US flights which aren’t a whole lot shorter. In fact, in winter, a flight from New York to LA or San Francisco can be longer than a flight from New York to London! Sorry you had a journey from hell on the rails- those strikes are a killer. Hopefully next time you don’t have to deal with that.

I throughly enjoyed the New York videos Lee so thanks for those. Christmas 2006 was the last time I visted the city and I hear it's declined somewhat, with rising crime levels, garbage on the streets etc, is this true? I hope not, what are your thoughts mate?

Although I do not like narrowbodies for long haul, I think I'd rather fly with the A321NX than with the A330 tbh. Flew with Aer Lingus to NYC, but damn, that aircraft was so old and rubbish.

"The WORST Journey of my ENTIRE LIFE!?" - A bit misleading? However, I've one complain for JetBlue Management - they should provide at least a MEAL for any international flight more that 4 hours. Passengers will have to be at the airport 3 hours before flight for local country immigration and customs then US immigration and customs checks. A total of at least 7 hours without a proper meal! Prison food - "Water and Peanuts" don't cutting it!

I think it’s all in our minds. The width of the seats are 18 inches (one of the widest) and the seat pitch is 32 inches which is about the same or maybe more than most widebodies. It does look cramped until you’re in it unless you’re claustrophobic. In my opinion.

For queues I’d say Bristol airport in the UK is far worse than JFK. Security can take over 2 hrs. Went in May and was absolute chaos at Bristol.

Never tried JET BLUE but might give them a try as an internal US flight when I'm over there next. Not sure I'd be happy going transatlantic in an Airbus 321 though. Prefer business class in a wide body 777/787/330/350 or ideally if the option is there the 380.... super comfy.

Almost a click bait title, to me the flight looked pretty good. It would be the train journey our side of the pond that let you down. Then those bus rides around London. At least you got to see our fine capital. Yes you did look tired there Lee after 24 hours of travel but al in all part from the trains and buses it looked ok to me, but then I wasn’t the one travelling.🚅🚌🚖

Regardless of narrow or widebody it all depends on how the airliner setup the seats front to back. But lets face it, unless you get a business or first class seat, you are going to be cramped. It's not like if you fly on some old 767 you're going to be able to stretch out your legs in economy class.

Thanks Lee for an entertaining and interesting video. Jet Blue operates these long range Airbuses as it has less capacity to fill. It offsets the disadvantages of a single aisle aircraft with better on board service. I mean its Y class catering is better than other transatlantic airlines (who have cut back on catering in recent years to save money).

Flown single aisle aircraft with Air Transit from the UK to Toronto return last year. Out in daytime wasn't too bad but having a night flight back to the UK we booked their premium seats . Though it was more spacious on the return the in-flight service wasn't worth the higher cost. One cup of coffee with breakfast in a small plastic cup and the flight attendant not appearing so we could ask for a second cup was disappointing. Having flown with Air Transit on their twin aisle aircraft in the past their latest offewring has certainly gone down hill..

I'm not sure I could take a long haul flight in a single aisle airplane. Nice filming, but I turned off the sound during the music parts. Too annoying for me. It's not really music, just annoying sounds.

My son got caught in the rail strike on 25th trying to get to Nottingham from Birmingham (post 3 peaks). He ended up staying in Brum overnight till the trains sorted themselves out next day. Bet the first mug of tea when you got home was good.

That's just it. The flight was great. The bad part was the rail travel at the end, but from the title of the trip report, you wouldn't know it. Very misleading title.

Ok stayed to the end. Yes that was a trek getting back after you landed. I've seen other JB Mint class videos. If you can do it you should, it seems like a great experience. I agree the Pre check for TSA was well worth it. Looking forward to more videos.

The food on the return leg certainly looked better than the outward flight. You certainly chose the wrong day to come home, how you kept so calm amazes me. Jet Blue looks pretty good but personally not sure I could go for 7/8 hours on a narrow body, possibly in Mint but for the price other options would need to be considered. But great report.

Sorry you didn't take time to visit the TWA Hotel at JFK T5. It's truly an historical landmark/museum! Mint is the ONLY way to fly JetBlue!

here in USA we don't have enough pilots or FAA guys in the Tower; currently DELAYS every day at every hub. that being said, we here all know what to expect (not to expect) from our discount Airlines of Sprint, Frontier, Jet Blue . . . .none of the Businessmen (and women) take them; they all fly United or American out of LaGuardia so that is what "we in the know" do. That is domestic. To Europe? One of the major Airlines. You get what you pay for. Follow the business people and you will know. But before I forget, GREAT VID as always. WELL DONE

Another top drawer vlog Lee. Think you are being a bit unfair with the legroom. I watch loads of flight vlogs and in the 'cheap seats' your knees literally touch the seat in front. You had your legs stretched out and your knees were no where near the seat . Maybe not worth the money but I think you wouldn't have managed to walk so much when you landed had you had your knees next to your lugs 🤣

I honestly don't know how people can do long haul flights. I fly from Manchester to Greece which is a 4ish hour flight twice a year & I always get restless legs
