God, Joe really needs to get Clarkson and/or the whole trio of Clarkson, Hammond and May on the podcast. They've got so many crazy stories to tell!

The producer that got slapped, not punched btw, is Oisin Tymon. Anyone that’s been around this guy knows he’s a complete arrogant jerk that enjoys simply causing conflict so he can be at the center of attention. He’s the guy they should have fired before it ever reached that point. The only reason he even got the job at the BBC to begin with is because his rich daddy knew someone at the station in order to pull strings. Insult to injury, he had the nerve to extort 100k out of the BBC after completely ruining one of the greatest shows in television history, when he’s the one that repeatedly and deliberately antagonized Clarkson on numerous occasions. He’s like the guy that antagonized Tyson on the flight to get him to punch him so he could sue him for a big payout afterwards.

The show died when the 3 guys finished. End of an era. It's not even running any more as far as I'm concerned because it's barely a shadow of what it was.

My heart was broken when Jeremy and rest of the guys left top gear, i grow up watching that show, best car/comedy show ever. Chemistry between them was something special, and not something you can scripted or produced

Clarkson is a national treasure and Top Gear is lost without him and the boys, The Grand Tour is their new show and they do plenty of other things cos they are talented and very watchable gentlemen

The nerve of a producer to tell you not to talk to the hosts when they’re driving a car that YOU own and YOU customized. I would have told him to go pound salt.

I think the BBC thought they could get Jeremy out and replace him with a new host for a 'modern audience' and that May and Hammond would stick around but it backfired and they sided with the message instead of Top Gear.

From what I remember Jeremy was under allot of pressure at the time. Jeremy's mother had just died, Jeremy's marriage was on the rocks. Sometimes people has just had enough. He has never used those events as an excuse, not from what I have seen.

Clarkson was angry and punched the producer because he’d been filming all day from 7am till 7/8pm and hadn’t eaten since breakfast. When he arrived at the place he was going to stay over at they informed him that they didn’t do food. The producer said to Clarkson its ok I have a tin of soup in my car that I can give you (Yes he was serious). Clarkson was ravenous, wet and angry plus tiered so he punched him in the face. The next day they made up and apologised and carried on filming.

The thing is that the media reported the incident as if the producer told Jeremy there was no hot food so he punched him. It’s pretty evident from the stories from those who was there is that’s not the case at all.

The new “topgear” shouldnt be named “topgear” its not remotely close to being the same show, it was Jeremy, Richard, James and the Stig , now its some guests who are trying to copy legends with some driver named gitS (stig backwards because lets face it Stig belongs with its original parents) .

From what the newspapers say Clarkson, May and Hammond were boozing it up in a pub for hours and there was a helicopter waiting for them to takethem to the hotel. If they did booze it up they would have gotten to the hotel on time and Clarkson could have fed his face.

this sounds like a massive lie. for one top gear had a very good mechanic team that fixed pretty much any problem that they ever had on their journies so the story about him watching football and if something breaks they cant come to help is complete bollocks since top gear would have been fine with their own mechanics. i remember the episode the cars in question werent exactly a special spec of car it was just a standard ford raptor f150 for clarkson if i remember and possibly a chevy pick up for james while hammond was "stuck" on a mountain.

Need to do some fact checking. Clarkson went to the pub then came back to the hotel late and wanted food but the kitchen had closed. He demanded the producer get the kitchen to open for him which the producer wouldn't do so he punched him . He was drinking and punched a colleague. If you think that was ok then give it a try sometime and see how much sympathy you get.
