You are quite literally the reason I purchases the Benson Preamp/Kilt V2 combo. The V2 does everything I need and sounds great. There are not enough MAJOR differences that make me feel the need to spend $$$ on a V1.
If you listen to this video as a background video you won't hear a difference lol. Also one thing people need to take into consideration is that the sound engineer at FOH will end up EQing the heck out of your tone regardless of which Kilt you have.
I had both and ended up with v1. Should have tested next to each other but I kinda feel the v1 drive section has a lot more output than what v2 had. What’s your take?
@@jmd12331 I think to me they were pretty dang close as far as output but my amp settings might have been running out of headroom. I did not compare them with super clean amp settings which I should have probably done so I can’t say for sure which had more output.

oh I also forgot to answer the first part of your question. Yes I am running each side of my stereo signal chain going mono into each one as if running 2 amps, so you are hearing them together hard panned left and right.
@@quiksilver78 one thing about running those two together is they are out of phase. You will want to swap the phase on one side using either your daw or a pedal that can swap phase like the good wood Audio output tx. If you are not doing that already that could be why it sounds small.
How effectively can you make evaluations with monitors behind you? in an untreated room with one speaker stuffed in a corner and the other with the port right against the wall. Just saying, pretty hard to make critical comparisons.
In my opinion as long as the environment is the same and unaltered between comparisons that’s all that matters. If I need all that to make critical comparisons it won’t even matter for the average listener at that point or for live mix where those subtleties are going to be buried🤷
@@lightfootfx I have this and the protein by browne amplification and they pair well. But I keep tone about 9ish. Maybe a hair above. Kilt with the blue side of the protein is a sweet kiss of hairy overdrive. 🤣
Like a fender 65 amp? Yeah they are good for worship, I prefer a fender 68 though if we’re talking amps it’s like the 65 but breaks up a little earlier which is what I prefer. 65 is cleaner but can still break up.

The creaotr of the pedal already told that they are exctley the same. There are tons of videos confirming that. What happen is that people like to create fake hypes just for the sake of aparently uniquiness. "Since one is not made anymore, It got to be especial". That is just stupid. It serves those who want to boost the sales of the older on internet. Those who say that the version 1 is different from the version 2 could not diferenciate them in a blind fold test. It is another pedal scam...
