Gotta appreciate how Jiaying was willing to die protecting Daisy. She didn't know Daisy at all, but she didn't need to. Just knowing that Daisy is her daughter was enough for her. Crazy how such a good person could be warped so badly into what she was in season 2. Just as Radcliffe said, everyone is capable of anything depending on the circumstances. A good person can be warped to do terrible things.
she was experimented and mutilated. before that, she lost her first daughter because kora end her own life and that probably took a great toll on her. its not a surprise Jiaying become evil. its sad really. probably the most tragic AOS villain
It’s why the writers provided the means to forgive ward and showed how evil Fitz could be in the framework. It’s thematically consistent that anyone is capable of anything if pushed to it. This has never been a story about ‘good’ guys and ‘bad’ guys.
@@bagussetoaji4044 actually this quote was from Season 1 from that one guy that Coulson and May met in order to look into Daisy's past. marvelcinematicuniverse.fandom.com/wiki/Richard_Lumley
The greatest gift was never her powers, but her daughter. I had goosebumps cause it was the opposite of what Jiaying said to Daisy in season 2 finale! THIS is the true Jiaying as her husband Cal said all along.
@@ielastrika Whatever the Malick family touches, they all die. Even towards each other. Nathaniel's fate was to be sacrificed to HIVE by his own brother Gideon who was no better. Even their father was even more ruthless. I hope they all burn in hell!!!
Just this whole video is deja vu. Back in season 2 when Jiaying was trying to kill Daisy she told her that she used to think she was her greatest gift but it was actually her power. Now she's saying she used to think her power was her gift but it was actually Kora. Love how this whole season really gave us a glimpse of what she was like before the trauma, before Kora's death, before whitehall, before SHIELD. It's makes me cry. It so beautiful with what they've done. Love the parallels too. Both Kora and Daisy shooting themselves, the glasses, the music, Jiaying being protective. When Jiaying tried to kill Nathaniel to protect her daughter that she didn't even know, that was heartbreak. Especially when she died. Daisy was nervous to touch her, with the memories she had about dying to Jiayings touch maybe. I honestly cannot wait for next weeks episode. I wish I wouldn't have to wait another week. And let's hope no more tears are shed, which is pretty impossible by now. I feel impatient waiting a week for a new episode so how can I make it when aos is over. When I wait for countless months and nothing new. Maybe years, what'll I do
Bruh I've been rewatching season 2 and just finished it yesterday before watching this episode this morning. I wasn't gonna finish it yesterday but decided to because I had time. I'm so glad I did. This scene hit harder since the scenes with Jiaying turning on Daisy were very fresh in my mind. I was almost in tears watching this scene.
So glad Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was able to bring back Jiaying. Dichen Lachman looks like she has not aged at all since season 2, always liked her acting and her character though this episode really won me over to both.
Her and Mo are best friends and they had there kids on the same day during Season 2 and Dichen's husband was on the show for years as Agent Davis ( lover of LSD puffs ) Dichen and Mo's daughters are also best friends and there was great shots of them all going to see Chloe when Abominable was debuting in LA
I think this scene finally gave daisy the closure she needed with her mother. She got closure with Cal but never with Jiaying and I think it plays a powerful role in wrapping up daisy's story.
Beautfiul and painful at the same time--Daisy seeing the version of her mother she wished for all her life. Incredible writing idea to revisit pivotal series characters, before their things went bad.
Okay but anyone else have a laugh at how this a reunion in more ways than one? Looking at you Dollhouse alums Enver has literally been with both of these two (well not officially with Daisy yet but still)
I’m so mad at IMDb! 😂 they said Sousa would only be in 7 episodes but luckily this was his seventh and he’s still here. But I was nervous the entire episode.
IMDB can be trustworthy for most of its content, but it's not trustworthy for a few things, like trying to look up quotes from a movie. I even saw on Avengers Endgame the moment Peter and Carol had that interaction together, I read "I am Peter Parker", which hilariously had Gamora's name next to the line instead of Peter's.
Honestly, this scene right here closed Daisy's past full circle. She solved her issues with her dad and gave him peace and ease of mind while she let him go adopting Coulson as her surrogate father. On her mother's side though, that didn't have an ending, you could tell she resented her mother for all the stuff she did, that's why Daisy never really made May her surrogate mom. Now, this scene really gives Daisy peace and closure to her issues with her mom. "I can't speak to your mother's reasons but for me, sometimes doing the right thing comes out all wrong."
Why is it, that this season is so great and it's the last one. Another heart break for Daisy, she lost everyone she ever loved and now Jaiying twice. The sad thing is, what I think hurts the most for Daisy as she seen what kind of person Jaiying was before Whitehall, how she was a caring loving mother who onely wanted to protect her daugthers, she protected Kora all her life and she gave her life to protect Daisy from Nathanial. I still think the team will go back in time, before the Chronicome landed in the 30's to prevent this but the sad thing is, even if they fixed the timeline, for Daisy, hee mum, also Kora and Coulson will still be dead. Also, another thing, if they fix the timeline, Daniel Sousa may still die as the team would never needed to go to the 50's so DS wouldn't be saved. I hope not as Daisy needs a HEA, well as much as you can being the in the marvel universe. Lets hope this is not the last we see of Skye, that she is in the movies or a new spin off.
That only if your using bttfs time travel there using endgame version so nothing can stopped now sousa can still be alive in the time line as people can be brought over
I think the main characters from Agents of Shield might have a role in other Marvel Cinematic Universe TV Shows and Movies. Also, an android Coulson makes sense since there might be Marvel Fans who only watch the movies but not the TV Shows.
next phase will build-up to S.W.O.R.D you might get Shield in the new Disney streaming shows but it's done in the movies also Feige won't have cross overs from other series Coulson would be an expectation but with all the random bs that's happened to him I really can't see it! He doesn't even want the punisher or daredevil from Netflix
Let's hope so. His new form indeed would make a lot of sense. Problem is, they are already stuck in an entirely different, messed up timeline. So the only way he can return to MCU, is via jumping through multiverse. Soo... after WandaVision & Doctor Strange 2? 🤔
@@sprocket-YT I think there's more of a chance now than before. We got a Netflix Daredevil cameo in No Way Home and Netflix Kingpin as the villain in Hawkeye. If they were willing to do that, they might be willing to throw in a couple AoS characters down the road (I've seen a lot of demand for Daisy)
Kind of like the Tony-Howard Stark scene from Endgame in terms of the feels... Only took a tragic twist 😭 Can't believe we have just 2 more weeks... Really hope Feige & Marvel allows Chloe (along with Charlie Cox & Bernthal) to be absorbed into the main MCU.
I like that the writers are going with the most evil villains they have faced. Easily the story of Daisy's mom is evil and sad. The whole thing about Hydra experimenting on people and taking their powers and them showing us makes my skin crawl and feels come up Everytime they touch on it.
This episode was so heartbreaking, my jaw actually dropped when Jiaying died, thank goodness they can bring her back to life like Cal did when Whitehall butchered her in S2. They need to bring Jiaying back to life again (drain all the bad guys that should already be dead if they need to, IDC) because if this turns into a alternate reality or parallel universe thing & that is why Daisy is still alive, I'm not going to be a happy camper (as it effectively renders the entire purpose of their time traveling to save their own reality obsolete, meaning there is no point to anything they are doing, which sucks IMO), besides Daisy & her Mother need more than 30 seconds of happiness together before one of them dies IMO. Dichen's & Chloe's acting was standout, especially in their last scene- Dichen absolutely nailed showing all the emotions Jiaying was feeling as Malicks bombshells hit her one after the other, no words required to understand what was going through her mind in those moments. Heartbroken, blown away & desperate for Daisy to somehow get to live with a version of her parents that aren't mentally & emotionally twisted by past events is how I'm still feeling the day after watching the episode (I know that won't happen- truma is Daisy's middle name on this show, but I can dream :p )
I can't believe that the writers did that to Daisy again. First Mack, now Daisy. Seems like at this point that the team needs either to go back to the Lighthouse in the year 2019, and stop the Chromicons from attacking the base, or prevent Izel from destroying their planet in the first place.
at this point i actually want the team to bring Izel back to this timeline and team up with her to destroy every chronicom in the most painful way possible.
I just wanted to say that I have been a fan since the pilot of season 1, Agents of S.h.i.e.l.d. was the first comic book show I ever saw. I was 10 when this premiered on ABC and now I'll be 17 watching the 2 hour series finale. I'm sure ABC and marvel tv have good reasons for ending this show and I can't wait for next weeks episode. This show helped me move forward with my life when times were hard, But there was Agent Coulson and Quake who helped pick me get back up. Everyone has put in so much effort is so many different ways. Coulson, Daisy, Sousa, May, Fitz, Simmons, Enoch, Mack, Yoyo, Lincoln, Robbie Reyes, Deathlok, Deke, Dr. Ratcliffe, Bobbi, Hunter, Davis, Piper, Triplett, Mace and Ward have all changed my life and I will never forget anything about what these wonderful producers and writers have done. For Everyone who worked on this for continuing Coulson's story and crafting such a great character like Daisy Johnson (Skye), I wanted to say to all the wonderful Actors, ABC and Marvel Entertainment. Thank You For Everything
the amount of irony in this scene. normally, it's the girl convincing the guy to talk to the parents, but here it's the other way around. SPOILERS BELOW but in all seriousness, I'm now 79% sure Sousa's not biting it at the end of the season. they've set up this "curse" for Daisy so well "wherever she goes, death follows." that EVERYONE would think the writers are gonna be cruel and have maybe Nathaniel kill Sousa in the finale to push Daisy over the edge. but the fact that they pulled that with Jiaying in this episode, it seems more likely they're gonna let Daisy and Sousa off the hook. it's like when Endgame was coming out and people were speculating on whether Steve or Tony were gonna die. but...I've been wrong before. so let's just cross our fingers and pray everyone will make it out ok.
Well Jiaying love Daisy as well. It's just that she lost a part of her soul as well as her humanity after what Whitehall did to her. There's a sneak peek from season two a flashback of the night Daisy was born weeks before Jiaying was taken by Whitehall. Jiaying begged Cal Daisy's father to promise that if anything happened to her that he'll always protect their daughter Daisy. The Jiaying that Daisy met in season 2 wasn't the real Jiaying. Cal even said that Jiaying came back change. But she did love Daisy and at one point she would've done anything for her. But writehall changed Jiaying into an entire different person. Daisy would've been good enough for this Jiaying. The one still connected to her humanity. Hell she was even willing to die to protect Daisy someone she hardly knew all because she was her daughter.
@@Commander_Shepard. hope to end of series finally daisy's talking her place in afterlife continues on mother path, as a leader of inhuman helps others who's had inhuman gifts

This is an interesting closing to a story arc that started years ago in season 2 on this show when they visited Jiaying (Dichen Lachman) the first time and at the end of her "life." In a way, I like the show going back to Daisy's beginning to end the series - considering it is her character that will continue after the show ends. I like Dichen Lachman's acting - she is really good. If you watch Altered Carbon Season 1 on Netflix you get to see another side to her.
@@tandfadams5535 Yes, she has had an extensive career - some action roles as well. Arrow on the CW was another. Neighbors she was in over 100 episodes. Dollhouse (where Josh Wheedon met her) she was in 27 episodes. She actually is a well known actor - I just pulled from what she has been in pretty much most recently. I like her acting to be honest.
You know before time was changed. Kora probably succeeded in pulling the trigger. And that probably led Jiaying to leave afterlife and go to China where she would meet Cal. She probably blamed herself and afterlife for it for a time. And then Daisy happened and she returned because she knew she needed not to be a monster. That's probably what started her path to being dark and an enemy of Shield
Minah Bradshaw that’s true, I just feel bad for Jiaying in both timelines. In one her daughter probably killed herself and then she moved found love lost her second daughter when she was captured and tortured and dissected and then ended up being killed by the joint efforts of her daughter and the man she loved. And in the other she had to suffer through her people being killed, her daughter betraying her, and when she learned of her other future daughter and the trauma she caused and what Nathaniel did to her daughter she was then killed by Nathaniel....
She may not be fully dead. Im pretty sure when Whitehall cut her up, she was dead but after being pieced back together, and her power was used, she was restored so she may be alive still. Coulson is walking proof that people have a hard time dying permanently in this show.
If Jiaying doesn't know that Daisy's her daughter? I'll watch the whole of Agents of SHIELD backwards. She's worked it out, she knows that something happened to her between 1983 and Daisy's birth that broke the link between mother and daughter, something so awful Daisy never knew her as she is now. Also, given she stated she knows Daisy's powers were stolen? I think she has a pretty good idea what's in store for her if Hydra capture her again. But who could ever imagine what Daniel Whitehall did to her? I start to wonder if Whitehall will make it around to 1989 this time around...
Actually what happened to Jiaying that broke the link between mother and daughter happened after Daisy was born. There's a flashback deleted scene for season two with Jiaying and Cal. It's the night Jiaying was given birth to Daisy. She begged Cal asking him to promise her that if anything happens to her talking about herself that no matter what he'll always protect Daisy. He killed Jiaying himself years later keeping that promise. This flashback shows Jiaying as a loving mother who only wanted to protect her baby Daisy. A few months after Daisy was born Jiaying was captured by Whitehall and Cal left Daisy with a friend he trusted to find her. He found Jiaying in a ditch and put her back together. When they returned for their baby. Daisy was gone and they thought that it was Shield that took her. But it was hydra in disguise as shield. Shield rescued baby Daisy from hydra and Daisy was put into an orphanage that was order to move Daisy every few months to protect the baby and keep Daisy from being found by whom was after her. After what Whitehall did Jiaying was never the same. She lost a part of herself her soul and humanity.
I have. A feeling the future changed and afterlife is still around daisy will be a leader raina foretold it taking her mothers place as daisy has helped lots of people with powers it would make sense after what happen with jiaying making a safe place
As someone who only watched seasons 1-4, this makes me really nostalgic. I don't know if I should keep watching. I haven't watched it in years. Is it worth it?
It's really worth it in my opinion. Also, the nostalgic hits me hard the moment Garrett told Coulson vaporized him with the space laser gun. It brought me all the way back to season 1's finale! 😂😂😂
I have so many questions. I haven’t watched endgame so please don’t spoil. Haven’t had the time. I’ve seen the other comments tho and understand that Daisy can still live with the whole “other timeline/new past timeline.” But my theory is in the original timeline Whitehall dissected Jiaying right and she lost her powers then Cal put her back together again. But what if when jiaying got her powers back that time she didn’t get ALL her powers back. Meaning there was more potential to it. So therefore in this timeline where she wasn’t dissected yet, what if she has the ability to come back to life after death since she sucked some life out of Malick? Does that make sense? At least this way Daisy can have her biological family again like what she wanted in Season 1. Like full circle.
Also, what is sad about this scene, where Jaiying says Kora is her greatest gift, in season 2 finale as she was killing Daisy, she said her inhuman power, not Daisy was her greatest gift, talk about mind fuck.
I felt really betrayed when her true colors were revealed, but seeing Jiaying also the way I felt she was is at least heartening. However, this also seems to cement it was still her all along as she seems so much more benevolent here, but she got much darker over time.
it's a mini reunion of Victor and Sierra hah, surprised that Victor hasn't remember Sierra yet jk. but seriously I'm happy seeing Dichen and Enver on screen together again 💗
This show has been so cruel to Daisy. I mean first she grows up alone Then when she finds a family (SHIELD) she’s shot, and she gets betrayed by the guy she is dating (potentially in love with) Then she learns that her father is a psychopathic villain Then she gets transformed into an inhuman technically against her will and she becomes hunted by Shield by the people she thought she could trust Then her mother betrays her Then Hive takes control of her and Lincoln dies Then everything with the Framework and then also everything with season 5, I mean being told she ended the world and thinking she was the destroyer and then having to have Phil Coulson, a man she loved, die because she used his cure to stop Talbot Then she had to watch someone use Phil’s face and fight him And then she was almost dissected and had her blood drained so that Nathaniel could become like her Then her mother dies again and she had to fight her sister Like the amount of trauma she’s gone through is not fair
The Inhuman Royal Family from the Inhumans television series back in 2017 wouldn't be in season 7 of Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. because some of them were still children and some of them were not born yet in 1983 and most of the Inhumans on Earth in 1983 doesn't know about the existence of Attilan.
