I grew up in a strongly Christian family and have been within Christian communities my whole life. What jidion is doing now is what I’ve seen dozens of times from people that crave attention and the need to feel special and use the religion to fulfill that need for them. I am confident that if jidion was just as trending as he was in 2020- 2021 we wouldn’t be seeing any of this. I can count on one hand the number of “real” Christians I’ve met in my life.

as a muslim convert I feel like jidion could have taken his time with this, doing a 180 is never the best thing to do cause of certain habits a person build their entire life is so hard to get rid of overnight. I think Jidion truly is trying to change but, in the most respectful way possible, he isn’t mature enough or doesn’t have a level of introspection that would allow for him to do so. So this was the only way that he really knew how to do so. I’m not trying to insult him, most people just don’t have the tools to improve on their own. It reminds me of my own parents, they have mental and character issues that’ll unfortunately probably never be truly addressed because according to them “only god can fix me” or “god is my therapy”. I understand religion is supposed to be a healer, but it never sat right with me that people always came to it in such bad states.

I think people are just jumping to conclusions and instantly categorizing it as something because we’ve had disingenuous examples in the past To me, this is just a person taking full accountability for their actions by explaining themselves and letting his followers know where his mind is at. It’s a starting point and it’s also a message what to expect going forward and potentially inspire others to follow suit

He very clearly doesn’t know any of these people, they’re all strangers so how is he supposed to reach out individually? If anything, this public announcement will give the opportunity to the people he has wronged to reach out to him, whether to reconcile or enforce their frustration. And I’d argue even putting yourself in a position to the world to apologize is more admirable than to just handle it privately as you’re vulnerable to scrutiny and you’re also putting forth a message to be better, allowing for others to maybe be inspired to do the same and apply these actions into their own lives

He could have changed his content and then started an alternative channel(Gidion) to direct his viewership to. Gods ultimately wants you to save as many souls as possible. Two reasons as to why people don’t check for false translations on bible verses: 1. They’re ignorant to the fact that there even is other translations And 2. They know it’s not biblically accurate but still cling to it because it fits their own narrative and use it to justify their actions.
I holy respect the decision to move forward and find a purpose in a religion. I do feel like using it though as a way to apologize and get closer with “God” or the higher being is something I do think doesn’t fully mend what he feels bad for doing. If he wanted to apologize, a better way would’ve been to just take the knee and admit the wrongdoings and that you would like to move forward in better spirits. Many people who are christian practice their beliefs on their own time in their own home and don’t even go to church or engage with other christian’s regularly. It is a choice made by them to have faith in god, not something that is forced upon them by somebody else. Christianity and the new testament are much more a guide to live a positive life and a call for people everywhere to live up to the moral standard set by Jesus in the bible. Just because some people misinterpret biblical text or take it too literally does not inherently make the religion a cult, It’s certain people who call themselves ‘christian’s’ who give the religion a bad name.
