Jig thumping king salmon are my favorite thing ever but float fishing with skein for king salmon and coho is so productive that we had to do a bit of both on this salmon fishing trip! This time of year the king salmon stack up at river mouths that connect to Lake Michigan and anglers have an opportunity to catch fresh king salmon without taking a charter boat out to lake Michigan.
It is exciting to get the first few salmon out of the way and now I am looking forward to fishing for them in the rivers!
