@@Rjensen2 I don't think Meltzer changed so much as he became engrossed with Tony Khan and AEW. He just showed he's capable of being flattered into giving good reviews and opinions of a promotion and so showed what he really is. In other words, Bruce saw Dave for what he was before Corny and Brian did.
Brian and Bruce going at it with Jim playing pissed 3rd fiddle was hilarious. I don't know much about Bruce but he and Brian went at it for 20 minutes straight and it was interesting
@@MrT571 No, it definitely didn't. Some people in these comment section have such a weird hatred for Meltzer that they either make up lies or they repeat lies they've heard elsewhere. Not all of his detractors-some bring up valid points. It's really weird. They do the same thing with Cornette.
Jim Cornette isn't smarter than Bruce, he's more willing to be HONEST than Bruce is. Bruce just wants to kiss Vince's ass. I'm convinced that he's just constantly trying to get Vince to see him out there defending everything that Vince has ever done in the history of ever in the hopes that Vince will give him another job.
To sum up everything Bruce claimed "I've never read anything he's written, but he's lied about a lot of shit." Okay. But you've never read it. How would you know? Would you like to reveal your source Bruce?

Bruce is totally wrong on the WM 32 attendance thing. Vince McMahon himself at one of their investors meetings said the attendance number they announced for the Dallas show was for "entertainment purposes." That didn't come from Dave Meltzer, it came from the owner of the company's mouth. Wrestling promotions have been announcing worked attendance figures for years, for Bruce to act like that's some absurd idea, he's the one with no credibility.
Link your source.... I own over 100 shares of WWE and receive every financial report released for each quater. During earning announcements they tell us specifically if anything is different than reported. They do not falsify numbers intentionally, especially to investors as you claim. If so quarter and semi annual audits turned over to the SEC would be flagged. You can view the 10K or 10Q reports sent to the SEC as they're public records. However if you can provide information to back up this claim I'd love to know.

Elon was annoyed by short sellers, so he floated a complete BS tweet that he had the financing to go private and the stock spiked. That cost him $40 million. It's such a corporate thing to do. I've seen it plenty of times working in offices. When you try to explain to someone why they wrong were wrong, they don't own up to it, they just pretend they don't understand you.

On the Montreal Screwjob episode after Jim sees the screw job go down, he says that he calls Meltzer and tells him what happened. Later on in the episode, they have Russo and Cornette talk about whose idea the screw job was, Meltzer says that Cornette told him.
Brian Last needs to learn that reporting is not taking info from an anonymous source and putting it out there as the gospel. A real reporter checks that info against other sources to see if it is credible. Meltzer only prints what fits his narrative. He is a mark for himself.

To all those saying Bruce is only towing the company line, Brian is towing the wrestling journalist line. Bruce was present for the Montreal stuff, none of you were, and Bruce is simply saying based on Dave’s extensive reporting on Montreal, which was factual but one sided because he only reported what Bret said, he doesn’t care much for his writing or reporting as it pertains to other things since it could be the same. It was biased which Bruce doesn’t care for. Yet Brian takes that to mean Bruce disagrees with wrestling journalism as a whole. Bruce isn’t saying that. Brian is jumping to that conclusion based on Bruce not caring for Dave Meltzer’s journalism. It’s annoying. And Brian chortles on about how much he knows about wrestling. Who cares?
I can get 100K people in a building but it doesn't mean they all paid to get in. Counting all the operations staff working at the venue, comp tickets, press, and finally paid tickets there could have been 100K in attendance. But it is misleading to just say we had 100K attending but maybe 90K actually paid lol.
Funny, Brian didn't push back on several wrestlers that buried Meltzer worse than Prichard did. Why didn't Brian push back on Nash, Al Snow, Taker, etc during interviews with them? meltzer is a leach.

My problem with Pritchard is that he makes the same mistake as a lot of folks do when it comes to the press, which is to blame the press for what they are told by people in the business.
It’s like Pritchard doesn’t know how reporting and media works. Both of these 2 have the best shoot interviews. Bruce and Crony's podcasts are the best ones around. I hate the spotfest/ modern wrestling. I am 30 and grew up hating these 2 guys as heels. Brother Love and Corny with his racket were my most hated managers in WWE and WCW. I had a hot box growing up (all pay per views for free all year) and watched as many wrestling pay per views as I could and every raw/saturday night WCW for 10 years from about 5-15. THE DIFFERENCE IN WRESTLING NOW IS LIKE CORNY AND PRICHARD SAY WRESTLERS WERE CRAZY BASTARDS WHO COULDNT DO REAL WORK. THE CHARACTERS WERE SO CRAZY IN WRESTLNG IT FELT LIKE YOU NEVER KNEW WHAT WAS GONNA HAPPEN IN THE RING AND ON THE MIC. Besides Hogan droppn legs and winning clean lol.
Did Corny say Russo came up with the screw job finish? He has recently admitted he came up with the finish and gave it to vince ona whim. I love Corny but the truth is i. 2023 90% of these podcasts are "working the audience" to sone degree. Podcasts are more compelling than the actual modern product. Who wouldve guessed it?
