The only time they got it right was Tough Enough 3. Nidia and Maven couldnt hold a candle to Chris Nowinski (whos done more to help the sport outside the ring) and they picked Linda who knew absolutely nothing about wrestling & never wanted to be in wrestling over how many women on the indy circuit that could go? At least 3 got Johnny Nitro and Matt Cappotelli out of it. Matt would have been great if he didnt have brain cancer may he RIP.

The problem Johnny Ace never learned is that when you pick ppl that arent wrestling fans, more often than not they're not going to put the same passion into it like a Mick Foley or John Cena would. A lot of ppl that came in from 01-04 quit the entire business by 2006 because they found something else to do. A lot of guys in the mid 90's work to this day but that Johnny Ace era is horrifying

Cornette, Danny Davis and Finlay were given the impossible task of turning non-wrestlers into wrestlers in 5 minutes. Johnny Ace would hire women in underwear catalogues and tell them to put them in the ring and on camera immediately. Thats why a lot of divas got hurt is because they didnt know how to protect themselves. Not even the best male wrestlers were anything special their rookie year (sans The Rock) so its unfair to expect Jillian Hall, Nidia or even Linda to work like Lita, Ivory and Molly out of the gate. Thats why I never blame the divas themselves for stinking up the ring, they were put into an impossible situation

Baba Yaga man i hate that 2000s era in the divas division really annoyed me, cause for one they were being treated as pieces of meat, two most of them weren’t even wrestling fans and you could tell cause most women wrestlers from the 2000s have now since retired and third of all they couldn’t even wrestle, now i get that they couldn’t wrestle cause they were basically models, but man it was just agonizing to watch the divas division and women wrestling in the wwe during that time period in the 2000s really did suck so fuck you johnny ace.

I'm not impressed. All the jumps and diving spots are overrated. Where's the selling, the timing, storytelling, character development, knowledge of history and passion of wrestling? 3 matches and he got hurt in the second. John Morrison was the only legitimately, longtime successful winner of it. Everyone else who won either had short runs, were duds, or things just didn't work out for them. Morrison's fellow co-winner that year, Matt Cappotelli, would've probably been a success in wrestling as well, had he not had recurring brain tumors. Poor dude. But yeah, it's otherwise been a case of runner-ups being the successful ones.

Nidia was probably the most successful winner.

Morrison was a Season Three co-winner. He is by far the most successful winner of Tough Enough.

I also would say in TNA America's Most Wanted and Triple X we're both amazing teams. On Raw, they also had The Dudley Boyz, Kane and Rob Van Dam, and Booker T and Rob Van Dam were really great tag teams as well.

Damaja and Basham go back to 1999. He was begging Vince to call them up years before they actually were. If Doug and Damaja were brought up unaltered in 2001 they could have worked with Edge and Christian, The Hardys, the Dudleys, etc

Even the greatest male wrestlers were dogshit as rookies so its unfair to expect the "divas" to be Eddie Guerrero with 6 months or less of training.

Here's the thing, Linda was a John Laurinitis hire. She was a college volleyball player that knew nothing of the wrestling business and it showed. She trained for about 8 minutes before Johnny hounded Jim to put her on TV which is why she hurt Jillian Hall. From 2017-19 WWE started hiring women off the indys and MMA to work with lifers like Nattie Niedhart and Charlotte. The reason the diva matches were horrible from 2004 to 2015 were unprepared and inexperienced women that Johnny HAD to see on TV.
