He did say "I knew it!" after the fall. He's said in interviews that he mentioned to the crew that they need to cut that piece of the wall cause it would cause issues. Thus why he blurted that out audibly during the segment.

Stid as Arn seemed to be calling him as the voice of the shock master.

He deserves a Hall of Fame induction just for trying to save that dumpster fire alone.

You can hear him say "Oh god," and "I told you" as the camera fixes on Shockmaster. He regains his composure and really tries his best to sell him as a threat.

Survivor Series 96. He was more well liked over the top face at the time, Shawn Michaels.

For sure, still these days that incident often comes to mind when I see Sid or hear any mention of him. I think he was yelling " They're all gonna learn!" or something close to that.

@Telly Delucca go look at the tapes my man. Sid was getting way more positive responses than Shawn was at that time. Hell, even at WM 11 the crowd was cheering Sid's name even as Shawn was tearing it up in the ring with Diesel. By Survivor Series 96, Shawn got booed out of MSG and the "smart" New York crowd was cheering Sid. Even when he beat up an old man lol.

@Telly Delucca when Shawn brought Sid in as his bodyguard in 95, at Mania that year the crowd cheered more for Sid just for standing outside the ring then for either Shawn or Diesel inside the ring. And when Shawn brought him back again in 96 to replace Warrior, Sid was getting such positive reactions from the crowd that they scrapped plans to put the title on Vader and put it on Sid instead. Yes, Shawn had a say in it as he preferred working with Sid over Vader, but still. And yes Shawn got over, but by Nov. 96 his popularity began to wane. Blame it on fickle fans if you want, Shawn's act had gone stale and the fans prolly just wanted to cheer somebody new. By 97 when Shawn fully turned heel, a lot of the heat he was generating was go away heat. Sid's popularity at the time was pretty inexplicable, but it was also undeniable. It's cliche, but Sid had "it", and in a lot of ways represented the soon to come Attitude Era, with fans cheering bad ass antiheros and booing white meat babyfaces, which is what Shawn was in 96 by his own admission.

Sid was more over as a face than shawn in 96. But because he was unpredictable and didnt always work with the promoter, he never had any long term plans.

@Telly Delucca you know that Raw match with HBK and Sid was taped, right?! The WWE added in cheers for Shawn and all their babyfaces back then. And that hate for Shawn didn't just last one night, Shawn was teasing a heel turn up until RR 97 when the crowd reaction for him in San Antonio was so big they scrapped it. And what MSG show two months later are you referring to? A house show?! The WWF didn't run another televised show from MSG until Sept. 97, when Austin stunned McMahon. You're saying that Shawn was the company's top babyface at that time, and that is true. I'm saying whenever Shawn and Sid worked together, either in singles against each other or in tags as partners, Sid was the more popular of the two (with the exception of RR 97, which was in Shawn's hometown)

Yes, but he was still officially, in WWF labelled as Sid Justice in that run, calling him 'psycho' was just because it rolled off the tongue, it probably carried no implication of it being billed into his name, nor was it a phrase directed for Gorilla to say. It's like a number of things that it's only once it's been said or linked for a long time that someone has the spark to say 'let's go with that', which happened much later.

Either way, Sycho Sid ended up working much better than Sid Justice. On another point, Jim Ross also liked using Sid (his real name) as an abbreviation for Suddenly I'm Dominant.

Monsoon did say it but it was actually Bobby Heenan at WM8 that brought it up on the broadcast asking Monsoon about it.

This---I'm usually on board with Jim, but he's off base here (or at least just reciting Arn's version of the story). Sid had admitted that he was talking bad about Flair & that's what started it, but Arn didn't like how the fight ended initially (Sid going over?), and was trying to kick Sid's hotel room in & that's why Sid broke off a chair leg. Sid said he wanted the fight to be over, but he wasn't going to let Arn just walk over him, so he felt he was protecting himself.

Arn Anderson provoked the fight. Arn Anderson was drunk tried to stab Sid.

Yep, they actually asked SID if he wanted to press charges on Arn; multiple people (who were there) said Arn got bent out of shape by some things Sid said about Ric Flair. Not that it matters much who started it; they were both really drunk and not in their right minds at the time. Both seem like really nice guys, and they don't say anything negative about each other.

Sid didn't want to press charges against Arn Anderson cause Arn would have faced serious jail time. I think Arn was let go and Sid went to another Wrestlen company.

Cornettes version of the story doesn't make sense if sid got the drop on him with a chair leg how the fuck did he get stabbed first? Sid says Arn chased him down the hallway to a dead end then stabbed him after he put the leg down luckily he was able to take the scissors away Arn might have killed him he needed surgery after getting stabbed once

From watching his shoot interviews and things various people said about Sid, I think he seems like one of the nicest guys from that era of wrestling. So cool that you were able to meet him!

Strowman is a missed opportunity. I know they wanted to rush him to the main roster for various reasons but he needed to spend more time in NXT. A year more in NXT and he could have been a pretty good big man.

There is always room for guys like Sid in wrestling, past or present. Hell, I'd take a "bad" worker like Sid over a "great" worker like Omega any day of the week.

Mr G Yes, there may of been one or two house shows in early 91 to wrap things up, but I believe by the end of December 90 the TV show was officially over. It sucked they had to go. Even at the end, by the fall of 90, it was still the no. 3 U.S. promotion with a long history and a place to work for upcoming stars and on-the-way-out vets, and get TV and mag exposure. There was still a small, loyal fanbase to AWA that actually liked how Verne didn’t cave into gimmicks and wanted a more serious presentation

When Eddie Guerrero debuted at WWF, his Frogsplash that broke his own arm. It looked nasty when he did it. Or when Trish separated her shoulder against Mickie James going outside the ring. Nasty. My favorite, Taka Michinoku landing on his face when Kane eliminated him in the Royal Rumble. I remember so well because Lawler kept asking for the replay and laughing his ass off.

As much as I love the Pops from the ECW crowd, they were legitimate super marks. I remember taka michinoku showing up for one match, and the entire building was there chanting for him not to go back. They weren't popping bcuz they respect him, they were doing it because he was a WWF guy who showed up.

No, Arn wasn't, but that said, Sid himself has said he went to his own room, thought about it, then went to Arn's room to confront him about what was said at dinner. So what followed was on Sid for perpetuating things when it could have ended at that point.

He could have a manager to speak for him when he wasn't around, then show up and do nothing but cut a crazy promo, not appear on the show again, show up for the ppv, destroy the opponent and gp again, not to be seen in weeks.

That's what he did when WWF started doing monthly PPV's when Diesel was WWF Champion. He was only used during the PPV's and acted as Shawn Michaels bodyguard during Raw.

Sid had some solid runs but I can't say he was a huge star but he was on top a lot because look at him. However, all in all he wasn't worth it because he didn't care about wrestling or it's hectic schedule and you knew he would be out at least 3 months a year.
