The idea is from Vince's lawyer Jerry McDivitt from when they sued WCW because Scott Hall was acting like razor when he showed up on Nitro. WCW ended up paying out $2 Million from the suit, which Vince would later use to buy WCW.
@christophercleary6780

There has been a couple more Razor Ramons since Rick "Fake Razor Ramon"/ "Razor Ramon II" Bogner though these Razor Ramons are part of Japanese wrestling. The ringname of these Razor Ramons? Razor Ramon HG (played by Masaki Sumitani) and Razor Ramon RG (played by Makoto Izubuchi). The two of them met each other in college through pro wrestling and they would later form a comedy duo called Razor Ramon after being inspired by Scott Hall's Razor Ramon character.

I actually did a show with Razor Revolution. Some small town supermarket parking lot that only had about 150 people watching. He only had the Razor gear on, he came out to Styx and had almost no personality whatsoever. He kinda looked like a poor dollar store imitation of even the Fake Razor. We worked a 5 minute match and I had to sell and job to him since it was in his hometown and country. Can't remember what town it was, but it was in Quebec. Some 15 odd years ago.

Yeah he thought he could do like a 007 switch. Scott Hall especially, had an edge. Totally, he's done that a lot and it's practically standard business when he's got a certain 'balance of characters' he is trying to maintain. I'll never forget, when Ultimate Warrior went MIA from the broadcasts in the early '90s, suddenly Kerry Von Erich showed up-- same build, same hair, different personality, but became the new IC champ within like two months. I don't completely remember if Warrior had been IC champ at the time that he 'disappeared' from WWF, or if he had lost it to somebody, but it sure looked like "Well Jim's out for now.... but this Kerry guy sure looks just like him, and needs a lucky break..."

1:20 Mike Awesome, he was one of the dudes, who tried out for WWF on Beyond the Mat, right ? Actually, Jim Cornette watched him wrestle in one scene and was pretty complimentary if I recall. It was the first time I ever saw Cornette and I remember thinking, "what a nice guy ! Giving this young new wrestler some big props, and in front of Vince McMahon no less". I was like 12 years old when I saw it. And Jim is still a very decent individual. He's definitely straightforward, but the fact that he was so cool to a clearly nervous Mike Awesome on what must have been incredibly nerve wracking night, that is just a good move. Dunno how Russo reacted. Or what he thought. But the way Cornette - and JR too - treated those two wrestlers trying out for the WWF, shows that those two were, and are, good people. Good hearted. Just don't keep him waiting in a Wendy's drive thru.

The Fake Razor and Diesel thing is arguably the worst thing the WWF ever did. I still don't quite understand what the idea was. Were we supposed to think these were the real guys when any idiot could switch the channel to TNT and see the real guys on Nitro? It wasn't like Hall and Nash had vanished from wrestling, quite the opposite in fact. And it isn't like Razor and Diesel are masked or face painted wrestlers where you don't quite know what they look like. It was obvious these were different guys. Were we supposed to know they were fakes and JR was a dastardly villain because he said he would bring back Razor and Diesel but lied to us? And is there anything more bush league then giving a gimmick to another guy? Can you imagine if when Flair went to the WWF that WCW just put some blonde guy out there and said he was Ric Flair? It really came across like the WWF was scared because they had never appeared to really care that a member of their roster had gone somewhere else before. Earlier in the year they had the Huckster and the Nacho Man so they did a parody, which they had never done before, and then moved on to just outright counterfeits. It was pathetic.

R.I.P. Big man Richard Bogner. Known as the fake impostor razor ramon. Its sad he passed away at 49 years of age way to young and had full of life. I enjoyed his time in wwe when he teamed up with kane as the impostor versions of diesel and razor ramon in the 90s. To many young wrestlers passed away to young from Brian Adams aka crush to Sean ohaire to the renegade to Adam firestorm to viscera aka mabel to Mr yamaguchi San kaientai manager from the wwf attitude era. Richard Bogner you will be missed and I hope u are at peace now. I hope one day wwe inducts him in the hall of fame and have his former partner and friend kane to induct him.

It's kinda funny how Bogner died a few months after this segment, especially since Jim remarked how he thought the man was dead, lol!

I went to get look it up and he wasn’t. I was curious to see after seeing your comment. I remember that tag team when I was a kid (I was born June 4th, 1999) and I thought they were pretty decent heels. Deuce is actually Tamina Snuka’s brother and Domino is retired according to Wikipedia.
