Even when Opie was right or actually had an opinion. He just nauseatingly whined and repeated his basic points. As if they were groundbreaking, only to be thought of once, argument enders. Until it became obvious, that he began to get impressed with himself. For actually voicing an opinion at all. Yuck.
Hehe. I like this guy. Norton was shook up. I don't think he even cares about this guy's ludicrous theory that he stole money for the animation but rather that his cartoon was so bad, which it was. I saw the "pilot" and it was a disaster. It made no sense, there were characters that aren't even from O&A. Did he really think we would understand or care about his ex girlfriend and their pretend child character? It also didn't work on any level as chip is an excuse to make bad jokes. That only makes sense if he pops up to interrupt a comedic conversation. The idea of him walking down the street and doing his "chip" lines while a bunch of random characters stroll by is so dumb. He has a talent for the voices and saying the crazy shit but someone has got to write the show itself and he can work in his voice talent. He sounds beat down on this clip.
+killustrator That was always my biggest problem with the animation that was attached to the Indiegogo.. Chip is funny because he makes funny situations completely uncomfortable. The cartoon needs to be *funny* first, and THEN Chip.. Not Chip to try and be funny.. The Chip jokes don't work or stand on their own at all.
I had nothing to do with the original deal. But I did a podcast back then and we used to bring things to the show, and I had done some gigs with a lot of the comics that went on there regularly. So the plan was to have me go with him to make sure he wasn't murdered. The day of the "gig" I got to NYC and it was obviously a set up. He was genuinely pretty broken hearted so I took him around the city to a few open mics where I knew people..let him get up at a few, bought him some PIzza, and brought the footage I had into the show.
Making lemonade out of lemons. Bobo seems like a sweet guy. Good looking out for him. Do you really think Jim did the Kickstarter with the intention of ripping people off or is it just that he's embarrassed making such a terrible product? Is your point that he took the money and pocketed it instead of making a quality show? Are there more episodes than the pilot?
