In the part one of this video you mentioned the engine was pushed or mounted 12 inches forward, is there, wait, I'm sure there is a reason for that, would you care to elaborate? Thank's, I really enjoy your video, and the flight to Roger's Lodge.

Bobby Tucker I was wondering about the engine being moved forward also. I think it would be to change the c.g. for aircraft that often fly with a full load that may be pretty far aft. These guys are often carrying passengers and all their gear as well as all the fish they catch.

I really enjoy your videos and recently discovered the DeHavilland Beaver on Microsoft Flight Simulator Steam Edition and have been learning about how to fly it based on your videos. I don't think I'll ever fly the real thing but sure would love to one day. I am really enjoying how the cockpit is arranged on the DeHavilland Beaver and it just strikes me as being all very logical and built around the pilot. Definitely will be flying it a lot in the virtual world! I subscribed to your channel and hope you have a lot more videos coming. Take care and good flying to you.

Nootka Sound, a largely forgotten but very significant place in the history of Europe. The 'Nootka Crisis' of 1789 was the start of the crumbling away of the Spanish Empire and the spur that led Britain to building the navy that beat Bonaparte and built the British Empire. It's great to see, and hard to believe, such a beautiful, quiet & remote place that had such a big influence on European history. Thanks again, Jim

Jim! Thanks for a great video. You make it look so easy. This video also reminds me of my older brother. A bit of a hero of mine. He was a Diesel mechanic and he often had to take beavers up and down the BC coast to make house calls on broken engines. He had some truly wild and yet wonderful stories about flying in beavers. He always loved to tell a good story. Alley

+Alley Oop Making a tricky and potentially dangerous job 'look so easy' is the sign of a skilled and organised person.

How wide is that cabin, say, at the bottom edges of the windows?

It must be refreshing to know as a pilot that your aircraft has floats, so in the advent of a engine failure, you have many lakes and rivers to do a emergency landing.

What is the middle control handle for Jim? I know that the right is Mixture and left is throttle. Any other videos that I have seen, the middle handle is always at the top position except on yours. You obviously move and use it. Not sure if the Beaver had a variable pitch prop.

That's what the trim controls are for, Jeffrey, they're over the pilot, actually, on the ceiling between the pilot and passenger.
