Voting doesn't matter. Trump lost the popular vote in 2016. Clinton got more votes from American citizens. But, because that makes no difference and it's whomever gets the most votes from the electoral college, not American citizens that determines who's president, Trump was voted in. This has happened a few times. Makes you wonder what good the popular vote is. I'm just Canadian, so I don't understand it entirely, but oddly enough I understand it better than our process.

There was actually a small local newspaper on Long Island (North Shore Leader I think) that broke the story about Santos before the election but no one was paying attention. Just goes to show, supporting local newspapers can really pay off. By the time the NY Times picked up the story, the election was done. I think they wanted a republican, period. Vote for the person, not the "team"! If you don't know this person, if he has never helped at a school fundraiser or volunteered at the health fair or at the local library or... Really, I doubt Santos ever did ANYTHING to help that neighborhood. People are crazy.

We have a house Possum. She uses the cat door, comes and goes at will. Hangs out in front of the winter fire and sleeps. Very clean and sweet natured.

I miss opossums! There are none here in hawaii. I found one in my bedroom , once, hnging from a lamp. it was so cute. a baby. i grabbed a blanket and grabbed the little guy, who wouldn't let go of the lamp, i gave it a peaceful vibe and it let go. i was amazed at it's little pink prehensile hands! i set him down outside, and he stared at me, dazed, and then darted off at light speed (unlike an adult possum, which just lumbers away)
