I first heard this song few years on my truck radio one night driving home after my girlfriend ended our 5 year relationship. As soon as I got home I looked up the song on youtube and must of listened to it 20 times in a row. I didn't know Jimmy died. RIP legend.
Great song.... Jimmy was not know as well as he should have been... As a brother musician, I will sing this one and dedicate it to him and thank him for the deep emotion and love it shares... Rest easy Jimmy, you did good... Jim
His voice was like that of an angel; he's where he no longer is in pain. He's surrounded by so much love, we cannot imagine the energy love has on all souls there. Given his voice is filled great love and heard as angelic, now that his strength his back, he can sing; any confusion is gone. His fans will miss the beauty of on stage performances. All of the musicians' instruments play with perfected skill - harmonizing as they play notes memorized. The music is incredibly beautiful as Jimmy begins to sing in angel tones. Songs we enjoy and relate to. His voice, the harmony, and the fans provide amazing energy as they are swept away by how beautiful the music is. All within earshot are drawn to the great talent that is Jimmy! He and the band are magical. He will be missed desperately; he'll never be forgotten. He gave us beautiful music that was done with perfection. They are all impressive. And then, you see who they are: good and humble people who care about all who come to hear the beautiful perfection that is Jimmy LaFave. When we get to heaven, we'll see all of the band together again at some point. It's very nice to have access to his CD's and in other formats. He sings me to sleep. God bless those left with a void they cannot fill. And God Bless Jackson.
I discovered this great songwriter thanks to a cover of Never is a moment, made by Zucchero. His music is wonderful, I feel lucky to have discovered him. I'm sure he was as sweet as his music. RIP.
This is mine and my fiances song. When i first showed her this (i learned about it as a kid when my dad took me to a concert) she immediately wanted to see if he could play live it love for our wedding and that year he passed. I still cannot wait to have my first dsnce with her to this song, it means so much to us.
Semi agree . Only I’m not the one that is qualified to judge Anyone. I Dearly Love This Song . It has many different meanings. Two emotions make me cry when I replay this song. JoyFullness and Sadnesses . I prefer the Joy Full Love I Experience when I “listen” to every purposeful note .
I totally agree, Jimmy puts his heart and soul into ALL songs. Anyone that doesn't feel this music I feel sorry for...thanks for your beautiful music Jimmy! God Bless You ❤
Correct lyrics (as Jimmy sang it): River road - Jimmy LaFave There's something that I gotta say, it's been needed for a long time. They say the truth can set you free. Hey, let me say what's on my mind. If my words should fail me now, I hope that you could understand. ‘Cause baby you deserve much more, than the person that I am. Take a walk down the river road. Let it ease your mind. ‘Cause I'm in love with you. I’ve been for a long, long time. Take a walk down the river road. Let your pain just disappear. It’s a great, big world. Hey, I’m glad that you’re here. And I have seen the sun shine down, equal on everyone. Hey I've watched it walk away, when the day was done. Lost in the shadows there, it was me and my mortal soul. But baby, you have pulled me through, hey, more than you could ever know. Take a walk down the river road, ‘cause it's a brand new day. The sorrow can not touch you now, let it all fade away. Take a walk down the river road, with no trouble in your mind. Everything is gonna be just fine ….. They say in every life, we may have some deep regret. Forgiveness has its own free will, perhaps it hasn't found me yet. But I say to anyone, that I’ve hurt along the way. Time is such a healing wind, o, I hope it blows your way. Take a walk down the river road, take it in the morning light. i promise by the end of day, things are gonna be alright. Take a walk down the river road, let your pain disappear. It's a great, big world, I'm glad that you're here. Hey, I always will love you and I’m glad you’re here. In this great, big world I’m so glad that you’re here!
Beautiful lyrics; lovely musical notes floating around;; the sounds know no limits; and The celestial image arises when Jimmy pours out his first emotion in a friendly environment. God Bless Ameris......"simply want my country back." JImmy LF

We usually stay behind the scenes. But the Music Fog video crew usually consists of Jim McBean and Chris Walsh (cameras, lighting, & editing), with audio engineered and mixed by Aaron Lee.
Ron Robek And the players. I'm trying to find out who the drummer is. He's got a super groove with minimal equipment! This is an amazing performance & recording!!!
Several years since I first heard this version, far superior to the original by Dylan. Been playing it ever since, along with many others by him. His passing was a sad loss . . .
