he was smoking sexy and hot in the 70s, and he was just as good looking here...now, he could be my grandfather but omg. if i was around in the 70s, posters of that young, GORGEOUS jimmy page would be all over my walls
you still look cool ... have thought so since the beginning .. you have been rocking my soul since i was a teenager and have never stopped connecting to Led Zeppelin and specially your guitaring. thank you. thankyou.
I love this guy, but he cannot hold still. I've seen him loaded or not loaded and he can't be still. (LOL) He still plays beautifully and looks damn sexy even today at age 67.
Glad you made that distinction. There are other distinctions like genre and era, etc. But Jimmy is the best Rock guitarist of all time. Others like Chet Atkins and Andres Segovia are WAY beyond Jimmy...
@@ronaldmitchell3665 Now it's Eddie Van Halen ... He will go into history as the Biggest and MOST influential Rock Guitarist Ever! Amen Sorry Jimmy, but you are STILL and will be ALWAYS the Godfather, and Hendrix the Holy Ghost .. don´t take it too serious because : Uhh Uhh it´s Only Rock n Roll , but i Liiike it
I saw Jimmy many times during the Page/Plant era (and on the Black Crowes tour too) - and they were incredible shows - but the first time on the Outrider tour remains my favorite. There was a Led Zep reunion fiasco earlier in the year, and people thought Jimmy couldn't play anymore. He went on every night on the Outrider tour and played with passion and brilliance and showed everyone he still had it. Btw, if you like Jimmy's eastern-flavored guitar, check "Rosetta West - Yallah."
I have adored this guy since a was a little girl. He is so beautifully spoken, so sexy and a genius with the guitar 🎸. Ironically my husband has always been soooo jealous of James Patrick Page ❤❤
Phoenix in mid-September isn't bad for us who live in AZ. However, this poor guy looks like he's about to pass out from the heat. Dang - somebody give him a huge glass of ice water!!! He's polite and involved in the interview - even with all that background noise going on - but he's about to melt!
Jimmy deserves a knighthood or a canonisation (both extremely unlikely considering his interests!) for a lifetime of putting up with inane interview questions.
When you say , what his interests are? Haha, everyone in the royal family are deeply involved with the occult!! The media is run by occultists. Sheesh.
I’ve noticed through binge-watching all & everything Zeppelin... they all 3 are very good at that. Even to this day Jimmy, Robert or Jonsey haven’t ever dissed or written any ‘tell all’ books. Just another to love about them 💫
I saw Jimmy numerous times. Solo, Page and Plant, ARMS concert, The Firm and the last concert LED ZEPPELIN did in the United States, in Oakland. ✌️😎🎸🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶
He speaks like that on purpose, so he can say more than one thing with the same word as in 2 meanings. You decide what the word really is and what it means. In other words, he hates the media.
That's funny! He is very tricky with his accent and words as you can take anything he says, at least 2 ways, for the most part. He is brilliant using the occult in speaking, singing, and playing. And of course, he does sing.
If you change your sound settings around, you will hear Jimmy saying different things than you may have thought with your original setting. He is a master of sound.
I too was really annoyed that Page and Zep chose not to give due credit to the old blues masters for a heck of a lot of their material. But... I can see why they probably chose to withhold that info from their fans, they must've known that as time rolled on it would all come out and they'd be brought to account... which thankfully they were! But you really can't deny that they turned those riffs on their head and created something new out of them and Page is a very colorful guitar player!
I realize this is an 8 yr old comment, but after binge listening to every Zep bootleg I can find, Robert always talked about which former musician they admired before re-doing that particular song...
Immigrant Song, Tangerine, Thank You, Ten Years Gone, SIBLY, Kashmir, Good Times, Bad Times, Communication Breakdown, What Is and What Should Never Be, Ramble One, Heartbreaker, Bron Yr Aur, Bron Yr Aur Stomp, That's The Way, STH (don't give me that Spirit BS, that's debunked), Black Dog, Rock n Roll, Battle of Evermore, Going to California, The Rain Song, Over the Hills and Far Away, The Ocean, No Quarter, The Song Remains the Same, Houses of the Holy, Trampled Underfoot, Achilles and on and on
+Frankincensed Seriously. All that pounding and what sounds like a foreman screaming at the workers. You think they could have done this in an air conditioned environment. It looks really hot and really uncomfortable.
+boogiebabe67 It was Arizona in September man. Yes, it was indeed hot that day. It wasn't quite so bad by the night time, but still a bit warm. Such a great show. (and you're right, could have been done elsewhere there. maybe that's when and where they could get it in i guess)
+Frankincensed This actually is about the most involved and nice in an interview that i think i've ever seen him before too. Not sure i've ever seen him laugh and smile that much during an interview.
I saw him in Atlanta on his 1988 tour, called simply "Jimmy Page". He and the back-up band performed Zep tunes as instrumentals only, IIRC. Don't get wrong, I effing love Jimmy Page, but that performance wasn't so great, and Jimmy knew it. After playing Stairway, he walked up to the mike, held his arms out, and shrugged, "Oh well." But the crowd and I didn't mind, and roared.
Yes, early Zeppelin did use a lot of other material/ideas from other people, and maybe they should have given earlier due credit; but you know what? Zeppelin is STILL the rock band to be even after 40 years...Stairway to Heaven, Kashmir, Black Dog....all that was pure Zeppelin...none of it borrowed or "stolen." Pull your head out of your ass and stop listening to strictly the first 2 albums, if that...there's a reason they became the biggest band in the world...there's no denying their talent.
lina sum he looks very much better than a few years previous. Plus he s had his teeth fixed. And he s put on some weight. So he looks good here actually .
"Class, can u say that after me?" Class roars "Road crew!" "Very good class! Does anyone know what the road crew is doing? You Johnny, can you please explain to the new girl, probro, what the road crew is doing?" "Yes sir I can! The road crew are assembling the sound system, lighting equipment, a stage, etc. so that everyone can enjoy that evenings rock show." "Very good Johnny! probro, will u remember that when we have our quiz?" "Yes sir, I hope that I can." Bell rings, "Class dismissed"
@exclusiveLm Not really, it's like duplicating the car, so the other artist still has is, and the other artist takes part of it and really changes it dramatically. I honestly don't care if the stole material, like in babe I'm gonna leave you, they took the lyrics, but jimmy added fantastic acoustic work, and that's what I like most about the song. And it's not like zep where the only ones to do this.
The radio still played awful music back then, the radio never played zep, the critics slammed them. There's great music around today, just because you don't know any real musicians, doesn't mean they don't exist. Please don't judge music based on the shit that the radio/tv plays.
