I saw Page in both shows at the LA Forum in Los Angeles. Everybody pretty much was there to see Page. I remember when Page came on the stage on both nights, the crowd went crazy. Our guitar god was right in front of us, and if I remember correctly, the crowd rushed the stage when he came on. Man what a moment those nights were.

What a touching moment at the end for Eric and Jeff to come out and help their old frined who is suffering inside and out. So glad he got cleaned up from the junk, and was able to move past the death of John Bonham and continue with the Firm, and his solo album, and Page & Plant...

Wow Johnny, I went to that concert and Jimmy Page definitley looked like he was stoned, and worst of all, I always had the feeling Page and Clapton never really got along, When I was at the show Page looked like he was drunk or whatever and when Clapton appeared on stage, Page patted him on the back (pretty hard) and I remember the look on Claptons face, I thought he was going to let him have it

Funny thing, when the Dallas concert was reviewed by Pete Oppel, he wrote about the rapturous adulation that Jeff Beck received as he finished his set. But, what was really happening, was, shortly after Jeff Beck finished his set, the video screen showed Jimmy Page walking to the stage, and that alone, created the rapturous response, that Pete Oppel mistakenly attributed to Jeff Beck.

That's real friendship that has spanned a lifetime for all 3. Whatever Jimmy was dealing with that night , if both Beck and Clapton had not gone on stage and played him down to bring Jimmy back to the moment he may have kept on playing as it seemed he was at a loss on how to end the song. He saw them and instantly he knew he would be ok ,buddies just jamming together ,he was all smiles after that . At 37:37 you can see Clapton give him the come hither look as Clapton wound down the song . Jimmy seemed to understand at that point and finished it ...they did not embarrass him at any point and that says just how much real friendship means . RIP Beck such a huge influence gone much too early .

I know he played them on Zeppelin's 1st album but I've not seem him play one live. He played a black Stratocaster on his Outrider tour but not with The Firm. All shows were great though! Jeff Beck was a madman the night I saw them. Clapton was also great. Joe Cocker was soulful and we're see the birth of the Firm that night a Paul Rodgers and Jimmy Page broke out a few songs that were destined to become songs from the firm's first album

Jimmy Page being that sexy beast star of the show. His second live show since the end of Led Zeppelin. Rusty as hell, but he came through and sobbered up to rise again and join "The Firm", started right there and then. A gateway venture to him coming back to life. Playing Midnight Moonlight, a song pre-recorded with Led Zeppelin to be on the "In Through The Outdoor" album. Rejected, But soon became a classic on the "The Firm's" first Album. Wish we could have heard this gem performed by Led Zeppelin as a grand finale. There is a studio recording demo of Zeppelin performing this song in the studio. Search for that.

@@HardRockMaster7577 But he had Jeff Beck to back him up if wanted to go there. Would have been a better perfomance. But I think poeple just wanted to see Jimmy no matter what disheveled state he was in. I was 12 at the time, and I didnt understand depression and heroin abuse, then. But I was happy to see the guitrist of my favorite band playing again. In hind sight, I agree, it was a shit show. But it was for a good cause. And I'm glad that it led to The Firm. You'd never guess that a rocker like Page could also play Jazz Fusion. That's what's funny about it. I remember once I went to a Led Zeppelin concert. It was way back in 1975. Everyone was blitzed so Page decided to sneak something in. LOL. It's hilarious. He was up on stage sounding exactly like how Scott Henderson sounded in the 90's. ha ha. Yeah! He was. He was flying on the arpeggios and playing modes and scale modes. LOL. Then they went back into the Led Zeppelin mode. Page was really hilarious. He could play very progressive stuff when he wanted to, but that wasn't his image so it was really something that you had to catch on one of his sneaky times. ha ha

Well, he was paired with Rodgers for two albums and a couple of tours, but it didn’t continue because Rodgers wanted to return to his first love, which was more blues based. Then Page did his solo album where he had several singers...including Plant...and then Jimmy had his partnership with Coverdale....successful tour and pretty well received album, but wasn’t huge. I think the world just REALLY wanted Jimmy and Robert together, and nothing else had the same chemistry. I think Jimmy would have worked more with Steve Winwood, but Winwood was into his successful solo career by then....Performing with The Black Crowes was also fine....but nothing could match the lightening in the bottle that was Zeppelin. Luckily, Page and Plant did work together again 1994-98 or so and gave us allot of great performances for the archives.

I saw Beck for the first time a few years ago,and it was mind blowing. You would never think he was in his 70’s.He played w the same fire and precision as he did in ok’d videos I’ve seen.Always progressing and trying new things. As for Jimmy, his live playing was always a bit like this, kinda reckless abandon but that’s what made what he did cool I’ve always thought. The Deathwish soundtrack music he wrote was incredible imo.Beck is just the better player hands down, although he couldn’t write the songs Jimmy could.

I’m a huge fan of Jimmy, always have been. But during this period after Bonham death, he was a mess, but trying. This performance was pretty rough, kind of painful to witness, but all the while good to see him back. Once the Firm got started he was sounding good again. By the time he did his solo tour promoting his Outrider album, he was in great form. He stayed that way right on up through the Zeppelin reunion at the O2. I’m a little worried now about him just due to his lack of appearances. He didn’t perform at either of the Jeff Beck tribute shows and I would’ve thought he wouldn’t have missed those for nothing considering he was Jeff’s oldest friend. I hope he’s ok.

The Firm was "Led Co" far more than "Bad Zep" - not as obvious here as on vinyl Page fans should look up his post Zep tracks - - These Arms Of Mine on Willie + Poor Boys 3 on Steve Stills "Right By You" lp - Crackback from JP Jones' Scream for Help sndtrk - > - > Asylum from Yardbirds reunion Box of Frogs - most trx played on the B-Bender Tele Rodgers fans need to hear the solo CD Cut Loose - Rodgers plays every instrument... so not just credible bass, drums guitars and keys ..but overdubbed into a very credible band sound ...includes a version of Live In Peace from Firm's 2nd

The thing I've always noticed about Paul Rodgers is that he's very shut off as a performer. Jimmy is extremely lively and open, he looks around at the different players on stage, connecting with them in the moment while they're playing. He feeds off his musical dialogue with the other players. Paul may as well just shut his eyes while he's performing, every time Jimmy tries to make eye contact during a moment in a song, Paul is just looking at the exit sign at the back of the room.

No kidding. But most importantly he had the crowds adoration and full support. They love him. He’s just started a long recovery after YEARS of a horrific addiction(s), depression. Jimmys fans understand him and love him. Very few people have the love from his fans like Jimmy. It is unwavering. He’s charming.

Well Aways love Page even when he is absolutely ripped up ,staggering, blitzed,...out of key out of tune out of touch..... Still far more class and influential than today's bone head an Eddie V.H/Randy Rhodes rip offs....

While Paul Rogers sounds great singing Who's to Blame, I prefer Chris Farlowe. His vocals are like a punch to the gut.
