Even in the glare of the cameras and lights this incredible musician can bring out warmth, humor and pathos. He is truly one of the world's great living artists.
I don't understand the praise here. This is just sad... Jimmy was a 100 times better than this when not under the influence of drugs. Unfortunately, drugs became part of his path very early :-/
Brother? How many great artists of all time gave thr world the most Breath taking music Based on their personal experience of over coming drugs, poverty, Etc.. its about those things that are now apart of you.. and you embracing it and Expressing through The arts, music in this case and all of a sudden you could say what you never could put into words. God bless
Haha. I know. But when you're that good, you just go on and do brilliant stuff. (I forget the Django tune where Django plays a major third at the beginning of his solo on a minor D key.)
It's a fantastic improvisator and also he was so much influenced by the Rosenberg Trio when he was kid ( in particular Stochelo who is his relative ) so we can find much citation or cover in his game. Bye !
sorry but no, its meant to be exactly like this. the perfection lies in between the notes, the dynamic weight, the phrasing, the arpeggiated harmony. the perfection therefor also comes from beeing not perfect. paradox hu? well thats art! not engineering. calling this "sloppy" is overexeggerating by the way. also maybe it is not supposed to sound perfectly to your ears, but rather meant to be something new. which it is to me. btw, calling Rosenbergs playing "classic no-practice picking" is an insult. "right hand couln't keep up" - your mind couldnt keep up!
