No Really... I didn't cry. A bug flew by and when I went to swat it, a piece of random dust went right into my eye, and my other eye. Then I pushed my liquid out to get rid of the dust.

Don´t worry. I am 49 years old and I cried and cried. He is helping ARMY (the little girl that is about the age of ARMY) to move forward on their own for a little while and he gives us a Fighting! He is saying that he will return after being out there in the world on his own. He will return to home and family. He look gorgeous in that Brit 80's suit. How does a 30 year old man look so cute with a suit and a helmet, hahah.

Cry away! No need to be embarrassed. The crossword puzzle includes ASTRONAUT, STARS, MOON, ARMY, COZY, & at the end Jin fills in FAMILY. Jin has been coming for me since Epiphany, but this beautiful MV put me over the top. He is now my second bias wrecker along with Hobie. Chris Martin is also the driver of the pick-up truck.

this song is co-written by coldplay and jin. that's interesting i usually think jungkook is the pop-orientated voice in bts (ofc everyone can pull it off though). jin has always suited ballads, trot, or vocal-orientated songs in bts, SoundCloud, or ost stuff. even in his other stuff like his alternative rock ballad (epiphany) or this pop rock song (the astronaut). anyway this is a really meaningful song and let's wish him all the best

The carefree jumping and running on stage with his arms stretched out as if he’s trying to hug everyone, clearly he’s savoring every minute of that performance because it would be his last..for a while.

Jin is a professional actor having a graduate degree from the top university of S.Korea for acting where the acceptance rate is 1 per 201 .he was the first to join that college even before the admission started of his batch . To me, the song is like a hug from Jin. He's not saying good-bye, he's saying that he'll see us again soon. I will miss him, very much, but I know that this is a part of his culture and something that nearly every male in Korea has to go through. Chris let it slip that Jin told him that Jin had to go enlist back in March or April, so all of this crap about BTS having an exemption was just that, crap. The boys had every intention of doing their military service. What makes me really sad is that we have six more "see you soon" moments to get through.

Yes, Chris Martin said Jin called him about 6 months ago explaining he was going to serve mandatory military service and wanted Chris to collaborate on a song for ARMY. A song emoting his love for ARMY and he will return soon. Yes the girl is ARMY.

I am so proud of you - only a couple of reactors got this the first time (including the lovely sillypak)- that the girl represents ARMY, you could hear Coldplay and you saw the braille on his neck (ARMY)! The guitar in the video is a gift from Chris. And Chris is providing the back up vocals together with Chris' son Moses. The pick up truck is reminiscent of their Most Beautiful Moment in Life MV and their Yet to Come MV with his BTS brothers. I'm still crying every time. It gets me in a very good way. 💜 You got so much the first time through! I keep finding new little details. He says that ARMY made him into Jin of BTS, gave him a dream and a purpose. Just like the little girl who made him into family. It gets me personally because it captures things about my relationship with my daughter. When I first met her I was hesitant, but she was insistent that I was going to be her family, and when I'm with her, there's no one else. She just turned 8. I'm glad you brought in the parent angle too. One interpretation I love is that teaching her to ride the bike is a way of saying that she doesn't need him anymore... So when he comes back, it's just because he loves her, not out of a sense of duty or obligation. He's telling us that too. He'll come back, but not because we need him. We'll be okay. He'll come back because we're family and we make him happy. I agree with you on the acting - he's completely captivating in this. And I have to say, my admiration for Lumpens just continues to grow. This is a sweet, straightforward, wholesome song and story, and there are still a hundred details to find that just add depth.

I may be reaching but I had some thoughts while watching through my tears. At the beginning there are no trees next to the crashed ship. Near the end there are mature trees growing that could be about 10 years old. The girl appears to be about 10 years old . Army and BTS have been together that long. I think he looks in the face of the astronaut suit and tries to work out if that's really who he is. And the 2 cars that don't stop for him could indicate the 2 years he will spend in the army. I still cry every time.

Thank you for this reaction - I didn't notice the STOP signs, good spotting! The scene of Jin on the bike seems an echo of the Coldplay mv for Paradise where Chris M is in the elephant suit riding down the road on a unicycle. The little girl represents ARMY; she's 10 yrs old (ish) which is how long ARMY has been existing. She also represents the pure and innocent but deep love between Jin / BTS and their fandom. That dang dust in the air seems to attack people when they watch this video, so annoying!

I bought the tickets back in November 2021 bc I also love Coldplay, been listening to them since 2002 and I couldn't believe when they announced Jin was coming the same day I had tickets to 😭😭😭 I can assure you there were many armys, but also Coldplay fans were so loud and supportive when Jin performed, I'll be eternally grateful to Chris for such a beautiful introduction and a wholesome performance! (When we were leaving the stadium I could hear some comments saying they loved the Korean guy 🥺😭🥰, our Jinnie did amazing!!)

Jin has been quoted as saying that this song is about and for ARMY. Loosely interpreted without getting too deep in the weeds it's about how he was drifting through life without a specific direction until he found ARMY and they helped him find his place in the world. The little girl represents ARMY in this video. The "tattoo" on his neck and the black squares on the crossword puzzle are both Braille. "For ARMY" You did a good job at catching a lot of things but you might also find interesting the video on RU-vid called "things you missed in The Astronaut". There are a lot of Easter eggs in this video.

You have more or less hit the nail on the head when you said about Jin's voice sounded classiscal. He did a Weverse Live ( if my memory serves me well) and said that he had tried several times trying to get the right feel of tempo or something ( sorry, I am no musician ) and finally found a way to get it right when he applied the 1980's -1990's Korean trot which is actually a genre of Korean music, known for its use of repetitive rhythm and vocal inflections ( definition from Wikipedia). I daresay Jin is very well-versed in the various genres of music especially for someone born in 1992 when the Korean trot ( I think a form of the old type of music) was gradually losing its charm in the 1990s with the explosion of K-pop. Hope I didn't say anything inappropriate where music is concerned.

@@TheChampOfMedium I have watched many RU-vid reactors reacting to Jin's 'The Astronaut' and I believe none of them mentioned about Jin's voice being classical. A handful of them mentioned that they noticed a change in Jin's style of singing but didn't exactly specify what change it was. I only have an ear for music and have a midget of knowledge about the different genres of music. However, I did notice the slight vibration in Jin's voice when he belted out " there's no one else...and the I love you' parts when I first watched his music video. So when I heard the part about how rigorous it was for him when he tried to get the right tempo and finally managed to get it right after he applied the Korean trot, I was of course curious to explore further what ' Korean trot' is. Jin's vibration ( er...my layman term as I don't know the exact musical term to use ) is very noticeable in his live performance at Coldplay's live concert in Argentina. Do check that out. It was an emotional performance and indeed a performance that will always be etched in our minds and hearts for it not only showed Jin's attributes as a singer but it also allowed us to bear witness the brotherly love, bond, admiration and respect Jin and Chris Martin have for each other.
