So her Dad, requiring Jeremy to watch 60 hrs of IBL teachings (thought Jeremy would agree w/ these principals), was the catalyst to Jinger's realization that IBL wasn't Biblical. That is true love on Jeremy's part & an amazing work of God's Plan for Jinger & Jeremy!! ❤

I grew up in a very religious family. Once I got old enough to read the Bible and understand it for myself I started to realize things were off and growing up thinking God was just waiting for me to mess up so he could punish me was WRONG. The love God has for us is unmatchable. And how he longs for relationship with people.

Such foolishness is not supported in scripture, because all of the Bible is based on God's law. The Bible explicitly teaches about the folly of relying on human reasoning, and in no instance would God ever lead someone in a direction that suits their own desires.

I love Jinger and her love for the Lord and her hunger for truth! I grew up identical to the way she did and am also still unraveling truth from error. But I respect the fact that she didn’t let go of the good things she was taught but just the unbiblical things. This is what I’ve strived to do as well. So many of my friends who were raised with me in the same cultish church have left faith in God and BIBLICAL boundaries and just gone wild. To me it’s so sad when one can’t see the good that they were taught and extract that if you will, from the bad. Jinger I’d such a light shining in darkness and I’m so glad she is using her platform to still glorify God.

Thank you and God bless you. Totally! It is a fallen world and it is clinging to what is good and throw away what is not good that she (we) learned to do. That is mature spiritual growth. Once a child step into war against parents and entangle others, that is when I draw the line. After all it is biblical and love covers the multitudes of sins.

This is important for everyone to question what is being taught in their churches as well. A lot of people mean well, but there’s a lot of manipulation, fear and control in local churches . If you go against some churches bylaws that doesn’t entirely lineup with scripture. Many do not welcome that. As we study, we really realize it is the faith of Christ, how wonderful it is to know that God has a remnant chosen by grace and there’s nothing we could do or not do to earn or lose our salvation.💜🌿

My kids grew up admiring the Duggars and were mature enough to realize that Josh had mental issues. We should also be discussing many of the good things the Duggars did. Had it not been for the tragic choices of Josh, the love of faith and family displayed by Duggars would still be admired by millions today. The godless atheists salivated for any tragedy in the family and always hoped Jinger would go full apostate.. credit to her for not giving them that trophy...pray she stays strong... but she seems to lack perspective, and gratitude which is why you see the trolls here circling like sharks. Most Christians judging the rules struggle to have 1/2 their kids continue in the faith because of the weaponized culture. The Duggars did pretty good and for that matter the Bates, too!

I grew up in the Jehovah witness cult. Their teachings are very controlling. They really attack those who think differently than the rest of the collective. So as one of those free thinkers I was attacked constantly. Because I questioned their teachings, since I experienced and saw a lot of teachings that do not align with the Bible. Everything was manipulated in order to control the sheep. It was exhausting to grow up in that. I’ve been out of it for over a decade now. But I still struggle with having a relationship with God. I have a lot of trust issues. And I know it’s not with God himself. But it is definitely issues with trusting anyone who would preach from the Bible.

@markd3250

" _In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God._ " In that opening statement by John in his Gospel, he focuses our attention. Then he gives us the golden key to just about everything in verse 14 when he said " _The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth._ " Jesus is the Word. That means he was the one who spoke and said " _Let us make man in our image_ ". He was the one who spoke to Noah and told him to build the ark. He was the one who spoke to Moses from the burning bush. He was the one who wrote the 10 Commandments for the Israelites, and when they rejected them and said " _We want a religion like we had in Egypt_ ", that's what Jesus gave them. Their rejection was a massive insult to God, so he responded by giving them the law. It was not meant to be a blessing, it was meant to be an insult and a curse to them, which it turned out to be. He fulfilled the requirements of the law on our behalf, so he wouldn't lose all of us. That's what salvation is; salvaging us from the law and death which the law said was our due; "the wages of sin is death". Sin is simply flaw, and we are all born flawed. None of us is perfect and we all know it. After giving the law to Moses, over 1,200 years later, Jesus came here in the flesh to not only create a way to save us from the destiny of death that Adam and Eve chose for all of us when they chose to disobey God, but to also personally show us by a living example what he had in mind when he said "Let us create man in our image". He gave us the greatest piece of advice ever given to the human race when he said "In everything, do towards others as you would have them do towards you." He then superseded the Law he had given to Moses for the Israelites, and also his previous 10 Commandments, by giving us a new command: "As I have loved you, love one another." That sums up all the law and the prophets, and pretty much everything else since Adam and Eve. JUST TO MAKE SURE we didn't misunderstand even that, he had Paul give us a detailed description of the love he was referring to. Paul wrote it in 1st Corinthians Chapter 13: 1 Corinthians Chapter 13:1-13 -New International Version (NIV) " _If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing._ _Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres._ _Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known._ _And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love._ " That's it. Since only 3 things remain after all this burns up, and the greatest of those 3 is love, focus on that. You don't need to worry about anything else. That's the straight and narrow path. You don't just walk it, you have to climb and it's not easy, but it's the only way that takes us home. Every other way, including legalism, leads to destruction. Forget legalism; do what Jesus said, and you'll be okay.

The Law was given to teach the people that God is a holy God and that man in his own efforts can never fulfill God's law and need a savior.
@markd3250
@markd3250 Год назад
@@happycook6737 Perhaps to some extent, but don't forget that the Law was specifically given to the Israelites that had been led out of Egypt after they rejected the 10 Commandments. Paul the Apostle emphasized how Christ made the Law obsolete by taking the consequences upon himself, to create a new covenant that not only included the Israelites, but the Gentiles (basically everyone else) as well. First reference is Ephesians 2:14-16 "For he himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations." Then in Romans 6:14 "For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace." There are many references in Paul's letters to the difference between being under the old Law, and being now under grace through Christ Jesus. Being under grace means we cannot boast or be prideful about our salvation as though we ourselves earned it through our own works. What you said is true that we cannot by our own efforts fulfill God's law, but that's the law that existed before Christ's sacrifice on the cross. By his sacrifice on the cross, Jesus fulfilled the requirements of the law on our behalf once and forever, which provided a way for salvation under grace. However he did also give us one new commandment: John 13:34 " _A new commandment I give you: love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another._ " That's a simple statement, but there's a lot of depth and meaning to it because it requires we study and understand how Christ loved us. When you go down the list in 1st Corinthians 13, that's quite a list. Yet even in trying to obey that, we stumble. Ask God for help in following that path (he will help you), and embrace it as being from him and part of him. Walk that path _with_ God, instead of for God. He didn't go through all that just so we can be off on our merry way, leaving him out of our hearts and thoughts. When Jesus says love one another, we should include him first in that. If you walk a path together with someone, you gain a familiarity and friendship with them. Love him first as you learn to walk the straight and narrow path, and you'll gain a treasure beyond all treasures.

My phrase was, I always felt as if God we're standing over me with a baseball bat. As a teen I went to a drive in movie. I continuously looked to the skies expecting the Lord would return and catch me there and punish me. I never believed I would be good enough for Jesus no matter what. So my life turned to MANY years of promiscuity. Praise God, He continued to love and mold me and at age 70 I finally realized and found true freedom in Christ through His Word! I don’t necessarily agree. I think it could be rude/intentionally mean but I don’t think that’s where he’s coming from and it’s very important to hear that answer. How can you read the Bible and not see it doesn’t line up with what you’re being told? Christians talk about the problem of misinterpretation so you can hear what you want, but what about her? She didn’t want to believe it was true but still did because she was afraid of what would happen if she didn’t.

They likely disapproved of men with facial hair. I remember many people in the 70's were very much bent out of shape over the issue. A few still are. I'm clean shaven, by the way, because my wife says beards make men look older. So I never had a personal stake in that frivolous issue.

Most, or at least many of us, probably know who this teacher is. I won't mention his name because it hasn't been mentioned up until now. He made great inroads into Evangelical churches in the 70's because his views seemed to he a good antidote for all that was wrong in society. Eventually it degenerated into a lot of abuse, wrecking churches, breaking up families, etc. It was the perfect setting for tyrants and other abusers. "I'm in charge, so shut up " was frequently said or something like that.

What a great testimony of how to pick out the lies in your life while also clinging to the love of the father. She’s right we will never be perfect we just know the one who is which gives us the grace and strength to be transformed and turn away frm our sin and not use Gods grace as an excuse to keep sinning but to keep asking Holy Spirit for help and understanding and practice self discipline and obedience soo we don’t keep harming ourselves. We go from faith to faith believing we will always be loved by a perfect father and he is transforming us into his holiness even as we are progressing little by little and it’s hard to see. While she may have walked away from one cult, she has, probably inadvertently, stumbled right into another one by attending the Grace Community Church and her husband being a part of the Master's Seminary...The cult of which I speak is Calvinism and the worst form of it being compatiblism, of which John McCarthur promulgates... Just as she said in the interview that she viewed Christianity through the lens Of Bill Gothard, she is now traded him in for John MacArthur and all other reformed teachers... Father I pray in the name of Jesus that both Jeremy and Jinger would be given the spirit of wisdom and revelation and that the eyes of their understanding would be enlightened to what your surpassing greatness is towards us... God does not play "Duck, duck eternal damnation for that one"..."Duck, duck salvation for this one"...and so on...

When I was a younger Christian, I had to pray about discernment on this one. One way God enlightened me was working on an Easter play and designing costumes from the past. Remember that in the past, men wore tunics, not pants, as we have today. In a way, they could be described like loose dresses, but they were designed specifically for men at that time, and women had their style of clothes. I believe it is not so much an issue of pants or tunics, but what truly represents male and female. I believe there also is a spiritual aspect attached to it and what it represents. No matter what, may the Holy Spirit lead and convict. If we think it is wrong and do it, then it definitely is rebellion. Ultimately, God weighs the heart.
