One of the best theater experiences of all time. Can’t beat it, I’m convinced. Top 5 movie to see in a packed theater. Rat Race was another one where nobody could stop laughing. Team America was another one. Just another level.
Saw this in the cinema in December 1996 and I swear *nobody* could stop laughing at this part. Didn’t know what happened in the next scene cause my eyes were watering. 😂🤣
Exactly. 0:11-0:24 - Despite his claims, at no point does he say "gift certificate" or "eventually" on the radio. It looks like foresight isn't really the DJ's strong suit. To elaborate, someone breaking into the studio and demanding that he give them the supposed Turbo Man doll is the last thing he should've expected. One also has to wonder how someone would react to being told they won a measly gift certificate and not an actual Turbo Man doll. It's also doubtful he was ready to face the backlash of any angry participants. When he explains what the prize actually was, Howard and Myron almost beat his head into the desk for his stupidity.
Actually he didn't. he just said they had the chance of winning the hottest toy in the world. I see no reason that'd mean he had a turboman doll in the studio.
Arnold running down the road while chanting their names is legit how I memorized the names of Santa's reindeer. It somehow moved into my brain and hasn't left in nearly thirty years
Don't forget, Jamie ended up giving up his Turbo Man action figure at the end of the movie after winning it at the Christmas Eve parade, but Howard still had that gift certificate if he wanted to get Jamie another one. The only downside is that he would've had to wait a week or two until they got more figures in stores. Just saying.

It's mentioned in a deleted scene where the tow truck driver is giving Howard a lift home after his car got ruined, and he's talking with her about how he should confess to his wife about failing to get Jamie the Turbo Man figure. He's also seen holding it when he's trying to get out of the radio station after the police arrive and fall for Myron's explosive package.
@Astralr When I first saw this movie after hearing the diner clerk say "hey look you guys", I thought he was going to say "you both better get out of here now before I call the police for fighting in my diner."

Arnold's Austrian-British-American accent always cracked me up 🤣🤣 When I heard he first learned the basics of English in London I understood why he pronounced some words like the British 😅
He lived in portsmouth UK for years and years and years and trained at my family’s gym down here - he has a slight Pompey accent with some of his words to this day when he calls my grandpa :)
I think the most funniest part of it was because they brought in so much hassle for nothing. Because even if one of them had won properly, they would have got a turbo man after Christmas.
