At least one metal singing voice expert vid I watched said that it's not actually false chord growl, but rather a vocal fry growl. I'm not an expert myself though.

Agreed, once you get through the initial shock, you really realize the high quality of the musical ability of not only Tatiana but the entire group.

It's funny cause they actually initially released this to showcase their new drummer, they weren't expecting Tatiana to steal the show on social media like she did.

I just watched this and I agree. I decided need more Kamelot in my life, I've put them on hold to for too long. I wonder why Pisces took off as a reaction video and not Arch Enemy or The Agonist

@@heathbarry6015 the thing with jinjer is.. Tatiana is one of the most well rounded singers there is. Her clean vocals aswell as her screams and growls are on point most of the time. I know Alissa has a super beautiful clean voice too but her screams arent as tecnical because they are self trained. I dont say alissa is a bad singer. In fact im a huge Arch Enemy fan. The part that makes this song so popular is.. 1. The song starts rly calm and goes in to this heavy chorus whitch most people dont expect. And the 2. Thing is that Tatianas growls are very low. If you listen to Alissa a lot you can hear her female voice through her screaming. And if you listen to Tatiana you can almost not tell if its her or a male vocalist. Whitch shocks non metal-heads rly ez. Thats why jinjer is more popular as a request than others^^ Edit: English is not my main language so pls be gentle haha

In this case, the word "live" can't be separated from the word "session" but unfortunately so many people do that and that creates the confusion. A live session, in recording terms, is when the whole band plays and records a song at the same time or "off-the floor", as we say, and they had to do it for video purposes. Of course no one who understands a little about music will expect a song they heard on a record with multiple vocal and guitar tracks to be played the same way live with a single singer and a single guitarist. All bands who do this have to adapt the songs so they can be played live and Jinjer is no exception, with the difference that they use a laptop with the extra guitar tracks that Roman can't obviously play live, as well as other sounds that were used on the records (like the clock's tic-tac on Captain Clock, or the intro to I Speak Astronomy), so that the audience can experience the songs as similar as possible to what's recorded. The only thing they don't do is use other vocal tracks live and I agree with them because it would sound weird. : )
