When it gets into the chilled out, breather section of the song, it gives me this rush of emotion. I legit nearly tear up whenever i hear it. I think it's because it feels like some sort of warm hug to me. She's hugging me with her voice and it's so comforting and beautiful

Jinjer is mixing genres and pushing metal into many new directions. To see this metal fusion, react to "Judgement and Punishment" ( One Take Vocal Performance). Tatiana is great and the song is very innovative.

I'm 43, Jinjer is one of the few new bands since the days of Metallica that I can take seriously. They really are the next evolution of metal. Great lyrics, excellent musicianship and her voice...so strong. The only band I put right up there with Jinjer right now is Gojira. So cool that i can still be excited and look forward to new albums again because I discovered these bands after decades of sticking to the classics hehe.

American heavy metal? They're from eastern Ukraine. The sound at the end was Eugene flicking the base string, you can see it at 8:53. The song is not telling something that happened to a band member, but I believe they know someone that had such an experience. And yes, it's not specifically about religious schools, but about questioning authority in general, as not everyone in a position of authority deserves to be in that position, has it all figured out themselves, or even your best interest in mind. The nun physically and mentally abusing the kids is more of a crass example. I always get a little sad when I see people think this is just an anti school / anti teacher song, as school and (good) teachers are very important. Can drop an updated list, minus the ones you already did (on RU-vid), if you want to check out more. Official video suggestions: Vortex Cloud Factory Retrospection Wallflower No Hoard Of Value (official lyric video) Home Back Mediator Sit Stay Roll Over Live suggestions: Perennial live at Wacken Who Is Gonna Be The One live On The Top live in Kiev Pit Of Consciousness live in Kiev Judgement & Punishment (one take vocal performance) Captain Clock live at Resurrection Fest RIP Ashli Babbitt. Fucked around & found out, dying while looking into at all those fat hamburger neckbeards that shove their smartphone cameras into her face. I don't think a whole lot of people even realize that the US could've now been on a completely different path, if it weren't for officer Eugene Goodman leading that heard of morons away from the still open door to all those politicians.

You two are awesome. This analysis on the end was great!!! I really love it when leople talk about stuff like that and really get into the meaning of the lyrics as i think this is one of the most important things about music. It's not just so you can turn off your brain and let some comforting melodies dripple into your ears. Music is a form of art that allows you to send a message to the world. Jinjer is one of those bands that have incredibly meaningful and valuable lyrics and as someone who writes poetry myself this is extremely important to me and i appreciate it alot. So it means alot to me when people actually take time to read the lyrics and think about what this lady just said. Greetings from Austria and have a wonderful day

This can't really be called American metal since they all hail from Ukraine. Tati and Eugene call it "Extreme Progressive", us fans just call it Jinjer as if it's a genre all itself. That distorted note you questioned at the end there is Eugene doing some cool bass stuff as seasoning for the outro. The song has strong Catholic imagery, but overall it's a call to not fall in to the logical fallacy of argument from authority. Don't believe just because they tell you to kind of thing.
@Pufferzsola
@Pufferzsola 2 года назад
Exactly. Just like Trivium. You hear 2 sec from it, and you know, that is their song. Tatiana got inspired by Otep and Gwen Stefanie, so you can get similarities in stylistic choices from there. I love their music, they are a fresh breath in the metal genre!

@@Pufferzsola Ukraine is 67% Orthodox, only 6% Catholic. Russian speaking areas of Ukraine, such as where Tatiana is from, would be even more Orthodox. If she is writing about her experience (or, more likely, the kind of thing she knows was happening) it would be Orthodox, not Catholic.

A "ferule" is the metal spine often found on yardsticks or rulers. I've seen some lyrics say "Pharaoh", but that's not right. I also had to look up the word "clou". It means a major point or interest or attention. "She gave a hint I was the clou of her mass" meaning she made me the center of attention in front of the mass of students or mass as in a religious gathering. English is Tatiana's second language and she's using words that I've never heard of as a native English speaker.

This reminds me of the Suicidal Tendencies song called "Institutionalized" here's some lyrics: "So we decided that it would be in your interest if we put you somewhere Where you could get the help that you need And I go: Wait, what are you talking about, we decided!? My best interest?! How do you know what's my best interest is? How can you say what my best interest is? What are you trying to say, I'm crazy? I wasn’t expecting clips from Kyle Kulinski and Ana Kasperian! Love them! It’s embarrassing that we keep finding ourselves in a situation of voting for corporate politicians because people are too stupid to realize they’re voting against their own interests. The US is an oligarchy-not a democracy, a representative republic, or a meritocracy. Even democrats fall into the “How are we going to pay for things like Medicare 4 All?!” Idk, maybe stop hemorrhaging money to uphold the military industrial complex for starters? 🤷‍♀️ Anyway, thank you for the reaction. Nice to see y'all enjoying some excellent Jinjer. This one took my song of the year for 2019- it's tremendous! :) Would be lovely if everyone would suddenly recognise red/blue political bollox is the kontrol mechanism of the oligarchic (& psychopathic) corporo-bankster overlords who own your "politicians". Hugely effective it is too, sadly- the masses indulging in Hegelian dialectic bickering, while said corporo-bankster demons steal your money, pollute the environment, steal more of your money thru devaluing your currency, send your children off to kill & die in needless wars they start for even more profit, etc etc.... & laugh at you not even noticing they're doing it, because you're all busy calling the other team "stupid". :( But anyhoo.... yes, Jinjer compose & perform some of the most satisfying music I've come across in my 5 decades. Always enjoyable to see folk appreciating it. Have y'all seen any of the 3 vids they dropped with singles for the new "Wallflowers" album? If not, I'm going to recommend "Vortex" since it hits a sweet spot between "Mediator" (intenseAF!), & "Wallflower" (chill for the most part). :)

Tatiana was inspired to growl by Otep, and first tried to growl singing Dig by Mudvayne (also a good example of the brbr-DENG sound Eugene does at the end which you asked about, as Eugene is highly influenced by their bassist Ryan Martinie), however her primary influence as a growler is Randy Blythe. When they were starting out they used to do a cover of Laid To Rest that is well worth looking for, only bootlegs exist on YT, best sound being the one uploaded by NosSam in 2012 with the title in Russian except the word Jinjer. You've gotta check out a concert performance video from them. Perennial live at Wacken is a classic but there are so many incredible performance videos and they are all great, and almost all overshadow the official videos. Who Is Gonna Be The One is heavy on the growls but is a classic with a segue into a whole other vocal style. On The Top and Pit Of Consciousness both live in Kiev. Too many to name. Cheers. P.s. I hadn't thought of the connection to abuse within the church but it is interesting that the psychology of all Abrahamic faiths is fundamentally abusive. It doesn’t matter that the cataclysmic flood is a lie, but if they believe they are at the mercy of a being that did something terrible then gave humanity a rainbow and promised not to do it again, then that belief gives the abusive relationship power in their lives. They don't actually have faith just spiritual stockholm syndrome.

Racism and hate is not a way to live a good life. Why do we need to be angry and mean to people just because they are different. Angry and mean is not happy and how can you live a good productive life without happiness? Thank you for the commentary I always enjoy listening to it. With the invasion of Ukraine by Russian, please do a reaction of "Home Back" (OMV) by Jinjer. It shows what Tatiana, the band and their families are going through at this moment. Here is Eugene's (the bass player) plea to the world: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MKs_gVgcfM4.html

I get what your saying about words are meaningless, unless you give it meaning. The same goes for any words that are considered to be 'racist', demeaning, or derogatory. It's so stupid to take offensive to it, right?

Remember it's the context that matters. Saying a racist word without malice means nothing, correct. But when used with intention to attack or spread hate, then that is when it matters. I see this mistake very often when people have this zero tolerance policy and try to cancel someone for the wrong reason. I get the sensitivity but we must remain reasonable and keep speech as free as possible as a result. Those that don't get it are the reason why we can't sensor speech. I get that and it's disappointing, but there will always be stupid people on both sides of any argument unfortunately.

Loved the reaction to the video, but wasn't thrilled with the, somewhat, one sided political rant. Maybe if you showed how both political parties are corrupt and how they don't give a damn about the people, then I would have appreciated it more. You showed the violence of Trump and Republican supporters at the Capital building but not the violence, rioting, looting, and killing by Antifa and others, including liberals, during the riots all over America. Both acts were triggered by acts, or lack of them. As you stated, reactions are triggered. One must condone all acts of violence. I was a Democrate for 33 years, a Republican for 5, and now an Independent. Why the change? I can't affiliate, nor tolerate, the moronic, childish, and dangerous acts of both parties. We need a level playing field so other parties can rise up and have the same advantages this two party system has.

You missed this part 00:29:51 . I am not a fan of the Dems, but I'm also a lesser of two evils kind of guy. I hope one day a true third party will rise that brings the change we need; but to ignore the current and continuing attack on democracy (and Reality) by Trump and the Republicans will make all of this a moot point. Your other point about Anti Fascists I simply don't agree with. I do not consider a fight for our country or a fight for justice the same thing as a terrorist attack. I have said on this show before, if what Trump said was true, then the attack on the capital would have been justified. Do you see the difference? I hope so, because very soon we will be on the other end of this thing. When the Republicans try to take power by force and destroy our democracy, do you think we should just let them? Do you think protesting for freedom, justice, or against tyranny is not going to get messy? Check you history books and find a revolution were no one got hurt. If cops were punished for breaking the law, there would be no BLM. If Republicans stopped trying to suppress votes and minorities, there would be no Antifa. Fighting for what is right is not the same as fighting for what is wrong. We currently have millions of people choosing to create their own reality, an idol to follow that is the perfect vessel for it, news outlets backing them up, and Facebook not giving a fuck. All of this has brought us to a tipping point that will not end well. You cannot reason with the unreasonable. Just as I wasn't surprised before, I won't be surprised again with what is still to come. It's all pretty obvious. Stay safe out there and hope to hell I'm wrong. I sure hope I am. ✊🤘

You forgot anti-Biden, anti-religion, and anti-stupid but yeah, it does suck when someone doesn't share your opinion. You should only listen to those that reinforce your world view. That way you can always remain in ignorant bliss. Such joy.
