You are the definition of an "open mind" so many people wouldn't even try to listen to something outside of "what I like" not only are you doing it, but doing it for the world to see. Kudos. Love from Scotland 🏴 🤘🏻
Tatiana shmaylyuk is the QUEEN of metal hands down. She has stated in a interview she does no vocal warm ups drinks and smokes then laughed and said "maybe I should start taking care of it better " lol You would be surprised on how many black people listen to jinjer and metal over all. Go to a Detroit show in harpos and you will see black people in the crowd
Agreed, this one has became my favorite as well. All the great bands consist of talented people at every instrument or microphone, and Jinjer fits that description. 🤘😝🤘
Listen Man, as a black man myself living in the hood I love this kind of music. Because it's so different the energy, the stories they tell, the comrade of people coming together creating magic. The world of metal is vast my friend. And It loves everyone.
Not really many if any females in Tatiana's range. Beyonce is great, lady gaga is great. But Tatiana's range is unreal and the band is the best. Regardless of where we grew up, music is always a gateway for people to come together and embrace in conversation. Great reaction!!
Not many black dudes in metal but you are all welcome ! We are a family ! If you want to hear a black dude singning like that, you can react to killswitch engage - the signal fire :D
Even if it’s not the genre of music a person prefers we have to admit this band is talented and entertaining. They prove they can play multiple styles and they’ve improved so much over the years. I really like the reggae elements they have in a few songs. Tatiana can sing pretty much anything and she’s a huge reggae fan. Bob Marley is one of her favorites actually. You implied that you’ve read the lyrics. I’m curious on what your thoughts are on the lyrics of the songs you’ve heard? There are a lot of real world experiences in the lyrics. Which I know you’ve learned from many of the metal songs you’ve checked out. Thanks for the 3 videos. Hope you check out some more from Jinjer.
Vlad (the drummer) is a beast on a crazy kit layout. Excellent band all around, and really cool people too. I had the opportunity to meet them, and they were all very cool. Especially Eugene (Bass player).
When you said, "I hope she ain't got no twin," there was genuine fear in your voice and that made me actually laugh out loud. Kudos to the editor and/or director of the video. And to the camera operators. All excellent work. Requests: Arch Enemy -- Bloodstained Cross Ra -- Do You Call My Name Band-Maid -- Play (If you already did this one, I apologize.)
That's exactly it there is nothing but respect for her talent I've never heard a singer, male or female that could make the transitions from one style of vocals to another so seamlessly and effortlessly before and the band is unbelievably talented.
I am an old school rocker. Classic rock. But this Jinjer is the first band to get me into newer metal. Soon after, I got into Slipknot. Try Slipknot...."Unsainted"
Awesome reaction! Music has changed SO much from what it used to be. Genres are NO longer defined by nationality. Which is the way it SHOULD be because music itself doesn't recognize color. There are black artists in the rock & metal game who are absolutely killing it. Sevendust, Fire From the Gods, Killswitch Engage & Light the Torch are just a few. I can't wait to see your reactions to them.
Good music is good music!! You feel it and just know! No matter hip hop or metal! This band is tight and her vocals are unmatched! Love to see people truly feel and recognize good music.
She’s got such a broad range. I’ve been a metal head all my life but always loved old school hip hop. Saw Heavy D , Cool Moe D , Hammer, way back(49 now). But the first time I watched one of their videos, it was a shock when such a heavy voice came from such a beautiful young lady! Love em! And thanks for your genuine respect for the artistry that all these bands have in common. Although you review a wide range of artists, they all are great in their own way. Thanks again for the great videos, and the laughs at your responses
I agree, Tatiana has a rap vibe sometimes. She can do everything hahaha And yeah! the guys are freaking awesome, there's a lot of cool stuff going on behind the vocals.
Holy $h!t Jinjer deep dive - I see the other videos on the side bar! \m/ For a metal band Jinjer has a fairly diverse audience. There are a few black RU-vidrs' who have talked about seeing them live, and when I saw them a lot of the audience wasn't just white dudes. They also have a lot of very passionate fans in Latin America if the bootlegs of their tour there last year are any indication - a lot of the time you can barely hear Tati over the crowd singing along and screaming.
It's so funny you say that, you now rarely listen to hip hop, discovering all this new music. Because for me it is the other way around. I never listened much to hip hop, but because of listening to reactors on youtube i'm learning to appreciate it more and more. It's growing on me amd i've been following rapbattles and stuff lol, and i love it. Great how people can learn from eachother when they are open minded. Whole new worlds can open up to enjoy. That's how it should be always.
Oldschool hip-hop and metal have always been a kindred tbh. And yeah, I'm in the same boat as you man, I grew up in the 80's and 90's and I loved metal and hip-hop, but I can't be arsed with modern day hip-hop at all anymore. To much autotune and guys that think talking gibberish is somehow impressive. Meanwhile, Metal is going through another golden age. So many damn good bands coming about and more and more people discovering metal thanks to stuff like RU-vid and Spotify. Games having replaced Music as the goto "xyz happened because of vidja games" has also helped metal a bit I think XD
You're so right about the whole band being wonderful. Tatiana has RANGE for days. Those blast beats are on point. The bass line that starts at 7:28 is absolutely gorgeous. I could go on.
best their song so far! kudos for "on this channel I don't discriminate". and this is one of the best examples of blast beats used right! if it doesn't sound like a machine gun - it's not a proper blast beat!
Me too.. I'm almost 60, I love Jinjer.. and you hit the nail on the head.. Love the old school Hip Hop. Today, I listen to quite a few things, but it's usually only once... Except some NF, I do enjoy some NF... anyway... Love this..
So exciting to share your journey into exploring new genres of music, it reinvigorates my own passion for all forms of music. And I am onboard with you regrading nearly all of the modern day Hip-Hop, I'm old school all the way; I keep trying new stuff but it just never _moves_ me, with very few exceptions.
Your willingness to keep an open mind and join the rest of us in experiencing different genres of music just got you a loyal subscriber! Your response and body language shows your love of music! Thanks for keeping it real brother! 👍🏻👍🏻
I love your mindset and your respect to a kind of music you are not in to at the first place. Your comments are always benevolent. it shows you are just sensitive to talent. Respect for that.
I love when people like you who don't really listen to music like this can really appreciate it. You have to be inteligent very inteligent in music to appreciate it. Very well done to you my friend
A good number of black people listen to metal. I know at least 6 or 7 black friends of mine who listen to metal, and I'm also black, but not American. All these friends are in Tanzania (East Africa) where I grew up, and that's where I started listening to metal years ago. It's freakin everywhere man. Maybe fewer black Americans listen to metal cause hip-hop is part of the culture in a way.
I went back to the meet and greet here in Mesa AZ and the dude in front of me was wearing an Ice Cube Shirt and Tatiana said to him, “it was a good day!”
This is a dope song. Her singing voice reminds me of Cristina Scabbia of Lacuna Coil, but then she has all these singing styles, and hits you with the growl.
All that's missing is a goat, candles, snake and pentagram and this band will be "smok'in". Remember fella's. These girl growlers can only growl at you while standing up. Wink, Wink. lol
Jamel I had to give you a sub, man it is awesome to see people step out of their comfort zone of music an step into other genres, and appreciate talent in something their are not use to hearing. Keep up the videos man, this community loves to see these. Thanks for the videos Jamel. Welcome to the world of jinjer, they will blow your mind with every video.
Love your reactions. I'm in the same boat love some old school rap and hip hop. One of my all time favs is Posse on Broadway. Tatiana is an amazing talent. She is incredibly humble and honest. Check out some of her interviews. I watched Prices and then watched her give a tour of their tour bus. I was hooked. Keep being you I'm a huge fan.
I know I am late to the show, catching up on the old ones but, it is nice to see you pause it and recognize the band. Tatiana gets all the credits for what she does and her looks but the Drum and bass in this band is stupid good. The band as a whole phenomenal not just the singer. Good reaction. thanks
Just another one out there I would highly recommend and even people that don't like symphonic metal would appreciate this talent and the group is called "NIGHTWISH". The song is called "GHOST LOVE SCORE" , and the lead singer is "Floor Jansen" A Dutch band. The transitions in that are unbelievable breathtaking.
Glad to see the reaction requests are getting you into a buncha new genres - metal is one of those genres that work really well in the gym or running for me.i used to listen to rap or classic rock lifting... now it HAS to be metal.... and i still love my hiphop in the car. My eyes got opened to Jinjer last year... and now I Cant wait to see them live the next time they come to LA
I know what you mean, as a 50 year old white dude.. Old school hip hop is also my choice in hip hop.. except NF, I do enjoy NF..I listen to just about everything.. well everything really, every genres of music .. But, someone asked the question at my work the other day, where are the new superstar medal bands of the last 20 years or so? I beginning to think they are all in Europe and Scandinavia now.
Tatiana is fucking amazing on her own, just sucks that because of her talent most people don't notice the incredible musicians this band possesses. They are overall one of the most musically talented bands on the planet.
I love the classic stuff that you react to. Great memories! But I’m also a 55 yo musician and have fallen in love with Jinjer. They have a great catalog of music to react to. Such versatility that no 2 songs are alike. If you want to see that on display try Judgement and Punishment. And also I speak astronomy. Side note; heard Andy and Alex return a shout-out to you today. I am a sub to both yours and their channels. Peace and love and positivity to you brother.
Feel the same way. Although I did grow up listening to music like this BUT, most of what I hear new today “isn’t doing it.” I saw this band last week up in NH... God damn. They are crazy good. They’re the best thing since Tool, in my opinion. Oh yea, Tool’s still killing it!
Have three songs I love by Jinjer, you done 2 of them, the last one is punishment and judgment. It's there latest singel. That music video is amazing 😃 Judgment and punishment.. Damn never get this right 😆.
haha yeah, that's an awesome song - first off their new album with some very substantial reggae influences. My neck was so sore after the weekend it came out.
Jamal there's a old cat that has listened to metal for a long time, and that's Ice T. He has a metal band called Body Count, that he started to help one of his friends, whom also loved metal. If I'm not mistaken he plays guitar in Body Count.
Metal, jazz, and rap are my favorite forms of music. I think it's great you're branching out :) The drummer in me loves this band. You really have to be on top of your game to play like this. P.S. If you want to completely blow your mind, watch any video of her being interviewed. She's so NORMAL. She comes off as a very regular & relatable person -- it makes the vocals even more shocking.
I never watched you before, then saw your viewing of jinjer, Pisces. And now teacher teacher. Love your response, the look on your face when she sang Pisces was priceless. I praise your open mindedness and can tell you were truly impressed with her vocal skills as well as the bands incredible sound. But tell me honestly, if this same band didn't have such a beautiful lead singer, would you still have the same opinion of them? Not to be judgmental, yes she is incredibly lovely and has a excellent vocal range, but if it was a long haired, tatted up guy with the same vocal style, would you honestly be as impressed? Thanks and keep up the good work, now I have to go check out the rest of you're reaction vids.☮️
It's great to hear that you have an open mind. I like the old school rap & hip-hop too. I bet you like some Montel Jordan too. Nobody does it like South Central does. Hell yeah bruh!
