Tiny little woman, HUGE voice, HUGE stage presence! Their latest single, "Judgement & Punishment" has straight reggae parts in it. Tati always cites Bob Marley as one of her biggest influences. Eugene, the bass player, cites Jaco Pastorius, and, Victor Wooten as some of his, so, that's where their wonderful, complex Jazz/Fusion feel comes from.
Anon Nymous What a killer combination of styles and influences. These are so much of what keeps me glued to the speaker when they play. Tati does also keep my eyes glued to the screen while watching. So does Eugene as his style is so interesting. I also love the guitar and drums. Just an exceptional band in every right. All of them. Fantastic!
Even though it doesn't look like it, it's all love at metal shows. All different types of people from all different walks of life come to these shows. I've stood next to people I'd never met and made friends with them instantly because of the music. One love 🤘🤙🤘
Went to their gig in Manchester (UK) in December - quite a few black and other non-white people there, and it was all cool. Like Herbivore 710 said, the crowd might look scary in the videos, but the attitude down amongst it is 100% good. People are playfully cannoning into each other one second and then picking each other up and making sure they're okay the next. It's quite the experience.
We ALL are in love with Tatiana! I really appreciate you throwing love towards the rest of the band as well. They're all so talented and their chemistry is phenomenal. They literally don't have a bad song, so you don't need to stop with these songs. I've seen JINJER twice in concert, and believe me, you won't be the only black dude there. You will definitely be the minority... Lol, but you won't be alone. Plus, metal concerts in general are very accepting and welcoming. Contrary to perception, metal heads are kindhearted and gracious. We work out our issues with the music lol. They're currently in the middle of an American tour, so if you want to catch them live you better hurry. A lot of venues are selling out, so good luck!
She might be the most talented front-person I’ve ever seen. On a scale of 1-10 she is a 10 in every aspect. Growling, clean vocals, stage presence, style, songwriting. And that’s not even touching on the band as they are every bit as talented at what they do.
You, sir, are showing what happens when we open our minds to different genres of music and, by extension, different cultures. I think we all could learn more about the world around us instead of playing to the expected "norms" or succumbing to our fears about one another. Huge respect to you...Keep it up!
And it's even better when it's Metal played by people from non-typical Metal cultures, which is the case with Jinjer (Ukraine) or Gojira (France) or Fleshgod Apocalypse (Italy). : )
@@mrsleep0000 they have old Vlogs from a few years back, after signing with Napalm but before their success started to pick up. It is cool seeing them before they started growing. If you watch 50 seconds into Vlog #5 there is a funny scene with Tati clowning around. :D
Nah, you're fallin' in love with the band, bro. Their songwriting is out of this world, and they execute flawlessly. Tati just so happens to be one of the greatest vocalists (and could definitely be in the conversation for the greatest) in metal music. And her charisma is off the charts. So yeah, you're probably falling in love with her too. Can't say I blame you. :D
Nice said man. This band as a whole ie amazing,, musically and lyrically.. and the guys and gurl are entertaining and humble in person.. gonna see them slaying here in Baltimore in a few hours
You're a real one, man! Welcome to our world of heavy metal! Jinjer are easily one of the most exciting bands active today, as they seem to just get better and better. They work hard too, spending most of the last couple years on tours and still cranking out an EP earlier this year and an LP coming next month! Glad you like it, mate. And don't worry, Tatiana casts a spell on all of us... men, women, gay, straight, it doesn't matter!
This concert was at the Atlas festival, in their home country, so she felt a bit more at home and without the "stress" of the language barrier. : ) Who Is Gonna Be The One talks about all the bad things mankind is doing to itself and to planet Earth and it urges everyone to pick up their "weapon" of choice and stand up against all those bad things. In the 1st chorus she asks "who is gonna be the one to do it?" and in the 2nd chorus she says "c'mon you mofo, step up of the crowd, raise your fist in the air and shout out loud 'I'm gonna be the one!'". These lyrics sound so relevant today, don't they? Yet, Tatiana wrote them 6 or 7 years ago. Like 61!
Such a awesome protest song. I really appreciate the ending "don't deny the past you lived, don't neglect the future you have" because I was on the wrong side of this stuff politically for most of my life. That principle that a lot of us are doing stuff that isn't the best for the world now, but if we are all going to be "the one" to stand up and make the choices necessary to change things we have to straddle the gap between who we were and who we need to be. I find the depth of her wisdom expressed through simple lyrics in this song stunning.
I found this band about a year ago on YT just like you. Fell in love with them so much. I have VIP tickets to meet them in a couple weeks. Can't wait!!
I just saw them live a couple weeks ago and they are definitely a great live band, near studio sound and perfect flow to maintain the crowd. This is one of those bands that any song is going to be a good one, but my personal favorite you haven't hit yet is the official video for 'I speak Astronomy'. Its one of those something for everyone type songs and has a great video. As a side note, I know you don't have time to get into the lyrics during since growls especially can be hard to understand but all their songs have pretty cool things behind them and a lot of times are filled with imagery. Pisces uses the two fish of the astrological sign to talk about two elements of her personality in opposition, teacher teacher was more about thinking for yourself and where you put your faith, perennial touches a lot on depression and this one is actually an environmental call to action. Really cool and a lot of depth behind it all.
The great thing about this band is that all the band member bring it. Other bands with female leads, the band members are just a backdrop for the female singer. Not Jinjer. They’re all there at the front. Their bassist is so legit. He’s so good.
I have to admit. I've led a sheltered life and didn't know about Jinjer until about 2 months ago, and I'm HOOKED! You're (everybody) is right, she has got something special... but the whole band does and unfortunately they don't get as much attention (naturally)... but they all ROCK! Love you Tats!!! Oh, and you too Jamel.
So happy you finally experienced the brilliance of Jinjer. Glad you like them! You get it! Their musicianship as a whole is top class. Rock on brotha! 🤘
Great reaction - it was lots of fun jamming with you to this song this morning haha. Loved your face when she went really low. In concert, I felt that part in my bones - so impressive! And wow, you picked up on the reggae quick! They are incredibly creative. Someone asked Eugene the bassist and manager what genre "umbrella" they fall under and he said "We don't like umbrellas, we prefer to get soaked!" The combination of musical and vocal complexity with thought-provoking lyrics is addictive. I don't know how many hundred times I've listened to this song and it never gets old - and this is one of their simpler ones in a lot of ways! Check out "Judgement (&Punishment)" which is the first release off their new album called Macro (their previous release was an EP called Micro - nerds!) and it has more reggae in it.
Every ten to twenty years or so a phenomenal Star leaves heaven and comes to earth and takes the music industry by storm to a new level, this girl and her band are the new next big thing.
Great reaction! This was a first for me, didn't know this band and I got to say I'm hooked and want to hear more! Please react to something of Dimmu Borgir, it seems you haven't reacted to them yet. Check their concert in Wacken 2012, Ozzfest of 2004 or their live DVD Forces Of The Northern Light. It may be a first for you, too ;) Greetings from Germany :)
React to 'Just Another'..'Scissors'..'Outlander'..'Bad water' (all smooth vocals in this 1)..'Sit Stay Roll Over'..(real heavy)..'I Speak Astronomy'...welcome to Jinjer journey
I actually looked up a lot of their videos after a friend first sent me this same video because I was like damn. Are they really using jazz techniques in metal. That bass played is bad ass. And the drummer damn. Then add a killer guitar player and an amazing singer on top. They will be a beast in the metal world if they keep this up.
That has to be one of the best live performances I’ve ever seen!!! Vocals and musicians!!! 🤘. Throwing in a little reggae too. They can play anything!!!
First time i saw this video, when she started bouncing around the stage, the first thing i thought of was Zack De La Rocha from RATM and his energy on stage.
You need to react to Emma Heesters - Strong | Beste Zangers 2019 Floor from Nightwish wrote this song about her mother's battle with a rheumatism every day. Emma sings this song to Floor because her mother fought cancer so this connected them. The show has singers sing songs either by the nights chosen artist or a song that is special to the person. The entire show is amazing. None of the fake conflicts that you see in US shows. This show is all about celebrating the music and the performers in turn. After that choose literally anything Floor sings on the show and the Nightwish army will show up. There will be 7 performances by Floor total, she has done 5 so far.
It is kinda short, I've seen some reaction channels double up with both the official video and the "one shot" live performance video at Mystic Festival which is a continuous take with a single camera - incidentally the sound editing was done by a former drummer named Dmitry Kim who played with the band for a while until they could connect with Vlad and bring him aboard as their current drummer.
Dude, speaking of reggae, I think you'll be really surprised when you listen JINJER - Judgement (& Punishment). Not sure if it's reggae or ska, but the song is cool.
Get to see JInjer in 4 weeks - pumped! Check out Devin Townsend ... best male metal singer out there. Also one of the best guitarist, song writers, producers, and comedians! Start with 'Kingdom' on EMGTV because it's only him and he really hams it up for the camera.
Pick one thing to be impressed with; Her voice, the lyrics, the musicians, pick ONE to focus on, then watch the video again, focus on another part, no matter which one you start with and which on you end with, you'll be impressed.
If you want Reggae and Metal you should check out Skindred. One of the best live bands I've ever seen. A good one to start with is Skindred Warning Newport Helicopter live at Download 2011😁
I am telling you bro, if they come to the states you MUST go!! I am white as rice but my brother in law is black and I have drug him kicking and screaming to a few rock concerts now....and he is HOOKED!!! Does he go out of his way to listen to rock/metal...not really, but he always says after the concert that the experience is dope as hell!!! Go you wont be disappointed!!
Saw them Sept 22 2019. Guard said she wont come out the bus. She immediately goes into recovery for next show. Hung out with Vlad and Roman for 2 hours. They killed my smokes. Had to run down the street to pick up more. Gave 2 packs to each. Camel Blue 99's, by the way. Wish I could send you pics. They were absolutely fantastic. One of the best shows I've ever seen. Probably wont happen again. They are getting to big now
3:25 It's so cute how you seemed like you were about to chide her for swearing :D Seriously, though, there's something about Jinjer's music that forms emotional bonds in a way that I never felt with other phenomenal bands like Pantera or Metallica. Not saying Jinjer is better than them, but when a metal band can do something that those titans couldn't, that's special.
i know its off the genre, but im like you! we appreciate every TALENT. so please react to Dimash singing SOS. that is not as hot as this band, but im sure you will respect his talent
You will not be the first black person to go see Jinjer. Petty much every black person who has reacted to this band is a fan and many have gone and are going to see them. I saw a lot of black folks at the last Jinjer concert I saw and expect to see many more when I see them again October 16th. The metal community welcomes EVERYONE. Race religious views politics sexual preference and all other divisive shit is checked at the gates of a metal show. Once inside we are all family, one big community. Get your ticket and rock out to Jinjer. You won't be disappointed
