I consider myself fortunate to have seen J.J. Cale live in concert in 1980. He opened for Charlie Daniels Band at Atlanta's Fox Theatre. As the opener it was just him, a bar stool and a Les Paul on stage for 45 minutes of Cale's great tunes. Incredible good times.
