I went to Jacksonville and Gainesville for the first time last week, and made a point to drive to Lochloosa. I found a dirt road off of Hwy 301 on the south side of the lake, which took me to a scene that perfectly resembled this song. I pulled this video up while I sat on the bank, and listened and enjoyed. The wildlife was amazing and a bald eagle even flew over. Thank you JJ!
Ocala fl where I call home and Crystal River for 30 plus years. And Ocala made news again. It use to be a sleepy little town where there were cows everywhere and Mustangs ran free. Now 😢, it's hard to find a native Floridan anymore.

My Lochloosa is Perkiomen valley airport (N10). I grew up there, my Dad let me fly his plane before I drove his car. There are public pictures however, they do no justice. I have great pictures

i was sitting around a table with some friends at a place in Lake Worth, FLA. The evening jam session after group all day. Rehab. A friend put this on, no one was really paying attention, we were just chillin, and the guitar solo came up and I said "who the fuck is this?" "JJ Grey and Mfro," she replied. Been listening to it ever since, rehab didn't stick, but Lochloosa still jams almost on the daily.

Grew up in Grove Park Florida and road the dirt roads of the wildlife management area that surrounds this lake. This song hits my soul on a different level. Learned to drive on those roads, learned to swim in Lochloosa Creek, got my first kiss in those woods. I live in Jax now but that will always be home. Much love JJ

This song is grandmas apple pie on a beautiful summer evening sitting out side in the rocking chair listening to the birds sing. Doesn't get much better than this. I wish the studio version of this song was as good as the live version, I think a lot more people would have heard of the band if this version was put on the radio, it's absolutely fantastic.

My best friend sent me this yesterday.I"m hooked.I live 50 Milestone from Lake Lochloosa! Born,bred and raised on Lake Locklossa! My family had a mobile home on the banks and I started fishing at the ripe Old age of 2 years of age.
Just saw this band about a month ago . . . had no idea who they were, or what to expect . . . The opening band (Dragondeer, I believe they were called) were so damned good, i thought JJ Grey had made a mistake . . . getting such a kick-ass band to open for them . . . I was wrong! MAN this band blew me away! I don't know how to describe it . . . but I can say that I have never felt better heading home from a show, than I felt that night! Seeing them again on January 23rd at the Anaheim HOB . . . can't hardly wait!
Years back I went to a show with 4 bands playing...the main draw for me was to see Galactic, but BB King and Jeff Beck were also on the bill, along with some band with a weird name called Mofro (Grey put his name out front some time late after his grandma asked if he was ashamed to use name.) who I had never of, opened the show. Holy shit were we glad we got there early enough to catch what we did of their set... when they left the stage it was still almost broad daylight, and the place didn't seem to be even 1/4 or maybe 1/3 of the way full yet at most. To say that the people not there yet missed out, is an epic understatement, never saw an opening band command attention and respect the way they did. With that in mind, I'm gonna make a note to have a look into Dragondeer.
I live in Florida, have for 30 years. My mother is from Miami via Georgia and lived in Jacksonville for a time. My father is a North Carolinian who was raised mostly in Alabama and Florida (Florala and Arcadia) and both of my grandparents on his side died in Jacksonville. I’ve lived equal parts in NC and MD with most of my years in Florida. Home. I have 2 Lochloosa’s. A mountain in Virginia near Stanley and Shark River Valley on the Miccosukee reservation in South Florida. This song and this band has a big fan. When I hear this song I think of these places. My Lochloosa is Powell River, British Columbia ... winter snows would come and drop a foot overnight and silence the farmland so you could hear a pin drop. Since I was a kid the Deer, Elk, Bear, Wolves and Mountain Lions have all returned. Summer nights at the beach watching the sun set over Vancouver Island. God I miss back home. Thanks for this.

Just drove a load thru Lochloosa on 301 today. Can’t say I saw much of the place from the rig, but just seeing that familiar town name brought a smile to my face.

Man I have been a fan for several years Seen JJ and MOFRO 3 times. The Salvage Station Asheville, White Water Center Charlotte and Windjammer Charleston sc. Great show every time. Fantastic voice and great musician. Nothing but talent. Can’t help but notice Todd and Dennis have been with JJ forever. Those are the kinda guys everyone needs in their life. Hope to see JJ many more time in the future. I really love it when he does his music in the traditional style After all it is what people have come to love. Please keep it up
