There’s some debate in the comments about my choice to not label this as holocaust denial, and whether the holocaust encompasses all peoples targeted by the Nazis. So let me clarify that my decision to focus on this as “Nazi crime denial” rather than “holocaust denial” is primarily due to feeling that I personally was not on solid ground to make that case. That’s not to say the case can’t be made, and my one regret was in making that distinction as more of a hard line with my language than was warranted. And there’s also the issue of Rowling’s notoriously liberal use of threatening to sue people for how they talk about her, and I felt safer using the language that had been affirmed by German courts recently (as I went into) to describe the things she was saying. The comments have also introduced me to the concept of “holocaust minimalization” (not denying the entire thing but attempting to reduce its scope) which I might have been comfortable using had I been familiar. So again, I probably overstated the distinction and if somebody else wants to make the argument that this does constitute holocaust denial, I certainly wouldn’t push back on it.
@johnnyringo80

That's all in all correct. As far as I understand, the terms get often mixed up in an international context, but in Germany, the distinction is very strict. That is also why Vollbrecht's statetemnt was not liable per se, because for common Nazi-crime denial to be punishable, it has to "disturb the peace" and "incite hatred" (which is the general term for the crime itself: "Volksverhetzung") and that is not the case in an academic dispute. So both statements, the one by Vollbrecht and the one calling her "Nazi-crime denier", were per ruling of the court covered by free speech.

I think book burnings and the murder of queer people for being queer is an incredibly important aspect of the project of the holocaust, but it is also nazi crimes. The holocaust wasn’t just about Jews, it was anybody who was seen as degenerate, Jews were just one of the groups considered degenerate by the nazi project. It’s holocaust denial for sure, as a Jew myself I would heavily stand by that, but the holocaust consisted of many nazi crimes, so at a certain point it’s just semantics

If it helps, I have seen other videos use the phrase "Holocaust minimalization," which broadens what Rowling did a little bit, but also ties in the implications or effects of her actions. Namely that she is not denying that the Holocaust happened, but is attempting to downplay the severity of certain events or the treatment of certain people - namely, saying that trans persons were persected for other reasons, or that being transgender was a low priority for the army of imperial fascistic eugenecists.
@136jab

I understand why you made the distinction, but everything I have ever learned as a Jewish Trans woman is that the Holocaust includes all groups that were targeted for extermination, not just the Jews. Additionally, separating out the other groups is the same as the people who try to separate Trans people from the LGBTQIA+ community because we are more of a target than they are. "First they came for the..." Personally, I have been calling her a Holocaust denier ever since this happened. Also, from a legal standpoint, I believe that it falls under Holocaust denial or minimalization in Germany at least, and maybe in some other countries.

I will place one thing in here, the Holocaust occurred to my people as well. I am Romani. I have photos of my family who died in camps. Disabled, LGBTQIA (which I am as well), Government Radicals, Anti-socials, Jewish (which I am as well), Romani which I am, as well as many others were persecuted, executed, and destroyed in the Holocaust. The hideous event of the Holocaust was perpetrated against many peoples. While yes, the Jewish people, again which I am in part, shouldered the weight of horrid things, it doesn't mean that others didn't suffer the same cruelties. It is messy, hideous, horrid, appalling and disgusting that the Holocaust happened. The saddest thing is that in so many ways history could repeat and that scares me.

Thank you. I live in the UK and our government has just been called out by the UN for committing human rights violations against our disabled population, including persisting with policies that it knows are killing them in their hundreds*, including via starvation, which is one of the weapons the N**is used. The UN's investigation and findings have had next to no media coverage. That kind of thing is why it's so important not to exclude targeted groups from the definition. It's not something that happened once and can be safely put away and talked about in vague terms. It's an ongoing danger. *Or more; they won't release the figures, which is sinister in itself.

As a trans/genderfluid person, I am of course personally troubled by this, but I am also disturbed by this as a librarian. JKR's books (you know the ones) have a long history of book bannings since the first book was published back in the 1990s and all because they dared to have magic in them. Back then, the trend in literary censorship was to ban books that had magic or witchcraft in them because they were seen as promoting those things. Now, the trend in literary censorship is to ban books with LGBTQIA+ content, particularly books that have transgender content. So now that she's directly denying the Nazi book burnings of transgender content, it's just so hypocritical of her because the entire book world (authors, publishers, critics, librarians, schoolteachers, fans, etc) fought vehemently for her and her books when they were being mass banned. And now she's participating in book burning denial. Again, it's hypocritical and disturbing, and it's a slippery slope. The road from Nazi book burning denial to promoting and participating in book banning is a short one. I'm reluctant to see how much further she'll go with this.

Are there any concentration camps out there were you are being deported to, forced to stripped naked before given some racks and put to work? No? Then stop comparing yourself. It's just tasteless, and just shows how out of touch you are. You're not living in a militant dictatorship we're any wrong word can deliver you and your family into concentration camp. The point about language limitations is important. Sometimes people were supportive but didn't have the words to say it. My great aunt, who would have been 100 (she died at 99), used gay to refer to a gay, bisexual or trans man and lesbian to refer to a lesbian, bisexual or trans woman. Yes, she thought gay was LGBTQ+ male and lesbian was LGBTQ+ female. German trans gal here. Just as an addendum: Neither the bookburning of May 10, 1933, nor the raid of the Institut für Sexualwissenschaft of Magnus Hirschfeld four days prior were a war crime. I think it is important to acknowldedge taht these events and others that were part of the first chapter of the Holocaust - the biggest and most industrialized exterminationist campaign in world history so far - did not happen under the cover of war and its chaos, but in times were they were very visible and understandable for the German public as means of consolidatin fascist power and attacks on everything deemed deviant. The Nazis didn't treat their crimes as extraordinary, but as very normal and in their view neccesary part of structuring the everyday live under their rule - as part of ther cultural reordering of society. Of course, the peak of the Holocaust happened during the war, but these concentrated attacks on political and ideological enemies and minorities happened visible under the public eye of the German and global society. War crime as a category suggests that an event happens under extraordinary circumstances of miliary operations and icreased violence, sometimes in the form of strategic, weaponized terror. The beginning of the Holocaust and the "cleansing" of the German Volkskörper however was very orderly set into motion with a clear agenda and even broadcast and publicly staged not by the military and under complicity of acteurs of the civic society. I think taht's important as we understand patterns of today in the light of their ideological and political history of discipline, control, opression, and organized extermination.

@criminallezbian9294
@criminallezbian9294 2 месяца назад
@@HotDogTimeMachine385 I am working as political educator in the German context, so I see a big complexity in the question. The 'orthodox' interpretation sees the term Holocaust only applied to persecution of Jews and maybe Sini and Roma, because these were the two groups targeted for extermination on the largest scale. However, even the acknowledgement that Sinti and Roma were systematically persecuted had to fought for against this orthodox interpretetion. So I'd say, there is more to a full understanding of the Holocaust, than just the Antisemitism. BUT - and here it gets complicated - the Nazi Antisemitism was central in the Holocaust and the character of persecution. Jewish people were the biggest group targeted and the clearest scapegoat. At the core of the ideological construction of the Nazis stood the demonized Othering of Jews as everything 'Ungerman'. So the persecution of the Jews, with a clear exterminationist goal was the pillar of National Socialism. And we have to acknowledge that the term Holocaust historically was used to describe crimes and attacks on ethnic minorities specifically. For example the attacks on the Armenians by Ottoman and Turkish majorities at the end of the 19th century were called holocausts by British authors. Therefore the term Holocaust in regards to Nazi led persecutions was firstly explicitly used to describe the organized realization of their exterminationist Antisemitism. From my critical perspective as an educator and researcher who tries to formulate a complex understanding of things that might also help in liberatory political engagement with these issues, I think it is important to go beyond that (whilst staying respectful especially to Jewish, Sinti and Roma survivors and their descendants). First, we have the Hebrew term Shoah, as a descriptor of the events regarding to the antisemitic extermination. So I'd say at least we can differentiate between Holocaust as a whole and the Shoah in regards to the persecution of Jews at its core and center. There is also the Romanes term Porajmos that Sinti and Roma people use to describe the genocide of their groups under the Nazis (however, this term is also debated within the respective groups). Further, I think the attack on Hirschfeld and his Institut can help us understand this even better in its nuances, beyond single issue definitions. Hirschfelds work was seen as problematic because he was Jewish and also because of his challenging of the heterosexual, cisgender Aryan norm of the Volkskörper. He was a gay man, a socialist, and a scientist interested in science's emancipatory potential for the improvement of society. All these reasons come together to make him the target of the Nazis. This makes him the perfect person for the Nazis to project their propaganda on: "The Jews are trying to undermine society with sexual perversion, intellectualism, deviance and socialism..." When Hirschfeld in his time was targeted, it is for similar reasons why TERFs today target Martine Rothblatt as a prominent Jewish trans woman, in order to "proof" their conspiracy theories. Further more Hirschfeld was actively lobbying and working on emancipatory politics such as ending LGBTQIA+ discrimination, anti racism (although in his time and context we still have to be critical with his eugenicist leanings), feminism and socialism. The attack on the Institut as center if Hirschfelds work and as hub of German LGBTQIA+ self organization in that time was explicitly motivated by Antisemitism. But the thinking of the Nazis was (and this is also mirrored often today if you look close enough) that Queerness, socialism, feminism, disability and so on are the result of the imagined degenerative effect of Jewish influence on society. So to bring all this together. Yes, LGBTQIA+ people were targeted specifically in the Holocaust and one of the most prominent events, that was staged to setup the ideological base in German society to enact the following extermination campaign was the book burnings on May 10, 1933, where everything deemed Ungerman was destroyed - namely in big numer over 12.000 books, research protocols, archive material, film rolls, paintings etc. from the Institut für Sexualwissenschaft that was raided by the SA and the Nazi students union 4 days prior. This was not because Hirschfeld was Jewish and the Institut catered towards queer people, but because the catering towards queer people was linked to Hirschfelds Jewishness by Nazi ideologues. The following, ever increasing violence, criminalization and persecution of LGBTQIA+ people, especially gay/bi men and trans fem folks who were prosecuted as Homosexuals but also lesbians/bi women and trans masc folks as Asocial was part of the bigger project of cleansing the 'Ungerman'. I am critical of perspectives that pin the Nazi persecution on only specific groups to the detriment of others. But I am equally critical of relativizing the role of the persecution of specific groups, such as Jewish people in the Holocaust (bc often enough, this goes hand in hand with conscious or unconscious antisemitic bias). The big problem in that is in my opinion that we are conditioned to see things in terms of concrete identities and therefore parallel single issues. I find this view of limited use as it prevents us from connecting the dots and seeing the bigger picture in history and the bigger picture in events that are happening today on this historical continuity. The persecution of queers was a function of the Antisemitism and therefore part of the Holocaust. Equally the criminalization of queers was a tool of stigmatizing the perceived Other that fed the Antisemitism central in Nazi ideology. Today we see imperialist, racist and nationalist acteurs using anti LGBTQIA+ panic in much the same way. If you dig deep enough you'll find the Antisemitism in most of the anti-trans pundits as well as the connections towards other exterminationist ideas such as Ableism, Racism, Fatphobia... that are parts of a amalgam with the goal of creating a 'pure' (national) society. Hope that brings it to a point and apologies for the long windedness of the answer 😄 Since this is at the core of my work, I tried to present the nuance without writing an essay in the comments.

You perhaps don’t need to use the term war crimes here, which often involves exculpatory justifications; these typically take the form of ‘I had to kill him, because otherwise he would have killed me’ that might have some possible justification in a ‘theatre of war’ which they would not be capable of in a time of peace. Many Nazi crimes fall more broadly under the banner of crimes against humanity, especially since some of the crimes of preparing for the genocidal atrocities they eventually committed later, occurred long before the declaration of war. Edited to add - I think your long reply appeared while I was writing this much shorter one. I just wanted to say I generally agree with your points but my little point was that responding to terminology such as war crimes should invoke talking more generally about crimes against humanity, which can happen in times of war or peace.

Actually, experts do not agree that the term “holocaust” solely refers to the Jewish genocide in WW2. Not only is it a term that has been used prior and since. But also, ppl do include other victims of the Nazis in the term “holocaust”. Especially Romani ppl. The Shoah is however exclusive to Jewish ppl. the issue is, that the term is in several European countries a legal term, due to laws prohibiting the public denial of the events. Since the societies right after WW2, that passed these laws all considered being gay, cross dressing etc. a crime they HAD to morally and legally seperate the term Holocaust from the fate of the LGBTQ+ and polutical dissidents under the Nazi regime. I think it is a transphobic and homophobic position to still hold on to this seperation. But people that think there is something very wrong with the queer community obviously cannot do this. They need to hold on to the view of the innocent jews vs. the gays that in a way brought it on themselves by breaking the law of the time. Their cognitive dissonance would otherwise probably kill them... or they could even change their mind, and that is not allowed!

Rowling then decided to say "Ah but that proves that trans people weren't the first or primary target of the Nazis," and then refused to back down when people rightly pointed out that this wasn't anything that the OP had said. Even before she started walking down this road, given the gender essentialism that is sprinkled in her works (HP or her detective series), she's likely held those beliefs on a subconscious level, and rather than examine why she holds them when she was called out for her transphobic actions, she chose to ignore those criticisms and instead surround herself with sycophants that enable and even affirm her beliefs regardless of the harm they cause

Renee Richards had to go to court to get allowance to play. She later became a coach of world reknown openly lesbian tennis player Martina Navratilova in a time where homosexual acceptance was way lower than nowadays. Issues like gun safety for schools, feeding kids, health care, and education reform which are lightyears more important than any kind of "competitive advantage" by one person one time. There's simply not an army of trans women trying to overtake women's sports. Lia Thomas, Dylan Mulvaney... many others are blamed for all of society's ills, when they have little to do with much of anything. They're just trying to live their lives. What i think may have led to this idea, is that trans and gay people continued to be persecuted by the allies after the war. Many who survived the camps, found themselves thrown into prisons after the allies cleared the camps. So, not only is it a form of denial and revisionism, but also a way to avoid addressing the inhumanity we continued to heap upon lgbtq folks.

I suspect that's at least partly because over here in the USA, we never directly felt the impact of it the way Europe did? It's something left in the past and history books, and there are only a handful of people still alive who even saw it happen on the news as kids. All the battles were overseas, which means all we see unless we travel to Europe is museum exhibits (if we're blessed with adults in our life who care enough to take us)... and what we're taught in school. Which at the pre-college level isn't anywhere near as much as *should* be taught, IMO. A few chapters in a book and maybe a couple video documentaries at most, whenever we get to that time period in history class. And what we ARE taught is mostly focused on the politics, geography, and military aspects. Because that's what they think is important and relevant enough to remember. Empathy of other people groups' experiences is rarely a priority for our history book authors... or probably more accurately the committees who decide school curriculum, I suspect many history authors would emphasize different things if they were allowed. Almost everything we're taught in history is designed with an America-centric perspective (or at their most "humble" listed as equals with whatever the allies there were), regardless of whether we are/were truly that important there.

There are few things that can make me be this viscerally upset with someone... I watched another video on the topic earlier this day. Growing up in Germany even before I learned about that particular part of our history I distinctly remember that my parents, who otherwise raised me to be a kind, forgiving, polite person, taught me that the one situation in which it is okay to show open disdain and make it clear that people aren't wanted around here is if I ever happen to come across neo nazis and nazi ideology BS, very much following the idea behind the tolerance paradox: The only thing a tolerant society cannot tolerate is intolerance. Later, of course, I learned about Nazi Germany and the crimes committed during this time. And that denying the crimes and specifically the Holocaust is something that at the very least makes you subject to heavy scrutiny. And for very good reason, too. And a lot of our history lessons (although history isn't the only subject at school where the Nazis and related topics were discussed) focus on the question of "How could this happen?" and "How could people fall for such ideologies/conspiracies?". And we also discussed how people today can become radicalised and what factors in one's personal life can facilitate it and what tactics neo nazis use to entice people, especially young people, to join them. And I am very, VERY glad that this was part of my regular school education. I think it is INCREDIBLY important for just about everyone and anyone to learn about it. But it is also why I am so incredibly upset with JKR for this thing in particular. I mean. I'm not even in her main targeted demographic for the BS she espouses. But somehow it feels very personally hurtful nonetheless to see someone who I previously did hold in some esteem do stuff like that, anyway. (Tbf I think I'd even feel disgusted by someone going down a path like this in any case... it's just not something I have any respect for, I wanna say.) Probably because I have been taught about all the ways in which this stuff is hurtful and harmful from a young age. And because it just feels viscerally evil to claim that these things either "didn't happen" or "weren't as bad" when you just know that these things, these CRIMES, were referred to as crimes against humanity for a very good reason and have indeed caused so much incredible and undeniable harm and suffering to so many people. There is no honour in down-playing or outright denying something like that. No dignity. No respect. No compassion. So I guess all that is left to say for me is: Screw you, JKR.

When her anti-trans journey started I was hoping all the backlash would lead her to reevaluate her stances and apologize and use her status as a "philanthropist" by actually funding trans healthcare to make up for the harm she's caused. But the harm she has caused is now so much and she's clearly getting radicalized more and more to an extreme I could've never imagined that I don't think I can honestly believe in any sort of redemption of hers anymore. The best she can do is give up her platform and stop spreading her misinformation and propaganda but we all know she's not gonna do that. It's infuriating.

Yeah, and as someone pointed out, the attack on the trans research facility and the burning of that research and a lot of other severe hatecrimes were done way before and leading up to the war. It didn't start with war but with harmful propaganda that we also see today from places like The Daily WIre, PragerU, Trump, Republicans, Rowling, Dawkins, leaders and other politicians from countries like Poland, Hungary, countries in South America, Asia, Africa. It started with priming the population into targeting minorities as the scapegoat for frustrations, just to get votes and gain control over the government and the population. And evidently that still works. People don't blame the government for leaving housing up to the free market, but immigrants. People don't think about what would actually increase safety and well being for children and push to teach them about sex and consent to protect them from abuse from friends and family, but instead focus on LGBT+ to simplify their (delusional) ideas of risks into something that has never been an issue for children. This also shows that people don't care about their children at all, and just want LGBT+ people to be targeted at the cost of their own children who will not be protected against (sexual) abuse from family members or taught how to recognise the differences between a healthy and abusive situation. None of this requires war and is going on right now, and anti-LGBT+ legislation is passed daily, globally, just to fuel and appease the frustrations of the population without solving any real problems, or caring about anyone's life or well being, not even that of their own children.

It's also less than transparent authoritarian propaganda. Fantastic Beasts 4 was probably going to reveal that Grinderwald and Dumbledore swapped consciousness during their final battle and Grinderwald and Grinderwald was redeemed by his (platonic) love of Dumbledore with a Snape like back story (some 'Muggles' kicked over his Mother's apple cart)and was 'our' Dumbledore all along while not succumbing to his 'weakness' and not all of his ideas were 'bad' or something, cue Lily and James at Hogwarts. Thanks for making this video, even though it clearly was tiring for you. I think something that gets lost in Holocaust education is that the Nazis didn't oppose Jews because they hated our religion or how we looked. We've been a perpetual, ever-morphing scapegoat for whatever evil exists in any era. Transgender acceptance? Socialism? Unusual, daring artwork? All of those things were declared "Jewish Problems" by the Nazi Party. Even today, Neo-Nazis will pass around flyers naming transgender people and pointing out how many of them are Jewish. "Transgenderism" therefor becomes "Jewish" and anything "Jewish" is "degenerate" and must be wiped out of civilization. The Nazis also considered Bolshevism, Communism, and Socialism to be "Jewish." You said it yourself - Dr. Hirschfeld was Jewish. It made him a clear target, no matter what. So while it's not incorrect to say the Nazis targeted transgender and queer people for being transgender and queer (they factually DID), they also tied it to Jewishness/racial impurity.

Very good points raised. I don't know how you feel about this and whether it makes a difference, but do you think it also depends on the kind of antisemitism and how it manifests ? For example, the nazis had a racial purity ideology wherein Jews were at the very bottom of said racial hierarchy, and thus not worthy of life. In comparison, antisemitism in France (Charles Maurras notably) stemmed from the false and conspiratorial belief Jews were responsible for the decline of the RCC's influence on society (and also the whole 'jews killed Jesus' shite(

Pretty much every holocaust museum includes the crimes against trans, and gay people. This way of using semantics to separate them out, i think is a distinction without a difference. I would also point out that the rhetoric used, often painted these as linked issues. And to me it says more that the perpetrators of the crimes were doing it because they had linked these two groups together in their antisemetic conspiracy theories.

Considering this is the same author who gave us Death Eaters who are for all intents and purposes are magic Nazis, to paraphrase Ben Grimm "This is a revolting development". From what little I read from the books and what I watched from the films. She is one of the biggest hypocrites I have ever seen. She writes stories about the acceptance of other people or beings (Half-blood wizards, House Elves, and Goblins) but she has done nothing to practice what her works preach. She is so filled with contempt and apathy for a people she does not fully understand I wonder if her written villains are as much of a projection of her personality as her heroes. Voldermort's no true Scotsman approach to who is and isn't a wizard or witch, and Umbridge's shifting loyalty changes that work for her benefit. Now with this form of Holocaust denial, it shows me that she has lost her mind at this point. There's a slim chance she'll back off, she has a tendency to double down on her criticized traits rather than improve such as further perpetuating the allegories of Goblins and House Elves to Jewish and African Americans in the Fantastic Beasts films to the point of cringing and making me wonder how civil rights groups let this crap slide. I'm glad you're bringing this up because people have to remember that Jews weren't the only victims of The Holocaust. Not mentioning the deaths of Romani, non-loyal Catholics, political prisoners such as Socialists (not National Socialism mind you) and Communists, disabled people (Autism, Dwarfism, etc.), and The LGBT+ members is just as much of a disservice to the tragedy as it is not acknowledging the six million Jews who perished under Hitler. I feel so bad for my sister and her friends who loved these books growing up and I say I can feel their pain as someone who found out people like Butch Hartman, Creator of The Fairly OddParents, and Danny Phantom, are dirtbags and how hard it is look back on those childhood creations without cringing over the fact they were partially made by horrible people. If Joane finally sinks rock-bottom with nowhere to go but up, I'm sure her ballon-up will meet the same fate as the Hindenberg.

After watching this, the real question on my mind is whether or not miss rowling knows what a fever dream is. I mean something that has REAL HISTORICAL data and information that is available is very different from "a dream you had while you were sick". seriously, the more I hear about jk rowling (I'm NOT capitalizing her name on purpose btw) the more I think "wow, this person is horrible... and she made one of the best selling children's books of the lat90's early 2000's."

I'm wondering if MSM hasn't talked about this out of a combo of not caring about trans people and fear JKR will sue them for defamation.

I presume that the principle of CYA and wanting to avoid being recipients of a defamation suit from someone known to be litigious, to have extremely deep pockets, and more than willing to fund legal attacks might have been very persuasive for some mainstream news organisations to totally ignore this story.

Whenever anyone says something like, “I would never fall for a cult,” I can just point to JK Rowling. Anyone can be manipulated into believing crazy things and become horrible people because they surround themselves with horrible people. Always keep your guard up folks and stay empathetic and humble.

There is also, especiallythe people that are so arrogant they could never,are in danger. Like there are 2 kind of responses to manipulate i can think off,make them believe you know that and believe in your words whatever that be. Or apeal to their high opinion of themselves that they never could be wrong and drip feed them stuff and make them belief its their idea, while showering them with praise. Pretty sure terfs did the later. People thst think theycant fall for stuff probably are the most vunerable with really desperate ones. The only way to really be on guard is not asdume you never fall for misinformation, cults, yada yada. People believe wrong stuff all the time, the thing you can do is check and be open to be proven wrong if its that clear. You can be wrong, and you can fall for scams. And cults. Knowing no one is immune on a bad day is the best way to dont.

YOU are beautiful. YOU are valid. And YOU are loved. I'm saddened you have to keep dealing with this. I fear it is only going to get worse until normies finally get horrified enough. And I despair thinking what that might require.

Its almost impressive that she can still get worse. And the empathetic part of me still wonders how a person can fall down this rabbithole of hate - dont get me wrong I think she is definitely irredeemable, the book series was just a thing I loved growing up and an interest me and my mom shared so a part of me still wishfully thinks that she was a normal person way back when.

Its kinda like a cult, and she isin the deepest terf circles. Ok i would compare it to a cult with a person not able to admit being wrong, and they want, probably kinda like that. And online cults exist.

I think that she's an abuse victim who coped with the abuse in the worst way possible, and doubled down on her maladaption until she became a soulless ghoul who deserves no sympathy.

Thank you for making this. I can’t imagine how painful it was to do all the leg work for it. I had no idea. I don’t have twitter and since her initial declarations of anti Trans people and TERF Redrick I have not participated in Harry Potter community. I don’t have any Harry Potter memorabilia I don’t have the books and I can’t even bring myself to watching the movies again. But I need to know this.

I feel like any interaction with her should start with posing her the question, "Do you believe you are infallible?" She seems to think she is, but I doubt that she would openly admit it. I would guess that this is probably not being covered, at least in part, because old Joey Anne loves to throw her lawyers around.

Strange that I haven‘t heard about this Marie-Luise Vollbrecht Tweet since I‘m german. Also in school we barely learn anything about other Holocaust victims. That’s a bit frustrating but our history lesson topics are already pretty full of teaching units so I kinda understand why there is no more space. Luckily I have the internet where I can learn by myself.

I have nothing more to add to the conversation, just wanted to leave a comment. Thank you for your videos, your empathy, and your topics, heavy AND light ones. And thank you for closing each video with the most touching words every time, I legit tear up a little whenever I hear them. In case it helps, just wanted to tell them back: thank you Vera, and remember that you too are beautiful, valid, and loved.

I can't help but wonder about this one comment I heard on the Jim Baker show (I only was forced to watched it because my grandaunt would watch it and unfortantly she was in the same mindset of much of the conversation here.) But it was a table talk and.... one of the things that absolutely horrified me and when I looked up to see if maybe they were twisting things (which they were).... The exact words that I remember (memory could be paraphrasing): "The Nazis were the one who were doing the gender experiments and cutting people open to do that, Why would anyone want to have that disgusting surgery happen to them?!" I can't help but wonder the reason why she thinks that whole burning Trans Medical records not be true is because she believes that it was the Nazis that created the Transgender surgery. It doesn't matter really if she does or not, but I can't help but wonder because it was something that stuck with me for YEARS (since 2017) with how disgusting I felt knowing that people think that was the thought and had me wondering how many others actually think this being the case.... Her comment had me thinking back on that quote while you talked about it.

That's an interesting point. This is SUCH a powerful line (even if it is twisting the truth and connecting two wrong things) that it can stick with someone. I don't know about rowling, but I can definitely imagine someone going down the transphobia route if they heard that.
