MrWashu12 Go to Britney Spears' cover of this song. It's not the most insulting cover I've heard (that dishonor belonging to Glee's butchering of Sweet Transvestite), but it's still pretty "blegh". It really comes off as an ego boost and a paycheck rather than a faithful rendition.
SeaWorld 2006. 4 years old. I remember before the late night Shamu show the guys working there put this song on the loudspeaker before shit went loose. Haven't bothered for 13 years to search up this song and reminisce, until now, and wow is it amazing looking back on early childhood memories. To all who were around when the song was released, y'all were lucky ass people
I'm WAY old enough to remember the 60's, and to put that in perspective, I was on an aircraft carrier during the Cuban Missile Crisis, Oct. '62, sooooo....The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and...least I forget...Motown!! We all have our favorite "decade." :)
I'm so glad my mom showed me this kind of music. She showed me stuff like The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Joan Jett, and the Beastie Boys instead of all this new completely trashy rap music. She's awesome. It's hard to believe, but I can never get sick of this song.
Trashy rap? Watch your mouth boy. I agree that rap is literally dead now, but what you listen to (Drake, Young Thug, T.I) is NOT rap. Tupac, Biggie, NWA, Nas, Nelly, The game, Eazy E, Ice Cube (1980-2005) THAT is rap. And if you think it's trashy cuz of the beat, and you don't bother about the lyrics, then you, my friend, are the reason that rap is dead.
It's almost nighttime and I'm still watching this I've watched it a thousand times every single day!!!l!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I also like your song to Joan Jett
I remember it too. You can also find older articles where is "standing" thesteveoliverblog.blogspot.com/2007/11/i-saw-him-standing-there-by-record.html?m=1 m.riverfronttimes.com/musicblog/2011/11/07/the-six-best-statutory-rock-songs www.amiright.com/real/dirtyartist/jettjoan.shtml
I was just on a youtube channel for the Mandela effect and they mentioned this inconsistency. So I came here and it's Dancing, but whoever uploaded this version spelled it wrong as well.
I love this song the first time I heard it was like two days ago when I went to Kroger and it came on and then I started to dance and sing it and now I’m addicted to this song and I lovely so much and I love it even more now that I know the lyrics to it thank you 😊
I just saw a bunch of Country music fans singing this back to Joan Jett and Carrie Underwood at the 2019 CMA Music Fest (on ABC). ...pleasantly surprising!
I didn't really listen to songs before the 80's so I won't count them. 1980's - rock god 1990's - epic songs 2000's - going down hill 2010's - crap we listen to every day
I am 15 and I LOVE ROCK N' ROLL I grew up on these music I listen to the 60's 70's 80's and 90's songs it's so much better then the music they make today.
I can never listen to this song without thinking "rocky road" instead of "rock and roll". ;~; *pulls out a shield and starts to sing* I LOVE ROCKY ROAD!
Jessie the cat :3 I didn't exactly ask if anyone cared. I simply stated what I wanted to without expecting any real feedback. So I have no care for what you or others think of my opinion~
she is great, singing those lyrics in the 80ths a real woman, how many other women were with her at that time, no-one, she was so brave for the time she lived, I think I love her and rock & roll !!
I challenged my sister to a Just Dance battle, and I chose this song. At the end, where you sit on the ground and use your leg as a guitar and start strumming it, my sister was like, "Nope, I'm out," and just strummed without her leg, not even with an air guitar. She was strumming on nothing. Meanwhile, I'm right next to her playing the actual chords on my leg. RIP my sister. I won with 5 stars.
My bus driver played this on my way to school, or on my way home , nostalgia back in third grade, I feel like I’m the only one having a marathon here, hearing all these good songs, a lot of us remember, good times😌

The amount of "I was born in the wrong generation/I wish I was born in this generation" or "This is real music" in the comments is way too damn high. How about we all just calm down and actually enjoy the music? Saying which genre of music is better than another is highly subjective anyway.
I know, but music back then has so much more meaning than it does now. Take like Bohemian Rhapsody vs. Gucci Gang. You don't even need to like rap or rock to say that BR is more meaningful.
When watching old songs on RU-vid, I always see people comment like _"like if you're watching this in 2015"_ or _"I'm only 5 years, but I love this"_ or _"music nowadays is crap"_ or _"I wish I lived back then"_ and _"(Someone) brought me here "_
So my teacher made a school rock band with some of my classmates, and me and two friends want to join there. He said we could try singing and that we are doing this song. So I wanted to listen to it again and I just remembered how much I actually love this song!
