My mom worked for her for 20 years, ive meet her many times and even lived in her house when my mom worked over night, she even paid for my elementary and highschool fees, she was extremely generous, such a kind and funny spirit, it had a big affect on our lives when she passed, everything changed. What's crazy is the week she passed she had bought us tickets to the phillipines to go home to see our family, we landed and go the news, we were so heartbroken, and sad we couldnt be there for her. I still think about her from time to time she had a big impact on me and my mom. Hope you're still as fab as ever joan
Thats the truth can you imahine if they had a show together wow the reruns would be so great right now.laughing at the thought of it.Lucy and Joan my initials lol
Joan was probably the hardest working comedian in show business.... ever. Her dedication to her craft was legendary. Countless numbers of female and male comedians learned from her and owe their careers to her. So very much missed. 😢
She was such a legend who broke so many barriers over her many years. I was fortunate enough to see one of her last stand up shows in the uk. There still to date is no other female comedian who comes close to her “close to the knuckle” humour.
I just found out about Joan Rivers and I absolutely LOVE her. She's the most hilarious person that ever walked this earth and my heart was honestly broken when I found out she passed away. She's absolutely incredible
probably because jokes these days aren’t as funny but are equally or even more offensive… and don’t have the same good humor Joan had. i would have no problem with offensive jokes if they were actually funny instead of some butthurt “comedian”s diary of All the People He Hates in the World
I never really jived with her humour when I was younger. Now as I watch it in my late thirties, it jives with me and I have come to appreciate her straight-forwardness and using the 1A as intended.
I love comedy, and especially stand up comedians. My top 3 are probably Chappelle, Louis Ck and Richard Pryor. I've been stumbling upon many of River's bits on different video compilations and she made me wanna watch more of her so after a quick search i clicked on this. After watching hundreds of specials and thousands of videos I have to say, her intro at the start of the video is the most badass intro I've probably ever seen. On to learning more about her, and from her, now..
When she called Brigitte Nielsen the “C” word, and then the look on Brigitte’s face- it almost looks rehearsed it’s so damn funny! I can’t believe she came up with that so fast. I’m sooooo stealing that line.
Joan was one of a kind. The so called ‘ ‘comediennes’ do not hold a candle to her.. Joan was the real deal. The women comics today are pathetic and unfunny
The clip with Brigitte Nielsen at the end is classic--and it shows how stupid many celebrities are. The fact is that if Joan Rivers made fun of you, SHE WAS ALSO MAKING YOU RELEVANT. Look at all the comments asking, "Who's that woman at the end talking about Sylvester Stallone?" Brigitte, you would have been so lucky if Joan had KEPT making fun of you.
One of my absolute favorite stories Joan ever told was when she took her daughter to a restaurant in Beverly Hills after her husbands suicide, she said they sat down and opened the menu and Joan said to her daughter, Melissa, “Melissa! If daddy was alive today and he saw these prices he’d kill himself all over again.” That explained everything about Joan and her sense of humor… telling the truth, for one… and taking something so tragic, and unbelievably painful and laughing at it! It takes a little bit of the sting out, it doesn’t control you.
Rarely a visit goes by with my best friend, that we don't say, "God I miss Joan Rivers!" Of all my favorite celebrities who have died, she is the only one I really miss! There was a time when I would have missed Cher just as much when she dies but she's turned into such a left-wing nut. I'm more sad of that fact than her leaving us!
I remember after Michel Jackson death they asked her how she felt cause they were neighbors she said now ii can let my kids out without worrying im still laughing at that today
She also made fun of her own mothers illness telling everyone "it's comedy". Remembering that Jackson was found innocent and completely vindicated of any wrongdoing. These kinds of jokes only further ruin the reputation of a man for which no evidence had been found, who was bullied throughout life and who was severely mistreated by the press and general public. This is an actual human being treated this way. Having said that I love this lady and she's hilarious!
TRULY THE NICEST CELEB I EVER MET.. went to her book signing.. she was so cool & spoke with every person,. She literally had to have a guy there to move people on, cause she would just have a conversation about YOU.. it was awesome.. AND... SHE TOLD ME SHE LIKED MY OUTFIT & I LOOKED “ CHIC”.. it was super cool..
Worked with her for twelve years. Hard to lose a friend. Hard to lose an income. But hardest of all is to lose the one person on earth who made you laugh the most.
MakeMakeShift, I hadn't thought of that, but the timing of the Mamby-Pamby, "I'm Offended By Oxygen" arrival was announced by her tragic (botched anesthesia, 911 call delayed) death.
Um no actually..she's been a savage from the first moment she began roasring everyone she felt like. Go check out her early stand ups...she's a hilaroius scream that brings us with her as she barrels her way thru life laughing at everyone, everything and at herself. She was wonderful!! 😄🙂
@@heidilynwolff7513 not true. I've seen the black and white appearance she did on the tonight show back in the day and they mostly consisted of the generic wife/husband material. She definitely wasn't making jokes about race and retardation back then
She was the Simon Cowell on Fashion. Not afraid to judge anyone who did not know how to dress. Simon and Joan literally would have been a good relationship. They both judge and are not afraid to judge.
At first I thought she was being vicious until they rolled out the barely out-of-high school husband of hers, who couldn't speak of word of English! I felt bad for the guy!
She worked her ass off her whole life. She was worried about being broke but gave millions away to unknown people asking for help. She would sit down, read letters, and write the checks herself. Another thing most people don't know, she was super intelligent, and well educated, coming from a family where her father was a doctor. Don't have a clue why I know all this, but she does deserve our respect
I think it's more the media that's reports it. Not that we are actually sensitive. We need to just get everyone to stop trusting them so they can go out of business. The best way is to teach all our kids. Make sure we prove it to them also. It's pretty easy to do. They literally are trying to make America out to be a bad county. When most people are just centrist and generally good people.
