It's rumoured that she is unhappy with the direction of BBC News, especially the merger of the UK & World services later in 2023 & this has lead to her final decision to leave. Good luck Joanna & thanks for the news, hope to see you somewhere else.

was my favourite very professional good interviewer stood in 4 v Derbyshire was treated badly by the BBC it seems offering her an ultimatum after all those years did right 2 take what was on offer will miss you

The merged channel is just a mess! The presentation are amateur and bland, so many technical issues and so on.

I'm not going to be happy about that, it was expected, but it's so very sad, I just cannot believe how far the BBC have fallen. I no longer live in the UK & although I could watch it if I wanted to, I wouldn't dream of it, what a load of lefty garbage!

God, what an ego. You read words from a screen. You are not a celeb or a politician. There was no need for this. Do your final broadcast as usual and don't mention it at all. That was the classy way to do it.

In the old days I might have agreed with you, but today the audience appreciate a goodbye, I did, that's why I was watching. I also thought she kept her composure very well, so whilst I understand your sentiment, I disagree.

Why insult the woman? She is a journalist with a long-time of service at the BBC. Only the most churlish would deny her a few moments to bid goodbye to viewers and colleagues. Miserable git.
