Rosie's Rainbow Fund patron, Downton Abbey actress Joanne Froggatt, wins Best Supporting Television Actress at the 2015 Golden Globe Awards. Congratulations, Jo! We're so proud of you! www.rosiesrainbowfund.co.uk
That scene, when Bates confronts her with the knowledge of what happened to her and she looks up into his eyes with her lips quivering… it’s the little nuances; like that, that made her acting great. 🥰😌
@@mcsinger7719 Indeed. I just finished watching the scene, after he’d finished talking with Ms. Hughes about what happened to his wife and he cried, being overcome with the feeling of helplessness and the deep pain of not being there to protect Anna… man-tears 😢. I cry every time. Such great acting. ❤️
So well deserved. For anyone who has seen Downton Abbey will agree that Joanne Froggatt does not acts the role of Anna Bates but lives it. There is no false note in her performance. That is the highest praise one could give to an actor.
Such emotional intelligence played in the relationship between Anna and Mr. Bates. Her supportiveness to everyone she interacts with in the Abby. (no matter what worry or disaster is transpiring in her life) makes the viewer wish she was his or her friend, I just tried to type Joanne then I doubled back and put Anna. The characters resonate that strongly with me as with everyone. Haven't seen anything that well done in two decades on a television. The hunting scenes My God. Like walking into a painting. Every shot called attention to the detail, regimen and precision that it takes to sustain the well oiled machine that was Abby life. Good direction, high EQ's and IQ's all conspire to make Downton Abby a treasure to be watched for decades to come
@@Jerry-rf8bn Julian fellowes was developing at least two shows at the same time, “Downton Abbey” and “the gilded age.” “Downton Abbey” was picked up first, and was a surprising success. Then the show got to the 4th/5th season, he was told to “wrap up” Downton Abbey, start developing “the gilded age” for production.
i dont know but everytime i hear the downtown abbey main soundtrack even in this award show makes my heart wants to burst in pride. the music theme is so iconic now
She is truly and honestly happy, and this is so heartwarming. Thank yous to the crew and cast are honest as well and you can see the expression on the face of the actress playing Edith, she is truly touched as well. Wonderful people, wonderful actors!
I've just started watching Downtown Abbey. Joanne/Anna was instantly a favorite. Not on season 4 yet but Joanna definitely deserves all the recognition
I LOVE her! This is so deserving. I came into this show super late. I just watched the whole series and the first movie. I can’t wait to watch the next one, but I also don’t want the story to end! 😩
She's my hero ❤️ I love her character she's the perfect go between upstairs and downstairs. I love how the other women are gritting their teeth pretending to listen to her. LoL
I still feel as though she’s Anna from the show, I think that she so genuinely fit that character that I don’t really see a clear distinction from Anna and Joanne witch in a way is great because the role fit her so perfectly
I just finished the second movie and totally binged on the series. Anna Bates was my favourite female character. I watched the rape episode late at night and couldn’t sleep. She played it so ‘raw’. Well deserved, congratulations.
The fact that Anna Gunn was not even nominated is bizarre...it was one of the best supporting performances of all time...but no disrespect to Joanne who was long overdue and completely deserves it..
Season 4? What took so long? Anna Smith Bates’ character is a joy to watch as part of a supremely talented cast. I think I first saw Joanne Froggatt as a police detective(?) many years ago on BBC. Can anyone confirm that?
Love Downton Abbey, then you will love C.A MacRae's Gemini Complex, The Cabal: After the final demise of the Cathars at Chateau Mount Montségur in the south of France in 1244, a heroic rescue by a Knights Templar took place. Six hundred and fifty-three years later a murder and spate of suspicious deaths of the clergy become linked in the south of France. Her world is turned upside down, Flo realises she’s not the person she’s always thought she was and to make matters worse she finds out her life is endangered. In order to make sense of who she really is and what her purpose in life is, she’s sent to Switzerland to meet others of her kind. the first book of a trilogy. It's going to be released later this year.
Joanne, you should have mentioned your Bates as well!! Would the couple storyline and that enormous success be the same if it wasn't for Brendan Coyle next to you?
focus on what she didnt do...so she looks less than? Im sure she is forgiven considering everything she was holding within and withoutin such true shock
@@mamasheloves No doubt about that, Tom! Just a bit surprised she didn´t mention him at all. But considering the stress effect it´s quite understandable, of course. She´s great and she deserved to win!
Being a hardcore fan of both Downton Abbey and Orange is the new black I believe Uzo Aduba's Crazy Eyes has much more range and a much more difficult character to play than Anna Bates of Downton.
