Maybe they lied about him to smear his good name and then tried to occupy him for eternity so he could never exact vengeance. Maybe they just created a monster capable of grinding down Mt Olympus itself one pebble at a time only using a rock.
Jocko is just a man. If one man can do it, so can another. His style, his choice of words, his past experiences is what can never be repeated. For that is why we turn to him for inspiration, wisdom and motivation. Looking forward to hearing more in the Underground. Stay disciplined.
I just completed 6 weeks recovery after neuro surgery on my spine to repair paralysis. I’ve had to learn how to walk, use my arms and hands again just like a child. I drew from this video to develop the will to get out of bed every morning to perform my rehab. NO COMPLACENCY WHAT SO OVER. The patients on a neuro surgery recovery ward are incredibly tough. Their goal is just to survive and possibly regain some measure of mobility to improve their quality of life. The rehab is extremely physically painful and mentally exhausting. Thank you Jocko and Echo for providing these videos on discipline and commitment. Its helped me through some dark times after my surgery. I have an uphill road ahead. It’s time to dig in and get to pushing!
I'm 53 years old and starting my 6th year as a professional painter. This man inspires me every day to work at my craft, to learn new things, to push each new painting up that hill to see what I can learn from the journey and expand my skill set for the next one. Each piece starts with a blank piece of canvas; where it goes from there is up to me. Thank you, Jocko.

I am a relative noob to the Jocko Podcast, and I must admit that I kind of wondered who Echo Charles was and why he was part of the whole gig ... but having seen this video and his "Good" video, I think it's because he is the perfect counterpoint and support to Jocko in many ways ... e.g., Echo's lack of verbal articulateness and input on the show is more than compensated for with his proficiency in speaking this visual language that actually intensifies what Jocko is saying. Very talented and cool duo. Glad I found them.
Excellent msg and really well done. I'm 61 and working out for the first time in years and am not even physically able to do alot. But let me tell ya it feels GOOD to get whatever I can get. And it makes me want to do more each day. Aside from all the benefits Jocko gets from being strong and in shape...that workout and working hard is who he is, its his culture. Some days I dont 'feel it' but I do it anyway. Thanks to this man right here. Can't change the past but can decide my here and now. Clock's tickin
Life isn't about the destination, that destination is death. It is the end we will all come to one day. Written in stone. Life is about the journey. Why would you leave the rock at the top? That is stagnation, that is cancer to life. People think the journey being what it is really about to be terrifying, void of accomplishments, but really the journey is an accomplishment every step of the way. It is in fact a never-ending series of accomplishments until the destination is reached.
Downloaded this and it is now my alarmclock and i am going to listen this thing every damn day and work my ass off until i get my life together. Thank you Jocko.

A couple of weeks ago I got the promotion I worked for 2 years. Not a single day went by without me watching Jocko videos and hearing the podcast. Jocko and Ecko, if by any chance you read this, THANK YOU, I just hope one day I have the opportunity to say it personally.
...wake up call at 0430, taking my shoes, my vest and my training mask and fighting the street every single kilometer!! The test of the day ...every single day. Great work! I just found the podcast about a month ago, started at #1 and I'm working my way through. I have believed in embracing the darkness and knowing it for years now, it fuels you and also allows you to really appreciate the beauty that surrounds us all everyday. The beauty that many of us look past. Love the videos and the books also, just finished "Way of the Warrior Kid" with my 7 year old and we pre ordered "Marc's Mission" burned through D=F in 2 days and I'm working on Extreme Ownership. Keep up the good work! Jocko while at times I'm sure you may feel like you may not have as much influence on the world now as you did as a Seal, I assure you, you are positively influencing and changing tens of thousands of lives every week right now. Thank you for what you are sharing, thank you for going every week to that dark place that many don't have the fortitude to venture to while bringing all of us "troopers" along, and last but definitely not least, thank you for your service to this country.
Creating art like this is a grind and a struggle in and of itself, and it takes time and effort. This video is of excellent quality, and I hope it helps people understand why Echo's craft sometimes takes time. Sometimes!
Playing to play... is life. Everyday is more of the same... getting stronger or becoming weaker. Getting smarter or acting out of ignorance. Getting better or accepting stagnation. The dopamine rewards of the grind are real rewards. Illusionary abstractions and fluctuating opinions of others are temporary vices.
There hasn't been a speech more compelling since Alexander's Opus Mutiny. I can taste the grit, feel the pressure. Hell, I am nearly getting sweat by listening to this. If one is in need of a Man Talk, this is it.

Thank you Jocko Willink, your words have more value than any amount of money, I say to myself anytime a problem or obstacle arises "good" time to learn time to grow remember Jocko.
If I ever got the rock to the top of a mountain and it stayed there... *I'd push it back down myself.* Damn, I got the chill down my spine everytime I hear that line.

I literally have listened to this more times than I could estimate...during my workouts..actually deadlifting and squatting..if you looped this for 2 hours it would be awesome. Js.
