Duncan offered me a flight in the Jodel D18, which I happily accepted.
G-WIBB is owned by Chris (who I flew to Duxford a few weeks back)
I am not a qualified flying instructor nor do I ever claim to be a very good pilot. I fly for fun and basically record for my own interest and review but upload because a number of people have asked me to. I do try to edit for enjoyment and story telling and this means that some content is not always included.

I flew in this aeroplane out of Little Staughton when it was briefly owned by Denny Dobson, I remember it as being a lovely little machine, very light on the controls and smooth to fly.

Hello, my friend has a Jodel D18 but with a Rotax engine, and it's also an ultralight plane, perfect to land on the moutain small strips. I'm often a pax.

I had a flight with John Wibberly in this plane years ago and the plane performed perfectly. My Subaru EA 81 on G -BWVC blew up but luckily I was just doing ground testing . It seems that a gasket in the water system was left out when I had the engine overhauled. Regards, Jim in NI

By the way one can buy Baseball caps with a hard shell liner which are useful in protecting one's noggin when it gets bumpy. Regards, Jim in NI

I enjoyed this video very much . A lovely little aeroplane , and what great performance from a 50hp engine . The EA81 is a very popular motor here in Australia , the Gyro pilots like them particularly . Thanks Tim for sharing . I’ll be back in Blighty this September , and looking forward to it .

I very nearly abandoned my habit of always watching your video first on a Friday to watch Plane Savers. Glad I didn’t, but in my defence Mikey McBryan has shared so many awesome videos this week that it made it a tough call. Well worth a watch...

I wouldn't be upset. Mikey is doing a grand job documenting the work on a daily basis. I saw the Flight Chops video where Mikey was showing how he is recording as the day progresses. Sometimes hard enough doing a weekly one.

I always think that flying in a small Jodel is akin to sleeping in a hammock as opposed to sleeping in a four poster when in a C152. Regards, Jim in NI

@@JodelFlyer I think you got the wrong idea I was trying to explain that because of it's lightness a Jodel tends to move around a bit unlike a heavier aircraft with it's increased wing loading. I guess that my being older than you guys makes my English seem strange. Regards, Jim in NI

That looks like a nice 1.8 seater. It is often interesting to see your observations of the geography. It must be a bonus part of flying to get aerial views of various features and changes going on in the community. From above we can really see why places are where they are and why landmarks are the shape they are. For me (if I flew) the whole "Meteorology in action" would be my 'oh look at that' moment, being a graduate in that sort of thing.

It was an interesting flight and the D18 performed well at nearly max auw, I think it really brings learning alive when you can see it from above and I used to use it a lot while I was teaching.
