Considering that Jodie is calling herself a "bit of a wimp" it is all the more stunning how persuasive her performance of Villanelle is. Outstanding acting talent.
Jodie is so lovely. That's probably why, we, as fans are obsessed with Villanelle. Impossible to dislike such a sweetheart, even when she's playing an insane killer. She's bloody adorable (:
@@thegossipswan009 Very true. When I'm watching Jodie I'm feeling her kindness and her adorable personality and when I'm watching Villanelle I'm feeling her badassdom and her psychotic nature. There's a huge gap between Jodie and Villanelle and both couldn't be more different from each other. Jodie crushes me with her whole being while Villanelle would probably crush my bones if I stared at her for too long :D Personally I'm making a distinction though. Jodie *is* Villanelle for me but Villanelle *is not* Jodie if you know what I mean. I adore Jodie because she is just hot and her accent is driving me wild. I like Villanelle because she is a strong female character who keeps breaking the rules again and again. And her twisted chemistry with Eve is the real deal. Seems like I'm starting to swoon over Jodie too much. As usual. Don't even want to stop talking about her (: Good to know that I'm not the only one with an obsession 💣
As different as they are, Jess, there is some crossover: they both have an impish sense of humour, great vitality, a vast array of facial expressions and a hint of vulnerability.
Hope she gets the recognition she deserves in season 2. Cause she was snubbed in the first, and as much as I love Sandra, Jodie's performance is the real highlight of the show.
nah, they're both fantastically done and honestly i'm tired of people acting as if one performance is better than the other. they're two entirely different characters with entirely different motivations so comparing them is like comparing apples and oranges.
Truth. Villanelle IS the show honestly. Along with Konstantin but he's gone now. Eve is only OK for me and Eve's sidekicks are actually irritating. The dynamics between Villanelle and those two other assassins she worked with was really good too, same with her prison group dynamics
Hi! I don't know you, but I have to say that the Liverpudlian accent is one of my favorite accents! One of my good friends is from Liverpool, and the cadence and rhythm of his & most other Liverpudlian accents is lovely! I'm an American, if you can't tell by my love of accents lol 🤗
She does seem like a totally different person without the Russian accent . I love her but I love her Russian accent better. Don't hate me for saying that.
When I first saw her on killing eve and looking up her interviews it def surprised me too. He American and Russian accents are all spot on. Just goes to show how amazing her acting is.
Jodie has to be one of the most remarkable actors around. I'd seen her in White Princess a year ago, which I liked. Then, about 30 minutes into Killing Eve I decided to see what else this actor had done. I couldn't believe it was the same person! What a talent.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate how incredible of an actress she is. I can’t even look at her without assuming she’s an evil psychopath. She is one of the greats, I swear. I’ve never seen someone so fully flesh out a supposedly flat character and make her feel so real. I can’t get over it.
Jodie is an amazing and rapidly rising British actress. I saw her in the BBC series 13 and I thought that she was a Bristolian and never once thought she would have a Liverpudlian accent! Great lady and I'm currently watching Killing Eve which is fantastic. Look forward to seeing her in more series.
Not only is she stunning, but her acting ability is so amazing! She was great in "Thirteen", "Remember Me", "The White Princess" have not yet seen "My Fat Diary". Love her accent! Has the most expressive eyes!
I think it's a measure of her talent as an actress that you can never quite stop seeing Villanelle's unsettling gaze behind her eyes . . . Wonderful lady.
Ya'll who think Jodie is the entire show of Killing Eve is ****ing wrong. Jodie is incredible and no need to disrespect what Sandra brings. Without both Eve and Villanelle, there is no show.
Fiona Shaw, Sandra Oh and Kim Bodnia are outstanding actors too, if Jodie Comer wasn't in the show we'd be singing their praises but she is just too good at this. She must be one of if not the best actor of all time in my opinion.
Yes - playing an underwritten role as the husband-stealing 'other woman', in a series that was mainly a showcase for Suranne Jones's pyrotechnics, she still shone through (not a hint that she could do anything as brilliant as Villanelle though!).
i dream of seeing her in a dramatic feature film in a leading role! something which will get her an oscar nom at least. she's gotta get more recognition!!!
Yep she has the looks and the beautiful model figure. Jodie can wear anything. She puts most of the professional model's you see today on the catwalk, litteral to shame.
Soundtracks of all 3 seasons have been amazing. I want all of them. Villanelle has a heart despite what she does for a living. She's a dichotomy and one can never read her inner landscape amidst her amusing or sinister antics and even those seem to be on some other level that we are not all privy to. But she does want to belong somehow. She's a warrior for some sacred expanse that lives inside her that she herself cannot define. It's her spontaneity that is the most refreshing and surprising.
I am from Liverpool and get mistaken for Eastern European all the time. I am thrilled when I see glimpses of a dosy art student type in Killing Eve. That is so well observed its genius. I hated her middle class character in Doctor Foster. She is my favorite actress now.
7th April. Let's go... I want to hug her soooo Bad. I just finished the series "thirteen" where she also Played in and it was amazing now I watch "the white Princess" until 7th April
What the 'elle happened to the background at 2:10? The editor copied that top right window panel to cover the reflection but forgot and messed up. Great video though, love Jodie!
Watched the whole of season 1 in one night' amazing show and such an actress..... now I am deciding if I will watch the season 2 episodes now or save them up for another binge night
