Keith, I saw her in Phoenix AZ in the late 80's and again in Chicago in the early 90's. It took her over 30 years to become an "overnight sensation!" I loved her guitar skills from the first time I saw her!!
@@Highstranger951 Much of that is her very unique style. She fluidly moves up and down the neck to get notes that most folks wouldn't try for, very risky playing. So some stuff comes in a millisecond later than expected, but it's stuff nobody else would go for.
And they had Reese. I was watching Joanna's BBQ jam and thinking it would be cool if Joe would jam with her then saw this and has Kingfish. Epic lineup
Sorry, but Joanna is a one trick pony, surprised the novelty has not worn off to be 100% honest. Every solo is the same, some inaudible bending, dive bomb, more inaudible bending etc Rinse, Repeat.
This is a trifecta of awesomeness!!! I almost stopped breathing when i saw all 3 names together. Joanna had some huge shoes to fill following kingfish and she did it well with that mean face. Nothing needs to be said about Joe he is in a class all his own.
This is one of the kind of breaks of recognition that Joanna Conner is needing. She has been relatively unknown except in smaller circles around the Chicago area' and this will give her some well-deserved exposure on stage with the likes of Joe and Kingfish.
Match? Kingfish destroyed him. Joe is a competent blues guitarist, bu he rarely takes any risks. He's makes nice, safe predictable blues and blues-rock for the mass market. He's great, but in the same kind of way pop stars are great. He makes blues more digestable.
Love love love love love love, it and you guys, thanks for a good jam, nice , this is going to be the new normal, don’t get mad at me, but I’m saying we going to havto get used to this on the RU-vid’s and FBs instas,Twitters, it going to be this way for years, if not they you and I joy it then , I love love love this RU-vid concerts, and joe and Paul and others are amazing, and you are amazing for filming it, you might be in real big demand in the future, lolol thanks BigAl California.
All the guitars are in their own class! Paul Schaefer truly amazes me though! This funny little man just shows up everywhere and is always fun to watch!
The Paul Shaffer band was the first band I seen back in 1966. He backed up the Animals in his hometown of Thunder Bay Ontario Canada. I was 10 years old and the rest is history lol :-) Peace
THis is it!! The curise to the Bahamas! AWESOME I have a pic of you and me Joanna Connor right before you got on stage SWEET Just watched your new viedo WOW you changed but your music is the same GREAT I love it
Great talent- all - and Joe sounds beautiful and has a great feel and pays tribute to each of those he showcases with his own solo. Joanna is incredible and supportive of all on stage and Kingfish too Awesome musicianship
As a music nerd, Kingfish's solos (an his rhythm work, and arrangements too for that matter) are so much more complex than Bonamassa's, that it really impresses me that Joe has the humility to play with him. Heck, Connor's solos are also always so much more dangerous that Joe's too (she's a risk taker - where as he's mr slick) it is a credit to him that he knows there is room on his stage for these other, different and arguably more versatile players.
@@calbassas87 what do you mean? He's not flashy. He's a journeyman. Plays straight and simple, keeps everything easy to follow. Do you mean because he dresses well?
Seems like Joanna was caught a bit off guard as these jams tend to be tricky as to who plays next, still she nails her part down but on her really good days which are always she would take them all to school. The point here is they had a blast . Joanna shoulda brought her best friend , that 59 Les Paul she's killed so many with.
One of the attributes I respect about Joe Bonamassa is that he highlights other players in the gig and doesn't hog the limelight all to himself. I love Joanna Connor, but I think she would have been better without the slide in this particular song.
