I definitely agree. That's one of the best calls of all time imo, and certainly one of my favorite calls ever. He generally does a good job making his call, and then going silent to let the crowd and the moment speak for itself. Some examples that come to mind of that are when the Phillies won the WS, when the Cubs won in 2016, and in the Minneapolis Miracle.

Tyree caught and first down. He is so boring and unexcited for most plays. When the nationals won the World Series he didn’t even talk about the accomplishment just went silent for minutes. He is god awful and only have a job because his father was a legend.

(Birds fan here) What I find so funny about Mitchell is that if Mitchell takes it to the house, I have a feeling we may all be like “that call was awesome because, it was all Mitchell, just like that play” But I do like that it’s a running gag just like “touchdown no flags”

Yeah, I kinda felt bad while making it, but he had some great calls in that NFC Championship game (and the other plays). I made sure to put both Cobb TD's and Nick Collins' Super Bowl XLV pick 6 to make up for it haha.

Dude! Same! I find Summerall much more boring than Buck, to be honest. At least Buck can turn on the emotional jets when he feels the situation calls for it.

@@christmashake8968 until 2011 I was one of those people. After, Joe really stepped up and uprgraded his calls. But some people hate for the heck of it, or for his preferences when it comes to sports on tv Cut him some slack, he works with sports on tv, he neither has time nor wants to watch what he does 24-7. He already does quite something being a season ticket holder for the Blues

Nostalgia from people that probably either never saw Summerall announce a game, or only when they were kids in order to seem cultured. Summerall today would be blasted for being super boring with his commentary. In a way I'm glad he went out before the digital age, or someone of his stature would be buried by the peanut gallery in this era like Buck as been. Personally I thought Summerall was fine, just not great.

Buck has been solid. Does a great job. He doesn't do too much just enough.

I agree. As an Eagles fan myself, that play by Robinson will forever be ingrained into my mind. However, I decided to not include it here because of Fox's audio glitch shortly after the snap, and also because Buck didnt get too excited when he said "for the touchdown." In hindsight, I probably should have put it in.

@@MattCProductions_ For me, why it’s a great call, is the initial “Keenum throws, HE’S PIIICKED!” And then he kind of let the crowd do most of the work. Less was more. But I think we just know for years Buck sounded bored with Philly (2008 WS) but I gotta say he’s warmed up to me a LITTLE in recent years. He also didn’t ruin the call by ending with “touchdown no flags”
