Even as a khabib fan that bothered me, I believe Khabib is the GOAT for reasons other people wouldn't care about. But if you consider just resume alone and that tends to be the biggest thing people consider in this subjective debate, GSP is at least number 2 and Jones would be number 1.
Losing to John Jones has got to be one of the worst feelings ever. Because when you fight him, your at your best, and he'll smash you with ease at his worst.
Totally disagree about this vid. Even though I like the guy because he's trying to do good. His legacy will always be tarnished with cheating, dirty tactics and behaviour outside of the ring. You can never be goat with those hanging over you. FACTS 👍
I used to spar with Anthony Pettis way back in the day before he was even close to good. I quit following ufc for a while and saw him in there like wtf is he doing there!!! I'm not hating amd good for him but I actually didn't like him then and don't like him now. What is mighty like?
I love when he talks about Cormier… i used to eat dinner with Daniel all the time at the athletes dorm at Oklahoma St. Daniel came to a lot of my baseball games and gladly gave up his extra meal credits since he was always cutting weight lol! Great guy and he ended up being even more famous and he was already on top of his sport in College
I was a huge Jon Jones fan for years before I heard about DC leading up to his move to UFC. Now I'm a bigger fan of DC than Jon overall. DC is the coolest guy with a big heart. And one of the best ever
Tell the truth, you bullied DC and stole his lunch, daily. You knew exactly what you were doing when you came from LA. Poor Daniel didn’t stand a chance. 😢
Alright alright I believed everything you were saying until the part about him giving up his meal credits. Try to do a little more research on DC before you make up stories 😉
I think what the guest was trying to highlight, was the fact that he might have came off as the villain because of the PR around him being the champ. I know of the allegations of PEDs and all that, but Jones has been busted more than Usman so I'd imagine its just rumours more than anything.
The only opponent to beat Jon was Jon. Joe summed it up He's a bad guy trying to be a good guy. Jon's physicality, skills and mindset can't be debated he has to kill his demons
@@jayjacob6855Joe Rogan does his own thing dumb a**. The man owns the biggest podcast in the world. He’s saying what we all know. Jon is the greatest fighter ever. Not George. I know you hate it but it is what it is. Gsp isn’t the goat. Get over it.
I thought Jon Jones was the greatest ever anyway. When you look at who he's beaten and how young he was through a lot of his career it's just insane. He's only really looked troubled in a few fights and his one loss was purely down to a horrific refereeing decision. However, I think the only way he kills the debate is if he beats Stipe. I would also say Ngannou should also have been on his hit-list, but it's not going to happen, which sucks.
The Jon Jones fight when he choked out Lyoto Machida was the craziest thing I ever saw. I couldn’t believe at the time you could do that to someone standing up. Jones is the goat 🐐
He looks different than from his early knockouts he had no fear but now his legs are bad and Jon is known to fuck up legs too so it’s just going to be real hard to over come when someone has something with range that can take u out the game
🤣 🤦♂️ you ever see a turtle on its back all the heavy weights got nothing on the ground why do you think Jon moved up easy fights give him khamzat I bet you that guy would give him a fight but the UFC’s light heavy weight and heavy weight there’s nothing special about any of them they just brawl Jones n dc where the only 2 that wrestled
Jon would dismantle Francis. All you have to do is avoid those bombs from Francis for a couple rounds, then he’ll be out of gas and slow down. Then you can take him to the ground and finish him.
@Max It was a car accident. You're making it seem like he intentionally rammed a pregnant woman. And there is no proof that he beat his wide, he was never convicted.
I wish I have someone in my life like Joe talks about Jon. Well people who wondering if I accomplished something well I am chef, train grappling and volunteer for food bank and soup kitchen.
@@ireviewdopesht7216 nah he just a goofy villian he tries to do trashtalk but always fails, he footstomps you like a lil b and he has used steroids without beeing busted
I'm not an MMA fan, but I watch all of Jon's fights. He is UNBELIEVABLE. You have to be crazy to step in the ring with him. Stipe better be ready. I think Jon will take him out too. God bless them both. 🙏
Yea, there's all kinds of talk for the years (lol) in between his fights, but sure enough when he steps back in the octagon everyone is quickly reminded how good he actually is
@@jakekunz5168cmon jake what’re you talking about 😂… he said he’s a casual fan while STATING he watched all his fights, therefore never saw him him lose a fight, he got disqualified but beat the shit out of him. Therefore, why in the fuck do you think he assumes someone he sees only win would win again ….. and what the fuck did his comment have to do with Tom Brady ….. use your head kid
@@RNTV yeah remember Jon is the guy that hid under a octagon for hours and pissed in his pants to get away from a USADA drug test. Can’t support a “goat” that failed the most drug tests in the UFC.
@@RNTV the rule change that i believe youre referring to is actually for whats coming with fight pass and bjj the ufc is currently being rivaled by One Championship as its growing larger on a global scale not just an american scale in an attempt to combat Ones growth the ufc is attempting to overtake flograppling as the main host of bjj events which are known notoriously for athletes being on gear but cute little just throw out the first thing that pops into your head take though
Demetrius was the true stylebender, Jon inspires fear and violence with his style whereas DJ instills awe and beauty. Jon is more awkward but he's just faced harder competition and always found a way to win
Since DJ ain't here, Jones is the only guy in his prime and beating top contenders in the biggest organisation for the old fans of MMA to this day so he got that nostalgia factor to root for.
Imma be real with you, I watched the fight live wanting Jones to win but I thought there was no way. I knew a knockout/submission would happen but I thought Ciryl would’ve been the one to do it. Broke my expectations in the best way. I thought jones might be washed but turns out I didn’t have faith in the GOAT
@polyseed12 along with Usman,Anderson Silva, GSP, Daniel Cormier, khabib and Stipe lol I mean I get it he's trying to promote the fights a little but come on now
@Silk Sonic 15-0 in title fight And you tell me that jon escaping a fight made by ufc? Stop it just name one fighter in mma who can make 15-0 in title fight i wait
I'm not even a hater but Jon Jones has made a career off of fighting guys that would be at 170lb weight class nowadays whenever he fought someone with a similar frame he struggled and if Gane had an ounce of wrestling that would of been a long day for Jones he looked very stiff and very slow I'm not sure why everyone is just looking past that.
They’ve been saying this for years, Jon is the goat, who is above him? Only ppl u could argue are khabib and gsp, and Jon imo and many others is better, I lit predicted that he would beat gane fairly easily and his entire career has made him the goat not just one fight
I admire Jon’s ability as well as Khabib’s ability and character. Full disclosure, I’m a GSP guy. To me Khabib was truly a welterweight. He missed weight at 55 several times as a pro and he seems to walk around every bit as heavy as GSP. I respect his early retirement. He made a commitment and has stuck to it. I don’t believe he says he is the GOAT but lots of other people do. To me the GOAT should try for gold in another division especially the division he should already be in.
Someone educate me, why doesn't Joe ever talk about Randy Couture? not trying to say he deserves GOAT status but what he did at his age was downright amazing. I listen to a lot of Joe Rogan podcasts in my life and I always wondered why I never hear him talk about Randy.
He has talked about him in his old episodes, your gonna have to rewind somewhere around 300-600, I don’t remember which episodes cause it’s a while back.
Joe has his patter about Jones and Silva, and never mentions GSP as the GOAT either. Literally never. To me GSP or Cormier are the clean GOATs, and Jon is undeniably the Dirty GOAT.
Gsp is the goat...he crushed his only 2 loss, cleaned his division 2 times...retired came back 1 divison higher won the belt. All of that without being suspended for steroids or hitting pregnant woman in cars or multiple other arrrest. He is the ultimate role model!!!
What would have settled the GOAT debate was if UFC made Anderson Silva fought both GSP (GSP wasn't willing to move up in weight to fight Anderson) and Jon Jones right after Jon finished Machida with that nasty guillotine choke. This would have been a few months after Anderson front kicked Vitor in the face (changed everyone's thinking of the front kick in mma) knocked him out silly then finished Yushin Okami. So it would have been a perfect time. GSP was boring and I feel like you should be able to finish your opponents to be considered p4p.
Jon Jones, DJ and GSP are the only guys who can be in the GOAT convo IMO. Anderson's skillset and resume don't compare to these guys, even Aldo is far superior to Anderson in this regard.
It’s crazy how disrespected Anderson is, he’s the most skilled of them all and has shown the best longevity by a god damn country mile 😂 The real list imo is 1. JJ 2. Fedor 3. Silva 4.GSP 5. MM Then you got the rest of the pack Jose Aldo does not have a better resume than Anderson, Anderson stopping Henderson in 2 rounds is better than almost anything Jose has done just for starters, and Jose was one of my heroes.
No one is moving UP weight classes and not getting mauled to death by bones. Esp at that time, that was his prime. On top of being ridiculously skilled he was a really big 205'er. Love silva & would not of wanted to watch that. Would've ended with Jon on top of him reigning down the most cringe inducing sharp elbows ever.
@@silkyjohnson3785 First off that wasnt Anderson. That was Johnny Hendricks and GSP trying to force him to do both USADA and VADA testing. GSPs excuse was always "if I fight at 185 pounds it'll be permanent so I'm not ready to fight there yet". When asked about Anderson Silva. You also are acting like GSP was a clean fighter which he could have easily not been when drug testing was a joke in that era.
I like Joe's confidence. With the same confidence he said Ronda would whoop her male counterparts and that she would beat up Floyd. His confidence is admirable though.
It's true that Khabib is one of the if not the most dominant ever, but it is not true that he is one of the greatest! Why? Because of his lack of resumè!
What made him so great is he never took any noticeable damage. He always came out looking like he went in and doing it in the best division in the UFC.
Jon had better comp and GSP was in pre usada era beating guys on juice just like Jon was. If you beat a trained fighter on roids, chances are, you are on roids too. There is no goat of mma if everyone is on something.
@@themadman6667 - give me a break , GSP offered not only to pay for private testing for himself but also for Hendricks , comparing doping to bringing a knife into the ring . Hendricks' career went into the gutter after usada , but GSP came back to crush Bisping . Some people have always done it right and obviously some people are still gaming .
@@themadman6667 GSP was the guy asking for USADA and not getting it and volunteering for it before UFC brought them in. He was a natural competing among cheats.
Look up gsp juicing videos. Jon jones the goat keep coping loser. Fym “sorry joe you are wrong” he’s never seeing this and he already said jones the undeniable goat
Amount in his body doesn’t give him any advantage. With the new USADA rules the amount he has wouldn’t disqualify him from anything cuz of the amount he has
I think Luke is slightly right about Kamaru in the sense that we all loved his reaction when he beat Woodley for the title & he was emotional, celebrating with his daughter.. But over time a lot of fans defintely developed a disdain for him..
I do get what you are saying, jon and mike have a viciousness about their opponents, where you feel like they genuinely want to hurt them, and GSP is more of a sport-s mentality kind of person. I would argue that when the cage door closes they have a more similar mindset then outside of the cage preparing mentally for a fight. You better believe GSP wants to hurt you when he "switches it on" before a fight, and neither jon or mike want you to die in the ring so they are similar in that way too.
@@kichmadev Thats why GSP is a straight up T1000. If he ever moved up to fight someone like Jon, he'd definitely give him a challenge he'll never forget.
Jon Jones whoops everyone in human history in a 1 on 1 hand to hand fight to the death. Those gladiators and vikings had no knowledge on MMA (the most effective fight technique by a huge margin) and today's MMA fighters are nowhere near as smart as Jon.
Umm NO. There's a weight class for a reason. Some of them Vikings would make Jones look like a midget. Maybe make your point without being so hyperbolic.
@@peptalk7658 you think the Vikings running around 1000 years ago were pushing 250+ lbs with no knowledge of nutrition and less readily available food? interesting take. Not to mention that the average viking was 2-3 inches shorter than the average male nowadays....
Absolutely not. There has been over 100 billion people in history. Theres easily over 1,000 people throughout history that would absolutely ragdoll Jon. Monsters in every sense of the word.
It's a real shame we never got to see Jones vs Johnson. It seemed like they were heading towards a collision, but it never happened. Now it never will.
@@xensonar9652 what? Is Jones fighting Brendan Schaub next? SHIT….so much for being undefeated. Oh well it was fun while it lasted but there’s always someone tougher.
To be fair, we should either use the subjective scoring method (performance in the ring, the PED history, etc.) Or the objective scoring (28-1 vs 29-0, number of rounds lost, etc). We can't pick and chose between the two in order to make one fighter better or worse than the other. Taking either path leads to Jones losing to Khabib.
@Gerald Tone move the goalposts. If goalposts is metaphorical for the apponents Jon faced, then yes, they will probably find another apponent. If you're implying he gets favors/special treatment, I have some tissue for your bitch tears!
I mean if you weren't disqualifying him for steroids before this then how was he not already your GOAT? And how does beating Gane change that? GSP=GOAT Jones=CHEETAH
Jones=the man Daniel D wishes he was Daniel D=lil boy raised in a single mother household that stopped breastfeeding @ 12yrs old and is now a female boy...
Jon has fought the baddest men that fought in the ufc - same with Mighty Mouse baby goat. Well said Joe! These people needs to watch jon jones greatest hits
I really don't understand why people are treating this last fight as such a huge deal. I had no doubt in my mind Jones stomps out Gane. I don't even have any issues with Gane, I think he's good, I think he's even better than good, hes a great fighter especially for the movement he's got at heavyweight. All that being said , Jones is such a wild card, he's not that old as some people are saying, and him moving up to heavy only meant one thing to me. More power, more weight to throw around, on that same agile and unorthodox frame of movement
Why don't you pick a better more well-rounded opponent to make this declaration off. To me Jon Jones is the same fighter after this fight as he was before.
@Jaden They certainly always move the goal post. There are multiple 250 pound athletes that couldn't stop gane. Jon does it in 2 minutes, and now gane was an "easy" opponent. If it was easy it was because jon made it easy.
My guy, if you wanna argue against his goat status based on ped use.. we can argue that.. but that's the only legitimate argument against Jon Jones being the Greatest fighter to ever live.. It may have even been arguable before Gane , but in my opinion, even then he had it.. Ciryl gane was touted as the future.. the new age heavyweight. Supposed to be the worst matchup for Jon outside Francis.. at least half the community had ciryl winning.. then Jon ran through him and all of a sudden it's not Jon is great. It's Gane isn't great.. You guys blow me with that. I do respect your take on stipe. I always stipe is Jon's toughest fight at heavyweight. Assuming stipe is healthy and in his prime still.... But when Jon beat Cyril Gane, a highly touted, futuristic heavyweight that held an interim title and went five close rounds with the most dangerous puncher in MMA, that clinched the greatest argument for me. Even if stipe flatlines Jon Jones, Jon will still be the overall goat of the sport.. if stipe beats Jon he will be the greatest heavyweight to ever live.. but for overall p4p the only logical choice is Jon Jones unless you wanna argue failed drug test.
@@HeroicEvil13 I agree; Jones is one of a kind fighter. But that fight was a pretty easy fight for a fighter of his caliber and experience. The Goat should go against the best otherwise it's just child's play.
I'm totally with ya about Usman being a villain. He almost seems fake to me for some reason, and I just can't root for the guy, but I totally love what he's done for the sport. I will never forgive him for Starching My man Gamebred Masvidal. He didn't have to ruin his career like that.
@@jonv1776 come on man, Jon did look all little awkward.. the thing is Jon being awkward and covered in ring rust is still likely the greatest fighter to ever live..
Gane is beast hes unbeatable even francis can't finish him thats why hes rank number 1 and interem champion he can beat all roster in the ufc from flyweight to heavyweight except jones so it not easy fight against him but jones is the goat and hes show why hes the goat in that fight he finish the guy who never been finish before and made it look easy
GSP is the real GOAT, he carried himself well inside and out of the ring. Went through a period of the best fighters we have ever seen in a division twice. Came back and won the belt in a higher weight class and all without using PEDs. Jon is an amazing fighter and that is what’s so frustrating!!! He didn’t need them to be good.
Johnny Hendricks lost 2 decisions vs GSP where he really won both.. Jones has the controversial decision win against Santos and Reyes.. but GsP got knocked out.. when can you say Jon Jones has? Jon Jones has the most title fight wins..he's never truly lost except by DQ.. GSP is great but not as great as Jon Jones
@@marc-etiennemercier6584 lol the only criteria? I guess you just missed that part I mentioned about Jon Jones having the most title fight wins... That 15-0 stands above everyone else.. khabib isn't even on the list with his 4-0 title fights. Most title fights.. whose the guy that won as champion the most? Jon Jones.. best of all time certainly the greatest champion of all time. Undeniable.
I still think Silva as the greatest at this moment. He beat everyone on their prime in a way people have never seen. 1. Anderson Silva 2. Jon Jones 3. GSP 4. Khalabib (as Joey Diaz said)
