Joe Esposito tells 2 very different stories about Elvis' death. In one, he says he found Elvis lying unconscious on the bed. In the other, he says he found Elvis lying face-down in the bathroom. Joe Esposito was a member of "The Memphis Mafia," a term used to describe Elvis' close circle of friends.

Joe was honouring Elvis’ dignity. That is all. He loved Elvis, no one can argue with Joes loyalty

Maybe Joe lied in his first story because he didn’t want to say that Elvis had died on the toilet. Saying that he died in bed was a much more dignified story. But eventually the real story got out…creepy as it was.

Of course he wanted to save Elvis's dignity. Who wouldn't want to do that for someone they loved. Cruel people to this day make fun of the way Elvis died. Shameful.

Many of the guys in the house said he was in the bathroom. His earlier story was understandable. He wanted to save Elvis' dignity.

We all want to believe he is still living.. i wanted too.. my only thing is with his face buried in the caroet..why didnt his girlfriend or the first guy that went up didnt turn his head or body away from the carpet.. i understand that he was gone for a few hours but still dont make sence why they didnt turn him over. I just got so many questions still. I WAS 5YRS OLD SITTING ON MY GRAMS COUCH WATCHING THE WHITE HEARSE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD.. BEEN A HUGE FAN EVER SINCE. IM 52 AND LUSTEN TO HIS INTERVIEWS OR MOVIES TO FALL ASLEEP. RWG KING...

Joe was Parker's guy. He was loyal to the colonel first.

@yumorules Clearly written by someone who's listened to a couple of interviews by certain members of The Memphis Mafia and maybe read a book or two by the same people and believed all the sh*t they've thrown into the ether without doing one bit of research and corroboration to find out whether or not they were telling you the truth. Here's all the VERIFIED FACTS for you. Joe Esposito was Elvis Presley's Road Manager, Right Hand Man and Foreman to The Memphis Mafia. It is well known that Elvis Presley had no interest whatsoever for the business side of things, so Joe was the go-between between Elvis and Tom Parker. Did that mean Joe had a lot of contact with Tom Parker? Yes it did. Did that mean Joe's loyalties stood with Parker first? Not in a million years does it mean that. Only the uninformed and ignorant would suggest such a thing - and in regards to The Memphis Mafia, only those who had an axe to grind would suggest such a thing. Search for Marty Pasetta online, he was the Director and Producer of Aloha. Hear what he has to say about who he had to deal with when it came to the business side of things with Elvis Presley. It wasn't Tom Parker and it wasn't Elvis Presley, it was Joe Esposito. Out of all the members of The Memphis Mafia Elvis had had around him I think only three people were loyal towards Elvis during and after their years with him and until their dying days and they were Charlie Hodge, Joe Esposito and JD Sumner. The rest of them, including Billy Smith, had been party to releasing some awful, disgusting, personal garbage that should never have been uttered even in private let alone in public.

Elvis lived, passed away recently..the chaos happening in the Presley family, is very similar to a texas oil family, and the big Daddy oil king passes away, and turmoil ensues..suicides, drugs, and battles over the estate
